And
those words conjured a mental image of a whole school of skyfish forming a giant platform for the couple to sit upon as they whisked them up through the clouds. Or maybe a whole bunch of little skyfish harnesses all connected to a basket that they could pull upward. The mere thought caused her to chuckle softly.
"Novo might have to have some friends help him out," she responded. "We'll have to see if we can find some for him, or maybe he'll bring some back home with him." Laurel felt a gently puff of air against her neck, and turned her head to look at Flax. She could tell right away that the Nixie was out. Not that she was surprised! After all the school work the two of them had been doing, a relaxing moment on a nice day like this was like a balm for the soul. Laurel felt a wee bit sleepy herself, especially seeing Flax looking so peaceful. She reached up with her free hand and very carefully moved some of his hair back where it had fallen over his face, smiling softly. Her eyelids suddenly felt a bit heavier and she blinked a few times, hoping to clear the weight, then closing them. Just for a moment, she told herself, to rest them. And barely had that thought finished before she too was lulled into sleep by the beautiful weather and peaceful atmosphere between them.
