Topaz hummed cheerfully as she walked down the street, wishing Narra or Keira could be with her. Festivals were a lot more fun with friends! Well it wasn't like she wouldn't have chances in the future, so today would be a good day to scope out what was going on and what might be the most fun! She was most tempted by all the food booths (there were some hot drinks she knew Narra would want to try), though there were a couple game booths Rian might like. Topaz couldn't resist playing a ring toss game, with bottle and rings in all sorts of festive colors. She had pretty good aim, and managed to get in some good shots that won the most adorable fluffbug plushie!
Jaden was super nervous to be going out into the throngs of people, but his curiosity was more powerful. He made sure to leave Cream and Blueberry behind so the fennekits didn't get underfoot, but Sprinkles was big enough and well behaved enough that Jaden allowed him to trot along. He was glad of that, because the sheer size of the festival was overwhelming! He wished he trusted his flight skills enough to go up high to view it all from above! He was almost too shy to approach any of the booths, but there was one with a kindly older lady running it who managed to coax the shy hybrid over. The game was pretty simple, just dropping little rocks in containers of water, aiming for a tube inside the container. Jaden got lucky and made his rock in the container on the second try! He won the rock as a prize. It was a beautiful rock too, and would go nicely with the colors in his and Leto's room!

Oh, yes, the Hunter's Jubilee. Mytrax remembered attending last year's garden party. The plastic arrows in particular had a nostalgic effect on the chimera. She was contemplating plucking one to give to the few friends she'd made in the Academy when she felt something brush against her ankle. A quick glance down revealed... what in the Nine was that?
The green chimera could only guess it was one of the new familiars the announcement had mentioned. She stared at it warily, as if expecting it to strike or lunge if she moved too suddenly. But the elongated thing simply remained by her feet, hissing softly and looking at her expectantly. Mytrax supposed it claimed her as its owner and with a sigh, she knelt down to pat it.
Freddy was totally jazzed! He loved a good party, and a festival was basically the most ultimate of parties! He was down in the thick of it, tendrils flaring, eyes glowing, and working really hard not to fade out in excitement. He ran to all the game booths right off, hoping to prove his skills by winning a cool prize. Most pretty crowded and a bit too high up for the short Geist, so he passed those over. Finally he found an awesome game that involved throwing little sacks of beans at a board with holes cut in it. He had pretty awesome aim, and managed to get the bags through a hole every time. Usually one of the big holes, but it still counted! The person running the booth had smiled and let Freddy pick out a bag of candy as a prize. Freddy proudly carried the bag back to his dorm room, planning to share with his friends.
Verve wasn't so sure if she liked that the party was held indoors or whether they should have just braved the cold and stuck with outdoors. But then she remembered how there was thing announcement introducing new student bodies and blah blah blah, Verve lost interest because it wasn't like she'd meet any of these newbies, was she? Still, a party was a party and the chimera strode into the venue like she was ready to jam.
Except things appeared to be way more subdued than she liked. What up with these weak beats? she grumbled to herself, sauntering past the displayed trinkets and heading towards the buffet.

Charmstar was eager to join the Hunter's Jubilee. Any party celebrating love was the best thing ever for the junior fallen. He grinned to himself when he arrived and began eying the different prizes the booths had to offer. He was sorely tempted to go for some of the jewelry (even if they weren't really made of precious stones and metals) so that he could gift them to his special someones.
In the end, he decided on getting himself a bag of candies first. As he was about to pop one into his mouth, the fallen heard something flapping nearby. A nezubat apparently decided it wanted the candy more than Charmstar.
For Normandy, the allure was not for romance oh no, it was for candy. Well, that and the fact that free food was a possibility and so was prime pranking opportunities. Taking some time to slide in, he went after everything. What he hadn't expected, was for a coatle to appear. Not one to turn away something that resembled a vine, Normandy quickly adopted the pink wiggler. Adopted by way of put it in his pocket.

Melody, was a bit timid of all the hubub of the festival frankly. Shyly she wandered until she found herself face to face with a simple game. When she won and was left with the choice of a plush? She pointed to what looked to be the pinkest and most fluff of them all.
~~~ Pepper was exceptionally excited. Trinkets and toys to gather plus new beings to welcome into the populace? Really the holiday was off to a great start, now it was just a matter of finding a good gift for her twin. So naturally, she was going with the bad romance novel.
~~~ Lianna unlike all her 'relatives' was a bit more inclined towards actually flirting her way to free things. Two ladies later, (and one game), she was already in possession of a very flattering rock. And while some might mock her choice? It matched her perfectly. They obviously didn't understand fashion.

