Oliver noted Yves' reaction and was just as ready to chatter an apology when Yuri entered the room again. He had a chuckle at Yves' quick definition of what a cheetah was and gave a nod.
"Well, yes, but cheetahs are very well-known for their speed." He added, placing his hands in his lap. "They can sprint up to 75 miles per hour in short bursts. It's intimidating to see them run."
He couldn't help but feel sad for Yuri when he offered the pastries. It was a shame that he couldn't have just a little nibble, but having no stomach really made eating difficult, didn't it? He paused, taking a moment to decide which pastry he'd like to try, and took a small, cherry filled one from the top of the stack. He took another moment to take a bite and beamed soon after.
"These are delicious, Yuri! Very well done!" He cheered, before his expression took a turn for the curious. "... If you don't mind me asking, though. What do you eat, Yuri? I can't imagine there's much of a selection without a stomach." Logue Edit: finally noticed that spelling error... > w>;;;

"Oh," Yuri's ears instantly perked up, eyes widening with interest at Oliver's statement about the cheetah's speed. He hesitated for a moment before floating closer. "Um, so they would be good to work out with," he concluded, searching Oliver's face for an answer. Already he was trying to imagine what type of Raevan would come from such a soul, and how much fun they could have together.
Yves held a hand to his mouth to stifle a chuckle. "Yuri, be mindful of his personal space!" he gently reminded, and Yuri blinked and floated back again, cheeks reddening.
"Sorry," he mumbled, but when Oliver took a pastry he couldn't help but smile at their guest. His rune glowed from the compliment.
Yves felt an imaginary weight lift off of his chest as he watched the two interact. He'd been so afraid that Yuri would react poorly to company, the stress had made it nearly impossible for him to actually plan anything fun for them to do out of fear that Yuri would lock himself in his room out of shyness. So far, Yuri was pretty shy to start out, he'd noticed, but his newly-born Frei seemed to warm up to people quickly. Thank goodness.
At Oliver's question, Yuri looked down at his ribbon. He pursed in his lips in thought.
"Yeah," he agreed, "I don't look like my dad. He gets to eat anything, but, um... I eat bones. I mean, not really eat them, but..."
He trailed off and looked at Yves for help. Yves came back from his giddy little moment and perked back up. "Oh! Oui, oui, Yuri -- he, ah... sucks the life right out of the bones!" Yves held a pastry in his hand and used the other hand to pretend to suck the life out of it, as if he were a sorcerer draining the dessert of its life force. "Just like that! It is so easy. I look forward to the day he can eat other things, though. He has many things he wants to try."
Yuri nodded solemnly at his demonstration. "Like that, yeah."Bouquet of Diamonds I'M SORRY I TOOK SO LONG ILU LET'S GET THIS RP DONE SO WE CAN DO MOOOORE RPS

Now Oliver hadn't considered his future Raevan's aptitude for working out, but Yuri did have a point. With such an energetic soul, wouldn't his Raevan be just as boisterous? They'd certainly keep him on his toes, if that were the case. Good thing he liked hiking!
He laughed, albeit awkwardly, as Yuri scanned his face and gave a shrug of his shoulders.
"Well, that could be a possibility, Yuri!" He replied. "But, if not, I'm sure you could introduce them to the idea and see if they like it. They're likely to be energetic, but they may have their own idea of how to spend that energy."
He couldn't help but give another laugh at Yuri's next comment. He thought that Yuri looked similar to Yves, given his blond hair. However, he was probably more concerned about his lack of legs and making that sort of comparison, not anything else. Then came the answer about food source, and the professor found himself sitting up rather quickly.
"Bones? Really?" He gasped, both intriqued and slightly concerned. "That's... Interesting! ... Where do you usually get them from?"
The little demonstration made him snort. If it weren't for the further questions he had, he would have stopped and thought Yves was adorable.Logue /BOOPS YOU You're fine, ILU! 8D <3 YESSSS! Maybe the next one is where Oliver is whining about his gray hair and needs Yves to make him feel like less of an old codger? e we ALSO, FUN FACT: Laurel's fel essence comes from the bearded vulture, which I found out eats a huge amount of BONES. >83c Maybe Yuri could enlighten him to the deliciousness of bones at some point?

Yuri looked down at the ground and thought about what Oliver had said; he would like to have someone to romp around with, and if Oliver was the kind of person his dad liked to have around a lot, then he could also have another Raevan around a lot, too. The thought of having one of his own kind so close to hang out with made him smile, and his rune reflected his happiness with a small glow.
Yves waved his hand in the air. "Oui, bones! You know, just any bones will do. If I buy a chicken and eat the meat, then he gets the bones, you know? Or soup bones, or... well, he likes to try all kinds, really." Yves winked at Oliver. "I try to get fancy with it, sometimes. I don't want him to get bored!"
"They all taste different," Yuri added. He gently set the plate of pastries down on the table so he could cross his arms over his chest, an action that unintentionally caused him to look much bigger. To some, it was intimidating, although Yuri had yet to discover that fact.
He tilted his head at Oliver, curiously. "What do you think, um... what do you think your Raevan will eat?"Bouquet of Diamonds YEAHHH THAT SOUNDS GOOD, Yves is ready he is the captain of the Self Esteem Team and if Oliver doesn't learn to love his grays then Yves will go with him to get his hair dyed and help him pick a color!!! (Yves is way too nosy and pushy sometimes Oliver feel free to tell him to chill if you ever need him to....chill) OHHH YEAH Yuri would like to be able to share his, er... creepier traits with others, he's always down for that so if Laurel ever gets curious he'll be like HERE TRY THIS IT'S REALLY UM...GOOD.

