"You have no idea," Dris'rynne shook her head to Talisia before drifting back to Tes. "You knew me well enough to fight with you instead of letting those little beasties eat you. Wasn't that enough?" There was no winning with him. He seemed perpetually wrapped in an argument with someone else, and the fish knew exactly how to push her buttons.

And Talisia's.

And all of women kind in general.

Dris'rynne could handles the jibs to herself, she'd already put up with worse, but hearing him talked about how women should be 'back in the kitchen' made her want to ring his neck. It took all of her patience not to shove him against a wall, grab one of her swords and filet him on the spot. She tapped her fingers against the table top, picking up an agitated rhythm the more he blathered on. One moment he made her think that maybe, just maybe, he was an alright guy and then he seemed to want to bury himself deeper into the ground.

And then just as quickly as she thought she was going to get in a good punch (why else was he leaning in if not to give her a prime shot?) when he said words she'd never expected from him. It was enough to stun the shifter, bringing out a healthy flush to her cheeks and an immediate 'oh goddess, help me' look.

"...You're welcome."
Feeling more and more uncomfortable as each moment passed, she reached for the water, and handed it to him. "Try something other than alcohol?" There wasn't any way that she and Talisia were going to move him, so they might as well work on sobering him up.

He did not just say that! Normally a very calm spirit, Talisia almost flipped the table. If someone could call it a skill then this male definitely had the golden tongue of an agitator. Perhaps it was his drunkenness that made it more so, but she doubted it. Something told her that this was typical behavior for the Matori. Gritting her teeth she glanced towards Dris, "He'll need more than that."

Standing, the girl pushed away from the table. "I'll be back." With that stated she simply walked away towards the kitchen of the tavern. It wasn't long before she had found a large barrel, big enough for a body, of water placed out the back. In her hands was a bucket of water from said barrel. Needless to say when she came back she smiled ever so sweetly towards Teslaron, "As it is I think he might be too drunk to move towards the water bins, so I thought I would be helpful. Being a woman and all we must take care of the needs of our men, right?"

That stated she simply dumped the water on his head before setting the bucket down on the table, "There's more left for you to drink if wanted, but hopefully that helps sober you up as well." It was oddly scary how easily she handled herself as she sat down with her legs crossed as a proper lady. In fact, dumping the water had been a good stress reliever and she felt as if the anger had simply evaporated...for the time being. And it wasn't like the water was ice, ice cold...it had been in the Oban sun after all.

He couldn't conjure a fathomable reason to pull himself off of Dris'rynne. She wasn't complaining, even if she didn't sound expressly happy. And Tes did sort of know her from one prior experience, so there were probably weirder ways to behave toward her than what was happening now. He sighed and scratched a nail down the length of the glass, dragging a bead of condensated water in his wake until Talisia stood, the table shook, and the little droplet dispersed around the bottom rim of the glass.

His golden gaze flicked to the hybrid girl as she strode off, but otherwise, her departure didn't strike him as immediately important. But something she'd said moments prior did ring with him, and he felt a pressing need to clarify. "I am not normally drunk," he muttered against Dris' shoulder. "I don't spend lots of time in taverns, I don't use booze as a weapon, I don't smell. Usually."

He slipped an arm around her, letting his fingers play with the ends of her hair. The words spilled out in a dull rumble, "I went to Sauti because I was a fool, met you on the way back, and when I got home, my boyfriend was dead. They told me he got in a barfight, because he was drunk and it was somehow no one else's fault and mugs broke and glass in his- But I wouldn't know. I wasn't there. I keep thinking if I come here, I'll just know who was with him that night, but I don't. I don't." He shook his head. "I shouldn't be here. I shouldn't be here, anywhere. But it doesn't matter, one way or the other, I suppose. What's done is done, is done. And I am here."

He shifted off of her and away, before plucking up the water and taking a few gulps. In the time it took him to bring the glass to his lips, take his swallows, and set it back down, Talisia had reappeared. Tes blinked quizzically at her, but found that he didn't have time to vocalize his suspicions before the world narrowed to nothing except the uncomfortably unexpected rush of water, wet clothes, clinging hair, and a small avalanche of droplets obscuring his vision further than it already was.

Teslaron spat out a small mouthful as he dragged a hand down his face, flicking the wet to the equally drenched table in front of him. He raked a hand back through dark, sopping strands and held it out of his face as he fixed Talisia with a grin.

"I gotta say, babycakes, you go above and beyond, seeing as how I'm not really your man to tend to."

This was not going bode well for anyone involved. Dris'rynne had barely ever seen Talisia near the edge. Sure, the girl had spunk, but out right anger? She wasn't entirely sure what she would come back with, but Dris'rynne knew it wouldn't be good.