Amihan was feeling giddy and excited about the Hunter's Jubilee. She hoped she'd win enough trinkets to give to her fellow teachers (or at least those she managed to make friends with) and if she got enough, she could even give to some of her students! Yes, lovely little encouragement trinkets in case the poor dears were having trouble with flying.
When she passed by the librarians, she stopped by to chat with them, see how they were doing and whether they had any titles they recommended. The flight instructor was handed a book that in a way felt a little... offensive was such a strong word but the normally cheerful chimera felt like it was not written with the proper amount of research. Still, it was a recommendation from the librarian so she would give it a go. For politeness sake.
Ah, jeez, what kind of a party was this? Shard wasn't too happy with the so-called festivities and activities the Academy was holding. Especially when it was in honor of new faces and new races! Shard sometimes felt like he should be a little more grudge-holding, like his parents, when it came to other races. But even a very traditional baphomet couldn't fault the Nagas or Bakenekos from not joining in the war. Not like they had the opportunity to refuse or join. He wondered if he'd run into anyone of them at this party. Actually he wouldn't mind that. Meeting new Nightmares was always welcomed.

The dryad would have wanted nothing better than to stay inside his dorm until the entirety of Solstice weather was over. Except he knew his sister was going to be at the Hunter's Jubilee because it was a party. And because there were two new Nightmare races making themselves known to the public. Narra had bundled up and brought his enchanted thermos with him even though the venue was indoors.
He'd checked his phone upon arrival and wasn't surprised that his sister would be late. Sending her a quick reply that it was alright, he then sent a quick message to a certain baphomet.

While he waited, Narra played a few games (lost nearly all of them) until he won a plushie.
The imp freshling was apprehensive about the whole thing. It was going to be his first party and he already anticipated that his caretaker would be too busy mingling with other Nightmares their age to keep an eye on him. Which mean other freshlings' caretakers wouldn't be as attentive to their charges as well. Sometimes, Wayne felt like he was the only one following the rules of not taking more than one cookie at a time, or cutting in line at the games because he couldn't control his excitement. But Wayne patiently waited his turn at the refreshments and finally rewarded himself with some brownies.

Trixie hesitated at the entrance of the venue. She was so excited to be here and had gone through great lengths to schedule a visit to the Academy just so she could attend. She wanted to make new friends, even if they weren't fellow nixies. And there were Daydreams and Bakenekos and Nagas and and and-
The nixie had to remember to breathe before she passed out from panic. Shyly, she peered around the doorway and made a beeline towards the booth offering pretty jewelries. She learned she had to draw a slip for a prize and ended up with a ring. Happily, she slipped it on and felt pleased with her luck.
A heavy quilted overcoat with thick wing-warmers waddled into the venue. It took the figure several long minutes of carefully removing the layers of clothing before the Fey within was revealed. Renge was late, well, no she wasn't. She was being fashionably late, which was an entirely different thing to being merely late. The fey was so excited and happy to be in Below. All the sights to see and people to meet, she almost didn't want to find her brother so she had a valid excuse to just walk up to a random stranger.
Before she could make a decision, Renge found herself drawn to a booth giving away plushies as a prize. And with a flick of her wrist, the dart soared and popped a balloon indicating that she did win.
The baphomet had always felt an affinity with this time of year, even after it had been the month of his awkward arrival two years past. He had missed how things had briefly been before he'd overworked himself, and he regretted having missed attending last year's party with Howard, but he was determined to make it up to the boy now. Oz enthusiastically dragged the chimera past the refreshment tables to the ones with the prizes, looking over at Howard with excitement in his eyes.
Unlike Oz, Howard had gone out of his way to avoid the Hunter's Jubilee in years past. It had been the one positive consequence of the baphomet's absence, though as soon as he thought that, he felt a flash of shame so strong that he knew he would never think that about the holiday again. He would try to be happy here, at the very least, even though he could almost feel his psychology homework lurking in the back of his mind.
"One of those polished rocks, definitely," he replied. "All of them, if p—"
Howard froze for a second as he felt something twining around his leg. There had been a recent announcement regarding bakaneko and naga, and while he wasn't frightened of snakes, he sincerely hoped there wasn't a confused freshling currently brushing his ankles.

As Topaz walked around, checking out some of the other booths and happily cuddling her new plushie, she felt her phone go off in her pocket. She pulled it out and flipped it open, smiling as she read through the new message. She tucked the fluffbug plushie under one arm so she could type back a response.
'Already here! I already won the a cute plushie playing ring toss. If you're going to be here we should totally meet up!'
She hit the send button and slipped her phone back in her pocket. She had a messenger bag slung across her shoulder and over her chest, something she usually had with her when she went out in case she had to carry anything. She gave the bag a pat, reassuring herself of the contents inside, smiling a little as she did.