Oh, of course he bought them from the store. Why had he thought otherwise? He had an awful knack for over thinking things, didn't he? Oliver adjusted his collar and tried to hide a subtle sigh of relief.
"Ah, yes, that makes perfect sense!" He replied, nodding to Yuri's statement. "I imagine they would! Pork bones would taste like pork, chicken like chicken. I'm glad you get to try each flavor in your own way, even if you can't eat them like Yves and I can."
The next question had him pausing again and his lips pulling inward. He'd... Never thought about this. What would his Raevan eat if they couldn't have regular food, especially with an essence made of feathers? Bones at least provided something in a nutritional sense, but feathers were just feathers. A brief image of a fluffy-cat eared Raevan with a mouthful of feathers entered his mind and lingered a moment before he shook it away and laughed.
"Tough question, Yuri! I think I'll need to wait until they're born to find out." He said. "But, I do hope they won't need to eat actual feathers. I can't imagine that would be very tasty, or healthy at all." Logue NO CHILL, Oliver needs the nudging and self-esteem coaching. 8V But absolutely, if Oliver decides to dye his hair, I know he'd trust Yves' input 100%! Laurel would initially be like "DUDE WHAT" and then after trying it like "MAN WTF WHERE HAS THIS GOOD STUFF BEEN ALL MY LIFE? I'VE EATEN THE WEIGHT OF TWELVE DIFFERENT COUCHES BUT THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER."

Yuri nodded silently to show his understanding. Well, he didn't really understand, but he knew he would someday when he met the Raevan. Every single Raevan was different, but they all had one thing in common: they were all like him in a few basic and simple ways. Ways that most others couldn't relate to. It reminded him of the wolves he'd learned about, how they traveled in packs together and formed familial bonds.
"You would find the feathers gone from your pillow, I think! Wouldn't that be weird?" Yves chimed in, waving a hand in the air. Yuri looked startled at that thought but kept his mouth shut, instead furrowing his brow at the floor. That would be weird.
Finally taking notice of the wine glass that had long been forgotten, Yves laughed a little and shrugged at Oliver. "So much for wine night, eh? How does a movie sound? I mean, if you want to stick around..." He trailed off toward the last word, his smile persisting despite a slight hesitation.
"If I have not bored you, I mean," he quickly added, face flushing a bit. "Sorry! I don't -- I don't have people over very often. If you like, well, I don't know what is on cable, but we could take a look..."
"I like scary movies," Yuri piped in, giving Yves a strange look. He didn't understand his guardian's behavior or words. What could have possibly been boring about any of this? New people were always fascinating. But a scary movie would also be fascinating, and he shifted his gaze to Oliver, eyes hopeful.Bouquet of Diamonds I WONDER HOW LAUREL'S FEEDING WOULD EVEN WORK TASTE-WISE.... SO we can either end this on your reply or I can do one more after this!!

Oliver laughed. Yes, all of his pillows would be in jeopardy if his Raevan turned out to have a ravenous appetite for feathers. Though, that could easily be fixed by purchasing new pillows stuffed with fluff. He would ponder miore on that precaution later.
"A movie sounds lovely, actually!" He exclaimed, taking a final sip from his glass. "And nonsense, you haven't bored me at all! You've been a fabulous host, and so has Yuri."
He paid the Raevan a nod, before noting the rather hopeful look in his eyes. Yuri liked scary movies? ... He supposed he could watch one, if it wasn't too gory.
"Well, I happen to like Yuri's suggestion for a scary movie." He said, offering Yuri a smile. "Why don't we see if there's anything like that on tv tonight?"Logue I IMAGINE THAT A LOT OF HIS MEALS WOULD BE RATHER BLAND, unless he took weight from actual food! He could still feed on the weight of apples or meat, it would just be a little wasteful. And I think we'll be good with one more reply from you! 8D

Yuri moved in place a bit, a gesture that likely would have been a happy dance had he any legs. His face didn't show it very well, but he was excited. Yves liked Halloween, which Yuri understood to be a scary holiday, but his guardian didn't seem to enjoy scary movies very often. With Oliver's encouragement, however, he could tell Yves was giving in.
"Okay," Yves breathed, mentally preparing himself to stay up all night with his lamp on. He watched Yuri float a little closer to Oliver, the large frei seemingly growing fonder of the man by the minute. How could he say no to that face?
Forgetting Oliver's personal space again, Yuri put a hand on his shoulder and usered him toward the couch. "What kind of scary stuff do you like?" he asked, watching Oliver intently. "I like all kinds. Skeletons, vampires, zombies, ghosts... Dad always gets scared, but it's not real."
Yves stood behind the couch and shook his head. "It looks real," he muttered, blushing from embarrassment. Yuri was too honest, did he have to blurt everything out like that?
Still, he couldn't help but watch them with a small sense of wonder; Yuri rarely talked that much. He seemed shy and self-conscious most of the time, preferring to hold his tongue, hold back. However, Oliver's interest seemed to have sparked something in Yuri and was causing him to show his more social side a bit more openly. Yves leaned against the back of the couch, chin in hand, and watched Yuri chat Oliver's ear off with a bright smile.
Maybe one scary movie wouldn't be so bad.