"You don't seem like the type to be here often, that I'll agree with."
She dealt with that type all too frequently in her line of work. They were always aggressive; shoving, boastful fools who thought they could push their ways through life. Teslaron may have been an aggravation, but she didn't think ill of him. He just didn't fit the type. Not that she thought particularly well of him, mind you, but that was neither here nor there.

For once she let him keep his arm where it was. She felt her body give into a loud sigh, the one of a person admitting defeat. For the moment he was alright, and she didn't feel the overwhelming need to shove him away as she had before. Whatever was troubling him made the man somber, which was a strange turn for him, and Dris'rynne wanted to know why.

Not that it gave her any sort of closure upon hearing it.

Dead. No wonder he was drunk, then. A great many turned to alcohol on a normal day to forget their sorrows, let alone those trying to get answers by recreating the atmosphere in which their boyfriend passed away. Dris'rynne opened her mouth to speak, then closed it with a look of blatant sympathy. Nothing she could say would make it right, and even if she thought him annoying, no one should suffer through grief like this alone.

By the time Talisia had returned Teslaron had retreated to his own seat, and Dris'rynne actually felt the need to hug him. It disturbed her greatly. She didn't see the bucket until it was being raised, didn't hear the words until they were already spoken, and by the time Dris'rynne's mind caught up with the events unfolding around her she was too late.

"Wait, don't-!" She half rose in her seat to stop it, hands out stretched, but it was done. Talisia had carried out her mission with a frightening level of efficiency, all blissfully without the knowledge of why Teslaron was even drunk to begin with.

It didn't excuse his behavior, however, and Dris'rynne felt herself torn. Half of her consciousness pleaded guilty because a softer, more compassionate set of tactics may have worked better, but the other rallied around Tally. The things he said were worth two buckets at least, maybe an entire barrel, but regardless Dris'rynne still sat back down in her seat with a hand over her face.

There was little concern over the fact that she, too, had gotten wet in the attack, though just the side that was closest to Tes.

"OKAY, WE'RE LEAVING."
Dris'rynne slapped her hand down on the table before giving it a flick in the air to call their waitress over. "You-" She turned to Tes, "-are going to wherever it is you call home and sleeping this off. If you don't have a place to stay we'll get you a room. And you-" She turned to Tally, "-are going to help me get him there. Okay? Good."

There was a look about her that just dared either one of them to say something against it. She half expected it out of Tes, but hopefully Tally would know to save her questions for later. Their waitress came to the table, all fluttering skirts and smiles that seemed to fly away with one look at Dris' face. Dris' paid her well; enough to cover all three tabs just so they could get out of the tavern as quickly as possible.

Something was off...

But in her anger Talisia hadn't cared. Now that Teslaron was drenched before her the girl did have a bit of a knot in her gut. Had she needed to do that? How was it that she had allowed the Matori to get so under her skin? A light flush decorated her cheeks as she glanced towards her sister. He had deserved that right? Yet, his grin and snarky reply seemed to congratulate her actions. He definitely needed it! No matter what may have made Dris changed her mind the man still needed a good shock to wake him up. Mouth set in a firm line, Talisia glanced towards Tes. "My man or not, sweetie, you obviously needed that since it seems you have no one to really tend to you currently. If so they might have brought another bucket."

At the change in Dris, Talisia hesitated. Had she missed something? Pursing her lips the hybrid almost protested before sighing, "Alright." She glanced back towards Tes, "Hopefully that did help a bit." Talisia gave a small shrug towards Dris. So maybe she had lost her head just then, but it wasn't like he was innocent. Seriously where in the lands had her sister managed to find a person who could get such a rise out of her? There was a bit of pity in her. She remembered her first experience after drinking. The thought of the next morning made her stomach clench, "Add a hot meal to that room if needed. If not he'll wake up on an empty stomach and that will make him even worse for wear."

She would behave for now and ask questions later.

But she definitely was willing to help if he needed a good smack to the face to sober up as well....the thought brought the tiniest of wicked gleams across her gaze before she shoved the thought away. As nice as the idea was it wouldn't serve to help them currently. Something had shifted and if Dris wanted to help the pest then help they would.

Dris'rynne was certainly a loud woman, wasn't she? Teslaron winced when her hand hit the table, and he turned to shoot her a withering glower. These ladies (or whatever you called a not-so-proper woman) could stand to be just a bit more considerate. He was already soaking wet, drenched, sitting in a puddle, half-a-shot away from losing all sense, agitated with the world at large, abysmally depressed, and he did not need women yelling in his ear.

