“Everything worth learning takes time.” Terry quoted, thought he didn’t remember where he heard that from right now. “Thank you for helping and trying to teach me.” He said with a smile as the other continued to help him eat. It was slightly embarrassing that he needed the help but that feeling was squashed by the feelings of affection and thankfulness for Seung. Unfortunately since he needed help to eat he wasn’t able to complete his plan of sharing his food that way. Instead he ended up scooting over one of the sides to the other while claiming it wasn’t quite to his taste so the other was free to not let it go to waste, he had of course made sure to pay attention to whether the other preferred it or not first to make sure he wouldn’t refuse.

“Yes, will be worth it when you learn.” He wouldn’t have to feed the other, in a restaurant, as he’d be able to manage the chopsticks himself. That would be could, and it was a good skill to have really - wasn’t sushi popular here as well? That was either eaten by hand or with chopsticks, depending on the kind, and he knew that.
Seung, unlike what Terry might be, wasn’t picky about his foods. He liked his kimchi a bit more fresh where it hadn’t sat for too long fermenting. He didn’t like sweet foods but preferred savory and spicy food. It was one reason he didn’t go to bakeries and go for breads, at least not where he was from. Terry had tried bread from Korea and knew how sweet it could be and generally was.
Deciding to let the other work on the soup, with the spoon, he went to eating his own as well. Adding some rice to his spoon before eating the mouthful. It was a good savory food and the meat fell off the bone. “Plans for after this?” He asked taking the shot he had of soju and pouring himself more, the bottle slowly whittling it’s way down. He’d wind up finishing it before they left - all on his own.

Terry gave a hum in agreement. It would definitely be worth learning how to use chopsticks properly. When he switched over to the soup he glanced over to see Seung drinking the soju. He hadn’t thought about it earlier since the other was just having one, but now he remembered one of his other concerns for the other. He just wasn’t sure if he should bring it up now or not seeing how they were at a restaurant. “Not really. How about you?” He asked as he kept an eye on the other. Did he seem more relaxed than usual? Was that just the company, food, or was it the drink?

Shifting closer to the other he turned his head to him after swallowing a mouthful of food. “No plans. Lessons tonight.” He said giving a small shrug of his shoulders. He had martial arts practice tonight but nothing till then. He could go to the gym if he wanted but he hadn’t been sure if that was what he wanted to do. He could also see about getting his hair redone as his roots were starting to show - if not now maybe tomorrow he’s get to that. It did need to get done, preferably before any more of his roots showed. He didn’t want it looking sloppy with the black showing at the scalp like it was, he had to fix it soon - today or tomorrow. “Might get hair...color.” Pointing up to his hair and running his fingers through it to show where black roots. Though he was feeling a little light and maybe he should get his hair done tomorrow, as he could feel his cheeks warm also.

“I see.” Terry watched Seung’s cheeks heat up and frowned slightly. He temporarily skipped over the topic of the other male getting his hair done, not having a problem with it, and instead focused on the topic that concerned him. “How much have you had to drink?” He asked and looked between the soju, Seung, and the others food. Maybe he hadn’t eaten enough to counter the liquor. His thoughts went right back to his worries about the other’s drinking habits after seeing the video’s from Korea.

“Was full when I got it.” It wasn’t a large bottle but Soju was strong and he hadn’t had his full meal - yet. He knew he was getting a little tipsy, or buzzed, but he also figured if he ate more he’d be ok. He could be wrong, of course, but he had a good idea of what he could handle and more food should help so he didn’t wind up drunk this early in the day.
If he managed to keep from getting drunk he would likely get his hair done...actually if he wasn’t buzzed he’d get his hair done today before he went to lessons. He knew a nice place in the area, a few blocks over, that did hair.

Terry looked from the bottle to Seung then gave another frown. “I see… Is it normal for you to drink alcohol during this time of the day?” He asked, keeping his voice level. He took another bite of his meal while waiting for the reply. He had looked up the statistics on alcoholics in Korea after getting worried about it thanks to the video’s and had not liked the odds one bit. It was always possible that it was just tradition to drink something when going to a restaurant like this but he didn’t think that was the case.

