Baby blues lingered on Acubens features open and receptive as she continued to answer all the new senshi's questions, even if some of the answers she'd received so far were more helpful than others. Still, it was nice to know there were others out there willing to help. Remarque had sort of implied the entire court would be that way, but she'd believe it when she saw it. In her experience thus far people were more inclined to be out for themselves, which was fine. She felt the same way most of the time, so it wasn't as if she could fault them. Lips drawing into a thin line, the girl tapped her toe against the girder she was standing on before glancing at the ground beneath her and hopping down to place her on the same level as the eternal. "I guess I'll decide as I need to. I don't actually know anyone else yet, so there's no one to tell."

The younger senshi leaped down from her vantage point to meet Acubens and she was grateful. Craning her head up was getting hard and her neck had begun to ache. Besides that, whether the other senshi intended it or not, it hinted to Acubens that perhaps Romulus was feeling more comfortable with her. More willing to give up the higher ground. It gave Acubens the confidence to move forward. "That's usually the way I go. I'm not a big planner as it is, and case by case allows me to be more flexible with how I handle things. But..." Acubens sighed, swallowing around the lump in her throat, "I did tell my brother when I was white moon. Not really on purpose, it just sort of happened, but it was nice to have someone on the other side who knew what I was but still grounded me. I wasn't Sailor Acubens to him. I was Micah then. And I still had to take out the garbage and do the dishes and..." Her voice wavered and she had to stop for fear of losing control of herself. When would it stop hurting? "But you'll make those choices yourself. I can answer questions on mission statements, tricks, tips, and how-tos but revealing yourself to civilians... that's not a question in my wheelhouse."

It all managed to be informative but not entirely helpful, through no fault of the eternal senshi standing before her. There was no right answer, which Romulus could appreciate, but it was a bit of a pain in the a** for newly awakened senshi. "Ah, gotcha." She supposed, at least for now, it that she didn't need to make any sort of definitive choice about whom she should or shouldn't reveal herself to. When the time was right she'd know it, right? But what really stuck out to her was that Acubens hadn't started with them. "So you started out with them, then?" A hand came up in a vague gesture and nothing and no one but still managed to make her meaning clear. The, folks with order signatures. The ones that seemed to glow white at the back of her mind when she was out and patrolling.

Ah s**t, she had said that, hadn't she? Acubens winced as she realized that she had accidentally revealed a still aching wound and cast her eyes about to ground herself so that she could search for the words that she needed to explain herself. Eventually, she settled on a gleaming iron I-beam. Heaving a rather strained sigh, Acubens finally nodded. The shame that she felt over her previous life flooded her again. Not over the alliance to the White Moon, but rather the things that she did while she was there. Ink black wings fluttered behind her and for the first time in a while, she heard the low rumble of a familiar chuckle. It sent a tremor down her spine, the aftershocks causing her limbs to tremble just slightly and for just an instant. All of this, though all-consuming, lasted only an instant before Acubens cleared her throat and clung to the first words that sprung to life in her mind regarding the subject. "Ah, yeah. I was awakened by a cat that didn't bother to stick around, didn't care to teach me anything, and was unable to find any more than one or two precious allies on that side. Everyone else... seemed not to want to bother with me. And when I presented ideas that weren't 100% within their ideals they punished me. I did some things I regret to find a foothold and in the end, I left." Such a simplified rendition of what happened, but Acubens also wasn't entirely certain that Romulus wanted to know the painful details of her trespasses. She wasn't entirely sure anyone would want to know. "Anyway, that's why I make it a point to reach out to as many Dark Mirror Senshi as possible. I don't want us to be what the White Moon has become. I want us to be a tightly knitted community. A family of sorts. I guess I've made it my mission to make everyone that I can feel welcomed and well taken care of."

Well, part of that story was certainly familiar. Romulus' arms came up, folding over her chest as she glanced off to the side, then down at her feet before looking back up at the eternal standing in front of her. "I don't know anyone else in this court." Maybe that was just how things went in this sort of life. s**t happened, and you got dragged in, and sometimes you were left to find your own footing. Or so it had seemed to Rommy, at least. "One person trying to tie a group together doesn't make it a family," she countered mildly, brows arching. "If you're the only one putting in the effort, all you end up doing is stretching yourself too thin to help anyone." It wasn't as if she doubted Acuben's attentions. They were certainly noble, but Romulus had been awakened for a a little while now and so far no one had swept in to show her the ropes. It'd left her wondering if maybe she was supposed to be the one to reach out to the rest of the court, but if that was the case, how?

"Well," Acubens said with a small smile, "the idea is that I won't be doing it alone for very long. Hopefully, as I get to know more members of the court, we can all form a support system for each other. That way it's not just me. It's all of us." She swept out her arms, as though gesturing to a crowd behind her, and then dropped them back to her sides. "Though, I do admit, it is harder than I originally thought. The senshi that I've found who have been on their own have been hesitant. Like you. Almost like they don't want to get their hopes up." And it broke Acubens' heart if she was being totally honest. No one should feel alone in the world, least of all people who were part of an already marginalized group. "All I need is one person to buy in. Someone else sees that one person buying in and they decide to take a look. Suddenly... it's working. Those first few who bought in grow and rise in rank and can show other new senshi the ropes, the way I am doing now. Those senshi grow and pass on what they learned from those who came before. If that cycle gets rolling... it won't be just me for long. But like I said. I need that first one to buy in. So what do you say?" Acubens paused for a moment, smile placidly held on her lips, before she went on, "and if it doesn't work, what do you have to lose? It'll just go back to the status quo, right?"

"Well, it's certainly a pretty thought." If she could pull it off that'd be amazing, but Romulus was not always the most optimistic, or helpful. It sounded like an awful lot of effort, but that assessment wasn't exactly fair, either. She wanted a support system to rely on, but was she really so unwilling to put in her own effort to make it happen. It had her drawing in a long breath to be released through her nose, lips tugging to one side thoughtfully. "I guess I can help, if you need it, but I don't know what I'd have to offer. I don't really know anything yet. Or anyone." At the very least she'd have Acubens to check in with when things got crazy, and that was good.

Good thoughts lead to good actions, Acubens mused to herself, eyes never leaving the other senshi. And it seemed that those good thoughts were contagious. However hesitant she was, Romulus agreed to Acubens' terms. Acubens' smile widened and brightened as she did so, threatening to tear her face in half as it did so. "Well, talents and skills become apparent in time, Romulus. We can find them together if you'd like." By the looks of her, she was a fighter. And if Acubens was a gambling woman she'd bet her life's savings that if she could get this senshi to meet Leto it would be love at first sight. Maybe that was a project for another time, though. "It's late," she said gently instead, glancing up at the moon now far past mid sky. "Keep yourself safe until we meet again, Romulus."