He tried to smile, because it was what he'd always been told to do, but his brows pinched, the corner of his eye twitched, and he looked anything but. He touched a finger to Dris' arm, delicately walking two digits up her silvery skin. "You know, my precious. Moonflower. If you could be so kind and-"

His jaw snapped shut and his golden gaze swiveled back to meet Talisia at her commentary. 'No one to tend to you.' Teslaron had the decency to look taken aback and actually flinched when his eyes found hers. The words were true, as unpleasant as it was, and the sound of them was closer to a slap than any bucket of water could be. Because he'd had- And he wanted- And it wasn't fair. Tes' gaze fell, and his fingers curled into a fist against the tabletop.

He still did not want to go home.

But neither did Tes especially want to be dragged off to a random inn to wake up in an unfamiliar place, feeling terrible, confused, and alone. He swallowed. "I live... close enough. I can make it on my own. You don't need to hang around."

At the very least Talisia was behaving. She hoped that Tes would as well, though Dris'rynne didn't hold her breath. The longer this evening drug on the more prominent a pounding in her head became. It started out as a little nagging p***k near her temple, until it eventually became a bigger pain than the fish himself.

One minute she thought things were fine, then he started back with the indecent nicknames and then - then Dris'rynne couldn't be mad at him anymore. A little irritated maybe, but not mad. It was too depressing to think about him like that now.

Shaking her head, the shifter dipped low enough to be level with him. "I'm not leaving you here, Tes. Now come on, on your feet." She didn't give him much of a choice when she pulled his arm around her shoulder and all but jerked him from his seat. Once she had him up far enough she placed her arm around his waist to steady him.

There was going to be a lot of explaining once the sisters were alone, but for right now Dris was thankful that Talisia hadn't asked any prodding questions. Yet.

"Tally, can you get the door?"

Strangely enough his flinch twisted her heart. Oh gods...was there actually something that she had missed? The hybrid gritted her teeth in frustration. So much for first impressions...on either side. Still, as she glanced towards her sister the girl nodded. "Yes." Even if Dris had said to leave him Talisia probably would have felt a hint of remorse...just a hint, a tiny tiny piece that maybe flickered into existence just then. Knowing this guy though it would probably be gone with his next comment.

"Like it or not we're helping you out of here. Moonflower has spoken and so be it." She truly hoped those were drunk compliments - if not she still had a lot to talk to her sister about. I suppose I owe him for giving us this distraction from my own farewell. Though she really wondered...exactly who was she leaving Dris behind in Oba with?

If they all were like this guy...

Shaking her head, Talisia started to lead the way. "Let's get out of here."

Hhh- He didn't want to go anywhere. If fact, he was pretty adamantly against it, and initially, some wildly stubborn and childish portion of Tes' thoughts were dedicated to the thought that these two girls could absolutely not force him to go anywhere. Because they were girls, and he was not, and it wasn't as if they could carry-

But apparently Dris'rynne had other ideas. Teslaron grunted as he was jerked unceremoniously into a stand. After attempting (and failing) to stagger away from the Shifter woman, it became blindingly apparent that he could scarcely walk on his own and probably wouldn't have been able to stand straight, regardless. This knowledge did not make him any more receptive to Dris' help. "Gods above and below," Tes grunted as he gracelessly slid into some form of step to match Dris'rynne's step. "That's real butch of you, lady. I can hardly call you 'Maiden' if yer just gonna yank people around like they was nothin'..."

He gave a snort of a laugh at the hybrid's commentary and rolled his head sidelong to rest against Dris'. "Guess 'Moonflower' is still okay, though, Since it seems to be catching on."

He shot a grin in Talisia's general direction. "Y'know, I quite like you, so if you two aren't hooking up- Wait, no." His brow furrowed, and he lapsed in momentarily silent contemplation. "You said ya'll were sisters, so..." Maybe that didn't matter so much. Tes shrugged. "It stands. If ya'll aren't hooking up, maybe me'n you can get together sometime and get a little more familiar with each other." In case his amusement at this particular situation wasn't clear, Teslaron shot his new hybrid friend another pearly-toothed grin and a wink.

Moonflower has spoken. Serin help her, it was catching.

Small and petite though she may have been, the shifter's force of will helped her to 'escort' Teslaron out of the bar after her sister. For every escape attempt her grip on him tightened twice fold to the point where it may have been easier just to knock him unconscious and carry him over her shoulders.

"Tes." Dris'rynne groused, rolling her eyes up to the sky. "Shut up and walk." If she hadn't just chastised Talisia for treating him roughly the warrior would have been eager just to let him fall on his face in the dirt. Butch? And now -

"She's taken. We're both taken." She came up with the spur of the moment lie, and tugged him down a side street. "I have a husband in Jauhar and she has one in Zena, so stop thinking with your...little Tes and focus on walking."

"If you even remember this in the morning, but still no. I can always introduce you to Silva though if you're interested." Quipped Talisia with a slight roll of the eyes. He was so out of it that perhaps in the morning he would wake up a different person? But by the reaction her sibling had towards the Matori the hybrid doubted it. At least the idea of her raptrix 'hooking' up with someone was amusing in the least.

