Rylan returned Nasir's grin. "Standing offer," he said as the younger man returned with the orange juice. Most everyone seemed to be keeping themselves as busy as they could in troubling times. This was all beyond their realm of understanding, Rylan suspected. "It's unnerving, alright," he said to Ken with a grim nod. "We could barely get the engine through the streets yesterday responding to a crash near Waite State Park. And that was before it all just closed in like this." Now, it was like walking through a wall of fog, and even Rylan, who was used to tight spaces, felt a little claustrophobic. He turned to the breakfast plate, trying to decide what to eat first. A little bit of the sweet, maybe, to start the morning off. He had a tendency to practically inhale his food, and had polished off almost three quarters of the pancakes by the time he answered Ken's question. "Some weird weather system would be the most logical guess, but you're right, the news and the weather station have yet to mention anything of the sort," he said. "I'd like to think it's all just a huge coincidence, the fog and the disappearances. But maybe it's not." Which was infinitely creepier. "What do you think?"

Never one to resist giving her opinion, Melina swallowed her sticky-sweet goodness, took a deep swig of orange juice to clear her mouth, and began to pontificate on the subject, unasked. "Some of the disappearances you could maybe attribute to the fog. Fog'll make you see things that aren't there, not see things that aren't there, and everything in-between. I mean...Silent Hill is a thing." She shook her head, a bramble of curls toppling from side to side atop her head. Another bite, another swig, and she was batting her eyelashes at Nasir adoringly. Enablers were her favorite kind of people, as long as they were enabling her bad habits and not the other ones that annoyed her specifically. "But this many?" She thought about the dark-haired, dark-skinned boy with poet's eyes that was always being nudged in a booth and who she flirted with to make him stammer. He'd been missing for awhile now. Before the fog. "I dunno. Mostly I just don't want to be alone anymore." Shoulders rolled inward as she looked towards Borr, one of the few that made her feel safe. He was a good boss, treated her well, and was a great guy all-around. Also big. Big enough to not feel like you were going to just vanish around.

From the back hall came a sleepy looking person in oversized layers of clothing. Anyone would familiar with Wil would recognize the animal backpack he carried at all times, others may not until he flipped his hood back to reveal messy blonde curls and sleep glazed eyes. He was the kind of person that you saw everywhere, hanging on street corners, offering tarot readings in alleys, selling weed to your dad, doing a chalk drawing with a small hat out for tips- He was Ashdown's college layout. Wil passed Lina with a sleepy smile, "Mornin.." And also stole a bit of food off of someone's plate. Borr, spotting the blonde, huffed, "Outside Wil. No smoking in here." Wil, still chewing his food, gave a thumbs up in a baggy sleeve as he made his way to the front and threw the door open to the fog.

Wil was someone Lina often had a smile for though she didn't really understand why. It was just hard to be upset with someone who was the human embodiment of a sloth. She'd tried, once upon a time, and just never really gotten the hang of being huffy about someone who was generally inoffensive despite their choice of (seemingly) aimless wandering as a career path. As far as she could tell it wasn't hurting anyone, and he was always really sweet, so there was no conflict. Even when he stole a bit of her cinnamon roll she could only shake her head and continue eating the remainder. What she could get offended with, however, was the door opened to the fog. "Wil! Don't go outside!" She'd been calm, if a little agitated, but now she was straight-up afraid. It showed. "You don't know what's out there!"

Somewhere from the kitchen, from where Nasir had went to get coffee, he called out. "Wil! You have your own roll! Don't pinch something from Meli's!"
It was too late.

"Uhhhh.. fog?" Wil took a step outside, with lighter and dooby in hand.
Outside in front of the door, he lit it up and even when he took a step back and near disappeared into it, could see the glow of his cherry.
Borr yelled, "Close the damn door, boy!"
A hand drifted out of the mess and shut the door.
Then Wil launched himself at the glass going, "AHHHHHH HHHHH AHHHHH!!!" before laughing under his hood and leaning his back to the front window.

Born of one too many scary movies and video games in pitch black darkness, Melina's scream when Wil hit the glass was almost enough to shatter it. What followed was a stream of invective that would have turned her grandmother's hair white. "******** you! I ******** hate you, you stupid, malicious, evil son-of-a-b***h!" Realizing she'd hopped off her chair to yell at the direction of the window the would-be doctor took a deep breath before sitting back down with a huge huff.
Looking around the bar, challenging anyone there to give her s**t for her reaction, she narrowed her eyes and sulked a bit. "He scared me." It was her only explanation -- as if such a reaction needed one!

Dhan jumped at the bang on the window and then the shriek from Meli. He was too old for this!
Okay, so he was only nineteen.
He put his phone away in favor of keeping an eye on everyone in the room. He wouldn't be surprised by the next shout!

Wil wandered while he smoked, back forth into the fog and back to the bar door. According to the clock it was morning but it looked like a colorless grey day, no sign of sun or anything. Borr frowned disapprovingly at Wil when the blonde came back in. "S'chilly." Will was pulling his hoody tighter, "And clammy and you can't see a couple feet in front of you. But no monsters so far as I can tell." He gave Meli a smirk and approached to throw his arms around her in an apology hug. "Sooorrryyyy..." He smacked a kiss to her cheek with no thought of boundaries (and then stole more food when he moved away). The blonde was then sliding into a booth and curling back up with a blanket. Apparently it was too early for him.

Wil was a goddamned wizard. It was the only explanation for the way that Lina softened when he came in to hug her, her hug fierce as it was brief before she grumbled at him. "Jerk." She didn't comment about him stealing her food because, from where she was sitting, less cinnamon roll on the plate meant that there would be one replacing it shortly. 'Sharing is caring' was a very easy sentiment to adopt when motivated by greed. Sucking the icing off her thumb the movement was prolonged as the brunette stared thoughtfully out the front window. "So it's just fog. Nothing but fog. So...why the travel ban? It's thick but people have to get home, or go places, or do things." She was thoughtful about perhaps grabbing a flashlight and dragging someone home with her (likely Wil, since he was unafraid). "S'weird."

Borr leaned on the end of the counter picking at a plate of breakfast himself. The TV didn't seem to have much else to say. "Well you don't wanna get hit by a car trying to get place to place.. Not if you can't see in front of you." The bar was a good place to gather, a safe place with him and the dogs. It was warm and everyone was welcome but they were hardly in a blizzard, it was just a bit of fog. "Dhan, you call home? Everything all right?" He turned to the younger worker, "Get some breakfast too. All of you. Most important meal of the day. We'll see about walking around, everyone getting home, after your bellies are full."
