robot kitten My one other alk is mostly a hybrid so she's just oocly quietly minding her own business. XD
Depression could have easily gotten to her if Ai was weak enough to dwell in it. She pushed on, though, and was now considering branching out on her own. Maybe she should live outside of the settlement? Then again, she knew she couldn't; despite her aggressive style Ai still found strength in her sisters. She needed that bond, craved it, but the idea had merit...
"I wish the others thought like that." Ai ran a hand through her dreads. "They either spoil the elaria or dismiss them entirely. I'm not a fan of them, but something has to give." If they got too old to be taught and thought themselves better than their alkidike mothers...then the earthlings wouldn't be their only problem. Her voice, having already been a whisper, trickled down into pure silence.
She nodded at Ixtil's suggestion, and moved to take position on the left. Her body crouched low, Ai slipped through the darkened foliage, following the tracks as best she could while staying hidden. The further up the trail she went the more pronounced the footprints became until finally she could hear a few far off voices. At this range she couldn't tell what they were saying, but never the less they gave her a wicked grin. The chase was on.

Her eyes focused on the ground and surroundings; Ixtil merely nodded at the other's whispered response. She her self had dismissed them for the longest time... hadn't concerned herself other than to hope they would be a strong future. Perhaps she needed to try and make an effort... see to it that they turned out better and stronger than something those who spoiled them were turning them into. Her antennae twitched when they felt the vibrations in the air; something was nearby. She crouched down and crept towards it, motioning towards Ai that she'd sensed something this way. Voices soon came out clearer and she hesitated; would it be more than 2 on 2? She was certain she could handle one and her fellow sister could as well. Just because there hadn't been any good fighters encountered just yet among the Yeali's didn't meant here weren't any. And she knew that many weaklings could overwhelm a lone strong person. She shrugged to herself; it did not matter she was not going to back down! Today she would risk it and see how well they actually fought for herself! She slid along the ground, ears perked for other sounds as she got closer until she could hear one person muttering to themselves. She grasped the handles and peeked over towards Ai, cocking her head in a silent question: was she ready?

Taking Ixtil's lead, Ai followed suit and kept her narrowed gaze on the lookout. Through the brush, past the foliage caked with stone, she could make out at least three purple heads. They talking amicably among themselves seemingly without noticing what stalked them. This didn't give her any peace of mind, however. Just because she saw three didn't mean there were only three, and this very well might be a trap.
Ai moved as close as she dared behind one of the three; a male too busy with restringing his bow to notice her. There wouldn't be enough time for him to finish his repairs, and launch an attack. It would be the perfect strike.
She nodded to Ixtil, letting her know that she was ready whenever she was.

Painted Moose I'd like to have one flee: the youngest if you don't mind. It will come back later in Ixtil growth quest! (her learning the hard way not to underestimate earthlings) Ixtil felt her blood begin to pound; this was the part she loved the best: chases were fun but the moment right before you struck? Everything was super focused, ears and antenna straining to catch all sound and movement, time seemed both slow and too fast. It was perfect and she loved it. She took a deep breath and took a moment to sit waiting, waiting for them to forget any small sound she and Ai might have made while sneaking up on them, let them go about and be carefree. Since Ai was so close to the bowman repairing, she focused her attention on the next closest. The third.. she'd deal with him after she took down the other. "Hurry up with your repairs." She heard one say. "There might be the bug monsters about...." She smirked: bug monsters? They were plant born not bug born! If only this silly earthling knew about the real bug monsters that lived in Juahur.... She looked over at Ai and saw the nod; Ai must be ready! She nodded back and tensed for a moment before springing out. She didn't jump with a yell; just silently dashed out low, swords held out and ready as she slashed; her mouth twisting into a grin as she felt the smooth blades slice into the thick meat of the thigh. She brought the other blade down on the man's shoulder as he was just starting to scream in pain. She cursed silently as she tugged and found it lodged in the bone; at least I have two! She thought as she skipped backwards and readied herself for the now infuriated and in pain Yealian's response.

Bug monsters?
Ai's lip curled as disgust built up within her very soul. While her sisters weren't lowly insects, if the earthlings wished for a monster, she would gladly give them one.
Once again she allowed Ixtil to take the lead, though she wasn't far behind. Ai rushed through the brush and undergrowth towards the bowmen. To his credit his reflexes were sharp; he heard the tell tale signs of a predator approaching, and rose, swinging his bow in a downward stroke mean to collide with her head. It was enough to stun her, but not enough to stop Ai's assault. Hearing his friend's scream, the man made the mistake of looking back over his shoulder. Ai sliced across his torso, biting into the thick flesh above his left pelvis. A spray of blood coated her blade, spraying up her fingers with a few drops hitting her face. The sight brought a grin to her face, a feeling of accomplishment swarming her as he shrieked.
She waited for him to drop to the ground; not dead yet, but fast approaching. All she had to do was finish him off, and turn on the third.