But the commentary from Dris did send a light flush to the hybrid's cheeks. They were? Wish I had known that. She thought with a quiet chuckle, "Exactly, so stop it already else I'll have to let Eresin know." Why had she said his name? It was the only male name she could think of in the split moment. Surely that was fine, right?

"Anyways...how much farther do we have until we can drop him off?" Before he does anything or says anything else to make this even more awkward or frustrating...

He blinked. 'Taken.' 'Husband.' Maybe he was thinking too hard, but that honestly had been far from what he'd expected of the Shifter woman in front of him. Teslaron's expression pinched, and he leaned to rest his head against Dris'rynne's. Because she was gay, surely. He nosed her hair. Or maybe just bi. Bi would be acceptable and favorable as well. And were hybrids like Talisia even allowed to get married? He'd always assumed no because who would want to perform the ceremony? No one he knew, for sure, though he mostly only knew bigoted Obans, so... Well, it was all absurd, Tes decided with a soft hum. Both of them.

"Oh, dear sweet girl," he cooed, rolling his attention from his current companion's hair and back to Talisia. "Tell whoever you like. Invite whoever you like. I'm not selfish enough to take two perfectly beautiful women all to myself..." He reached to brush the back of his knuckles to the hybrid girl's arm and beamed at her as he did.

He'd hardly so much as made contact with her skin before a voice, young and female called his name from down the street. "Tes!"

The Water male squinted hazily in her direction, blinking in confusion before he actually heard the sound of the female's footfalls before she came into focus. Neo was not a quite girl. She approached the group with her hands already reaching for him. "Oh, I'm so sorry," she chirped in her young, barely-teenaged voice. "I was running late, and-"

He petted her face and draped his arms over the top of her head. "You don't have to apologize to me, little angel. I am perfectly-"

"I'm not!" She retorted indignantly. "I'm apologizing to the ladies that got caught up with you!" Neo dipped her head, her frizzy mass of curls bouncing as she did. "Please forgive me. I didn't know anyone else would feel a need to try and bring him anywhere and I didn't expect... Well, I'm sorry all the same."

Dris'rynne had to smirk at Talisia's quip. Introducing him to Silva might be interesting; see if Tes could pull off his 'smooth moves' on the raptrix instead. She didn't pay much attention to the name Talisia had dropped, thinking it a fake name and nothing more. If anything she was just happy that she was playing along, and helping to build a strong case against the matorian.

Not that it helped to keep him away, mind you. He was still far too close for comfort, and there was only so far Dris'rynne could lean away without outright dropping him. When she felt him nosing around her hair she may have leaned in and may have 'accidentally' head butted his nose.

She was so close to a sharp, angered retort when she heard the voice. Dris'rynne turned, squinting her lone eye to bring the image into focus. This, this little slip of a girl was his escort? Dris'rynne openly gaped, passing a skeptical look to Talisia before going back to watch the scene. "No apologies needed. If anything I feel I should be apologizing to you. Are you...are you sure you can get him home by yourself?"

Oooh that sent a shiver down her spine! Frustrated, Talisia almost told him where he could go have his fun before a voice caught her attention. Similar to her sister, the hybrid had to raise an eyebrow. This was his escort? "At least she's witty enough to realize how much trouble he is." She quipped lightly to Dris before nodding towards the girl, "Same. Are you sure you can get him home and also handle the trouble that he is?"

It truly was hard not to tease. Yet, maybe just a hint of worry was there. If she could allow such things to bother her about such an annoyance. Talisia's gaze slid back over towards Tes before she glanced back to Dris with a light shrug. What could they do? It wasn't like they had much more obligation to him save for making sure someone took him home. So this was fine, right? "I mean if it's not too much farther I suppose we can tag along if needed - if not then I'm willing to pass him on if you're willing to take him."

Neora tipped her head, her expression sliding down to that of a pout. "Of course I'm sure," she retorted. "I'll have you know this isn't my first rodeo, and I've become quite used to it over the past few months. I'm short, but I'm not weak! I can do this." She nodded firmly, reached to pluck Tes' arm from atop her head, then latched it firmly in her own.

He scoffed softly, and beamed around at all of them. "I must be truly blessed. Dunno if I've ever heard of a man with so many women around to fret over him..."

Neo was less amused. She inclined her head once more. "I hope he wasn't too troublesome, though I am grateful for your aid in this regard." She hadn't been aware Tes had any friends that would help him do much of anything. That, at least, was a nice thought. She smiled at the two females. "If you ever want to hang around outside of a bar, our house is just down that way," she said, pointing down the street. "It's not the biggest or the best, but it's got a real beautiful red entryway. You can't miss it!" Beaming chipperly, she slipped an arm around the Water man's waist and started trekking off in the indicated direction.
