"Do you?" Borr blinked, moving a few feet down a moment to pick up the cash a leaving patron left. "Deal with her regularly? Like deal?" Borr knew the rumors, knew what Darlene had said about Sunny and her deals. His wife had never partaken so she told him. But he didn't often meet people who were overly familiar with Sunny. Not like Aleksy seemed to be.

Aleksy shook his head. "Sure, once. It is Finn who drives to ******** Connecticut to get her her ******** cigarettes like he owe her something." He sighed. "Finn and Mercer and that a*****e, Algernon. Deals deals deals. All the way down to ground."

"Algie?" Borr laughed, "He's not that bad. A little grumpy but I suppose maybe your individual brand of grumpiness may clash, hmm?" He didn't seem the type to make a deal but perhaps in desperate situations... Borr hardly knew all the details of what people were doing in their spare time. "Perhaps Finn does owe her something." Borr shrugged, "Or maybe he just likes her. She has a way about her... to make you think there's humanity there." The bottle was held out again, if the younger man needed another drink.

"He is a*****e," said Aleksy, sighing. He waved the bottle away, because he knew better--sure, he could walk home or call Finn to pick him up, but the bar was not the place to drink an entire bottle of the good vodka. " She... there is something strange about her. She is kin, but she is not kind." He tilted his head to one side, and then to the other. "You have met her? Then you know."

Borr capped the bottle and put it away, but left the glass for Aleksy's idle playing with. "She slit her wrists on my lawn actually." Borr chuckled now, not that he did at the time, but it wasn't like he had people he could share these things with. "But Darlene was friend's with her so I can't think too badly." Borr leaned on his hand again though, thinking, "You know- the dogs couldn't even see her. Funny hmm?"

"Dogs can not see otherworld," said Aleksy, pointing a flat hand at Borr. "Cats can. It is why they are ******** evil. Sunny likes cats. And freaky-a** birds." He pillowed his chin on the backs of his hands. "Mercer said a nice thing to me," he said. "I am not sure how to feel."

Borr laughed again at that, "What did he say?" Aleksy wasn't the only person he knew who would find fault in compliments, but the older man was always curious about people's natural leaning towards suspicion and distrust.

"I was always a man," said Aleksy. "Even when I didn't know it. It was... nice." He looked at Borr for a long moment--another townsperson who had once known him as Aleksandra, angry and hateful with it--and then back down to the bar. "He said that. I do not know how to feel."

"You don't have to question it," Borr chuckled, "It was nice. He's a good man who knows you well. And those of us who know you- know you." Aleksy, as much as he may not like it, got one of Borr's large handed head pats. They weren't the patronizing kind for children, more of his own version of hugs when people clearly were out of reach. "You're getting too introspective for a few shots.." The big man laughed.

"I am naturally introspective," argued Aleksy, even as he turned a little pink under the massive head pat. "I am an introspective person! I am also angry person. Mostly." He sighed. "I should go see if Finn is done ******** around with bears or whatever it is that he does all day."

Borr smiled a laughed a bit, pretty sure if Aleksy was as genuinely angry as he said, he wouldn't have to reassure everyone of it. But he let it go. "Wrestling things.. in the woods!" Borr cocked and arm and patted one of his own massive biceps, "Taming nature!" He surely made it sound much more exciting than it was. Or perhaps the barkeep had a totally different idea of what being a park ranger was about.

Aleksy slid off the barstool, which put him at an even bigger height disadvantage than before. He put his credit card down between himself and Borr, already pretty sure of how much of a tab he'd run up. "He knows he should only be wrestling things at home where I can enjoy the view," grumbled Aleksy. "And only nature he should tame is that hair. Dork."

"Going straight for the hair?" Borr shook his head, "Harsh." He took the card, moved to the register and ran everything, "I once wrestled a bear for Darlene you know.. choked it out! Under one arm!" Borr was making very exciting headlock motions, "Until it gave up and gave me it's fur coat and ran off scared and naked." He may have told this story before, which meant everyone knew the punchline. One of the old men at the end of the bar cackled, "That's where they got the idea for that TV show Naked and Afraid!!"Borr looked affronted that his punchline was hijacked but when he slid the receipt for signing he winked, "Maybe you'll get a fur coat out of it."

Aleksy sniffed. "Half the excitement is seeing the headlock, Borr," he said, and he signed the receipt in his customarily blocky script. "But I suppose a fur coat would be welcome enough." If the fur coat was Finn. That had possibilities.

Borr's cheeks pinked a bit and chuckled, "Be safe getting home." His rag was whipped from his back pocket to swipe the bartop where Aleksy had been sitting, "And talk to that boy of yours."