His movements were faster than she'd expected and he got his spear up and was atackign her already. But the damage to his leg meant he couldn't move it and the shoulder wound left that arm weak.. just weak enough Ixtil was able to block the incoming blow down into the ground and put her foot on the shaft. "We are not bugs.. if anything we're plant monsters." She said with a grin as she pushed down on the spear shaft and used it to launch herself forward, single sword lunging forward to stab him in the chest. She looked up quickly as he died; gasping out some curses from spirits upon her that she dismissed. She looked around for the last one.. there had been a third.. She pouted when she saw the foliage moving from where the last one had fled. Ah well; she'd gotten her first Yealian kill! And by herself! Sorta... She smiled and planted her foot on the guys chest and she pulled the sword out. "That was fun!" She said to Ai as she looked at the blood splatters on her arms. She grabbed her other sword that was lodged inside the shoudler and had to spend a bit to unlodge it. "Think their eyes will keep the glow?" She asked as she stared down at the man's dead body. She always took crystals as trophies... but what if the eyes could be kept?

Ai watched Ixtil's finishing blow with a growing appreciation for the other alkidike. Her motives were as fierce as her own, with a sense of purpose and relaxed nature that allowed this type of hunt to be enjoyable.
Her attention was brought back to her own prey when he reached up to grasp her ankle, weakly raising up with a dagger in his other hand. If he was attempting to stab her it was a piss poor job. Ai clicked her tongue, moving her other foot up and pushed him back onto the dirt, the bottom of her foot pressed against his throat. His arms dropped away in a vain attempt to pry her off of him. It didn't last; when Ai removed her foot she replaced it with her blade. With his throat sliced open, blood pouring from the wound, he died in a matter of seconds.
"It was." Ai gave a little laugh, whose own carefree tone seemed macabre considering circumstances. She looked down at her own prey, crouching down to prod his eyelids open with her index finger and thumb. "Maybe. There's really only one way to find out, right?"

Ixtil watched in admiration at the causal cruelty of Ai just stepping on the guy till he died. Others may have been turned off but Ixtil didn't ind blood or acts of violence; she rather liked them! Ixtil knelt and pulled out her small belt knife. "I'll grab some just in case.. but also still keeping the crystals! They make good beads. Gotta be careful with the eys though, they'll pop if you-- blast." She cursed slightly as the one she tried to pull out did indeed pop and left a mess all over her hands. "This is going to be one of my messier days it appears." She sighed and wiped her hand off in the dirt before trying for the other one.

"Here, let me help." Ai moved closer to Ixtil, and dug around through her pack finally producing a little curved tool. She had modified it to help with skinning prey, and in a way, this wasn't much different. "Try using this. I'll hope the eyelids open." Of course there was no guarantee that this would help anymore than a knife would, but hopefully the little buggers wouldn't pop as easily.
"Are you going to do anything with the skulls? I wouldn't mind keeping them." Miira was likely to comment on how vile it was, keeping those sorts of things in their home, but she could stuff it.

She looked at the tool; it looked like it would work better than her knife! if anything it was more delicate and sharper. "Thanks." She said as she accepted it and started on the other eyeball. She didn't answer Ai's question at first: too absorbed in getting her glowing prize out without popping it. Once she got it out she grinned and held it up. "That ought to make a good trophy!" She said with a grin before answering the question;" You can have the skulls. I prefer things I can remember where they came from. Skulls are skulls... Might take some from creatures but earthling kills I like the crystals more." She shrugged; that and skulls took up more space and she liked the shine of crystals more. Portable trophies were better till she made her self a better home base.

While Ixtil focused on her work, Ai began her own. She kept to a companionable silence because it made concentrating on her job all the easier. When she had finished her arms were stained to the elbow in a darker, crimson color, but Ai felt oddly relaxed. The young warrior wasn't entirely sure what her roommate would make of her 'catch', but so long as Ai didn't say anything Miira wasn't likely to ask. That's just the kind of woman she was.
"I should be heading back soon; I've been out long enough for my mentor to become suspicious." She slipped her catch into her side satchel, closed it up, and stood. "If you have need of a partner for another hunt, though, you should come find me. Today was great fun."

Painted Moose thanks for the rp <3 will have to do another after I grow Ixtil! (which means writing her quest cause all else is finished) "Likewise." Ixtil said. The other made a good companion, one that she could see becoming a friend. And since Ixtil did not have nor care for friends that was a compliment! Rivals were more her like but this one was okay.... "I'll come find you since that ought to be easier than you looking for me in the jungles." She grinned ad put her bag of eyeballs from the other kill into her pack. "I'll be in town to get these properly taken care of but after that I might not return for several weeks... I'm trying to find myself a secret base." She offered a bloody hand to the other. "It was.. nice to meet you Ai. Normally I don't get along too well with others but you're a decent sort."

robot kitten No prob. <3 And I totally agree. They need sooooooo much more rp! We can call it FIN here if you'd like or you can add another post.
Ai only nodded, and pondered on if she should give directions to her dwelling before thinking better of it. Even if the Elaria were helping to bump up numbers their camp was still on the smaller side, so all she would have to do is ask around to find Ai.
She reached out an equally bloodied hand to grasp the others, and give her a firm shake. "The same can be said of you, Ixtil. I hope you have luck in finding your secret base, and may your hunts always be fruitful." She couldn't resist quirked up her mouth in a smirk, though, before adding, "Just try to avoid pit traps in the future."
When she broke the contact, Ai gave a little respectful head nod to the other before walking away.