“No, normally with dinner and not alone. No friends here and wanted a drink.” To be honest he hadn’t been in the mood for tea and he didn’t drink much soda. He tended, normally, toward juices which they didn’t have here. So it was this or water and he had wanted a drink as well. With soju left in the bottle, a full but untouched glass, he went back to eating and enjoying the side dishes as well which were provided with every meal here. “Why?”

Terry relaxed when he heard it wasn’t normal for Seung to be drinking during this time of the day. It wasn’t necessarily an indicator that the other didn’t have a problem still but then again he wasn’t sure if Seung had a problem in the first place. He had only seen him get drunk with his friends in Korea after all and the other had stuck with sharing one bottle when they had shared soju. At the question though he gave a small shrug and a sheepish smile. “I guess the question came up because I saw the statistics for alcoholics in Korea. After seeing how many times you got drunk with your friends in the videos I had looked up if that was usual and well… just another silly worry on my part?”

Laughing he shook his head and shifted in order to hug the other, one hand going to the others inner thigh for support and it was rather normal. “Is social thing to do...makes being social and talking easier...is expected in work with boss and other workers.” But he hadn’t had a job here, he’d been a college student and been focused on that. He had one now but those rules didn’t apply, plus his bosses were old people - like old enough to be his grandmother and grandfather.
“Is done with friends for social reasons...loosen up and have fun. Here no friends so rare here, but is done with dinner at times by me. I do get drunk sometimes on my own here but normally just...not drunk.” He didn’t know what words to use in English, he had no reason to know them either. “No worries, less I’m home with friends.” He admitted. He was surprised the other had seen the videos of that, he’d have to text his younger cousin later about that. But at least he was letting Terry know it wasn't a worry here but when they went to visit Korea in the summer it might just be a worry as he would likely get drunk - really drunk from what the videos indicated.

Terry leaned into the hug, placing one hand over Seung’s hand on his thigh. “Makes sense.” And it did. The number of people who would get addicted to alcohol would be high if it was a social thing to do with both friends and people from work such as your bosses. It was a relief to hear he didn’t have to worry about the other getting addicted while here in the States, though he supposed he might have to keep an eye on him this summer. “Thank you for letting me know.” He said with a smile. “I hadn’t realized just how much that had been bothering me until now to be honest.”

Nodding his head he settled back in his seat at the others side. “Good to help your worry.” He was glad he’d been able to help, not knowing the other had seen his drinking and not knowing of the others worry. He was glad he knew now and had been able to help with it. “Other concerns we didn’t talk about? Weren’t supposed to see those videos. But any other worry?” He asked, wanting to know if there was anything else they hadn’t gone over several nights back. If there was he wanted to clear that water for the other as best he could.
While waiting for an answer he took a sip of tea and went about finishing his meal, which was filling, and left the side dishes for last as he was still planning to somehow eat those - who would turn down kimchi?

Terry nodded, glad he could get the worries out of the way as well. At the question though he paused and tried to think back. Did he have any other concerns that they hadn’t already talked about? He would have to watch the video’s again to double check he supposed. “Not that I can think of right now. I did have a question that came about in your video that included your sister’s surgery though. I know you said before that it’s normal to get them but I was wondering if there was any sort of age you had to be before it was aloud?” He took a spoonful of his soup as he waited for Seung to respond. He knew that young children could get those types of surgery done but usually it was because of birth defects or some such that might be disabling them in some way.

He’d been just swallowing a mouthful of soup when the others question came and he shook his head. “No, up to parent and doctor what is too young. My sister is fourteen. She wanted to return to school back home with better appearance….fresh slate since it’s different school. She is staying elsewhere with aunt and uncle.” Another mouthful of food and he leaned back in his seat and ran his fingers through his hair, he really needed to get it recolored and shaven - today.
“Most not so young, that I know of, normal for graduating high school.” That was around what was common, for teenagers anyway, his sister had been a bit young but it wasn’t anything he gave any mind to or was bothered by. She was looking to improve herself and her looks and was doing so early.

Terry blinked in surprise at hearing Seung’s sisters age. “But what if they would have grown into whatever feature they wanted changed with time? And can’t that be a bit dangerous for minors?” He asked then took a sip of his tea. He didn’t really know the dangers of plastic surgery himself but he thought there was probably some good reasons why there were age limits in the States. Probably anyway. There were some surgeries that had limits that were ridiculous after all.
