A short laugh escaped him when she said they would have something to talk about if he were behind her life story. Gael gave a nod of his head then. "Aye, I believe we would." He made sure to stand just behind Shade as she shopped this way his form would block hers from view. As she found a cloak she seemed to like he chanced a look behind him at the men, they were getting closer. Then something she said caught his attention and he looked back toward her in time to see her try to take his coat off. Instantly he put his hands on her shoulders and shook his head softly. "Keep it on a bit longer. The men have returned." Gael then motioned for her to walk along the stalls as though they were still shopping, which they very well might be for all he knew. "I leave for Matori tomorrow morning, if not tonight.. if you need someone to take you there then you are welcome to tag along." The time he left depended on when he got his letter back from his aunt's friend.

A laugh! Shadiya's gaze gleamed in triumph before she froze, "Oh." Instantly she seemed to shrink inside of the cloak as she pulled it back around her body. She was having an enjoyable time with Gael and the idea of a fight curled her stomach. The last thing she wanted was anyone getting hurt because of her. Time to be extra sneaky then.
"You are?" Shadiya's heart jumped at the offer before she pushed back, "Thank you, but I do have a few things in Oba that I still need to do." She smiled faintly, "Hopefully, we will meet again in Matori in the future. I owe you for today after all." She raised a finger towards him, "And I don't want any protests because a free meal never hurt anyone." As it was she glanced around the market. Could they sneak out of here easily?
"But if you don't mind helping me out of this area now that would be great."

He took instant notice of how she seemed to try and make herself smaller. Gael didn't like that she felt she had to do so. He shifted his gaze toward the men, not bothering to argue with Shade about the favor she owed him since it would be pointless. As she mentioned getting out of there easily he nodded and brought his eyes back to meet hers. "I can, but.. well, I would need your permission to carry you." Even if he knew it was the easiest way for him to get her out of the market without being spotted he still wanted to be a gentleman about it. Last thing he wanted was for her to think he was trying to do something just as unsavory as the other guys. "If I can sweep you up then I can walk that way with my back to them so you would be shielded. It'll get us onto a side street and then we can go whichever direction without them knowing." He wasn't looking for a fight. In fact if he could avoid it that would be perfect. A matorian fighting with an oban would almost certainly end up in jail.

"You can?" Shadiya lightly bounced on the balls of her feet, "Wait...how?" As the rest of his statement kicked in the girl actually flushed. The last time someone carried me I was a youngling. Still if it worked to get her out of here without Gael getting harmed...surely she could hold back her pride, "I...uh...you sure I can't just run for it?"
Still as she attempted to peek past Gael, the girl sighed. Alright, alright. Shadiya glanced up towards the Matori with a wry smile, "I suppose just this once then." Relying on a man this much when before she had always chased them off...what a day! All those times of trying to not be a damsel in distress and here she was. The thought made Shadiya laugh quietly, "It's a valid idea, so why not?"
Dramatically Shadiya posed in what she believed would be a damsel's position, "Ready when you are~"

If he could have face palmed himself then and there he would have, but that would have been a little rude. Gael did, however, roll his eyes before he smiled at Shade. "Sure, you can run for it. It'll draw their attention and they'll chase you like they did before." He was directing her to a small group of people when she seemed to finally give her permission. The young matorian nodded his head then gently reached down to collect her. Gael was careful to hold her close so that there was no way she could be seen beyond his coat and body. Carrying her like a princess he made his way through the crowd, blending in as several other men seemed to be carrying their women as well. He'd timed it just right so that Shade and he would look like just another pair of delighted lovers leaving a matchmaker's stall. "Well, this is the most fun I've had in Oba... ever." There was a bit of sarcasm in his voice but he was chuckling.

She never knew her face could feel so warm. Still it was a rush to be carried through the crowd, "You think?" Shadiya laughed as she spied the other couples, "This definitely is a more unique experience for me." She watched as the crowds started to disperse towards homes and maybe even taverns for celebration. Soon enough the edges of the city came into sight and the girl sighed wistfully. Back to the road, I suppose.
"I suppose they can't see me now, right?" She peered over Gael's shoulder teasingly, "If so I might have a bit of a problem." Grinning Shadiya looked back towards the male, "I know it's hard to let me go, but I suppose all fun has to end somewhere." While it was a bit of a joke, Shade was slightly sad. It had been nice meeting Gael. He definitely was someone she wouldn't forget anytime soon.

He laughed again and shook his head as he stepped to the side and out of everyone's way. Gael made sure no one had followed them then sat Shade back on her feet. "I will admit that you are beautiful, but my heart is taken Shade." He grinned at her as he teased right back. So it seemed he now had two Obans that he could get along with. At least that was something. "Just promise me you'll be careful." He didn't want to hear about how she did a slide into a hiding hole and broke her arm. Though if she pulled too many get-a-way stunts like the one she originally did then he could see that being exactly the case.

Heras Box Can fin here if wanted. <3 "Aww." Shadiya pouted at his teasing before stretching out her arms towards the sun. While being carried was nice the girl was truly glad to be back on her feet, "That person is very fortunate then to have gotten such a great catch." She smiled warmly towards Gael. A true gentleman indeed and he was far from any Oban noble she had ever met.
At his promise Shadiya smirked, "I suppose I should try that then for your sake." She waved a hand in the air as if dismissing the thought, "I'll do the best I can, but really don't worry. I owe you a meal in Matori after all." She grinned, her fuchsia gaze gleaming. She reached out a hand towards his arm, "Sincerely thank you. You helped me out a lot today." As she spoke she slipped his cloak away from her shoulders and handed it back over to him.
"I suppose until next time, Gael." Shade bowed her head, "Take care of yourself as well. Don't wear yourself out saving too many damsels in distress." At the light teasing she laughed before spinning on her heel to start down the road.
