Chel handed her said purple bottle. Nothing wrong with sticking to what you loved.
"Yeah uh ... three years? Maybe?" Saying it out loud always made her feel old, even though she was only turning 20 this year. Numbers didn't really matter, she was always going to be a teenager. "Once you become a full hunter they don't really give a s**t what you do. You gotta pay for it outta your own pocket though- that's what sucks d**k."
(That, and all of the relentless regulation).
"What else you wanna know, greenhorn?"

"So much," she laughed, shaking her head at it all. "I went from being in a prison cell to dealing with undying and now this. I think it's safe to say that twenty fifteen definitely has not been my year."She held the hair dye up, motioning her thanks as she examined the bottle. It was an odd thing for someone to be so kind to her that barely knew her, but she genuinely appreciated all of it. "You really are a big sweetheart. Thank you, really."

"Now yer just tryna butter me up. I'm flattered but I'm taken," she said with a laugh, brandishing her ring because quite frankly she liked showing it off. "M'sure we could work somethin' out though ..."
Chel let out another laugh, the kind that was big and filled space yet still somehow shrill and obnoxious. "Anyways don't get use to it. Most people on this rock got some weird ego thing goin' on. You know like- nobody gets nothin' for nothin'. I think it's 'cause they all got tiny dicks and need t'compensate."
She gestured that they should leave the bathroom and talk somewhere less cloying. "You went t'prison? What for man?"

"Sorry, too lady like for my type. I'm into the menfolk," she laughed, admiring Chel's ring. "I'm sure the two of you are very great together." She was surprised by her response, though it figured. She supposed she'd just ran into the good people on the island so far. Everyone had been pleasant and very helpful. At the mention of her prison time she gave a pause. "Oh uh," she blushed, embarrassed of her life of crime even if she didn't exactly regret it. Hell it had saved her life being stuck in prison during the Delta stuff. "I uh, was in for theft. Lots of theft. Started out small, only stealing what I needed to get by. I got greedy though. That's when I got caught."

"Oh yeah? Stole little stuff when I was little. From like convenience stores or whatever." Probably not comparable to something that would get you landed in prison. Chel had always been a little rebellious but not enough to get her sent to jail.
Plus, at least it wasn't for murder or something more heinous. Chel didn't exactly condone bad behavior but she thought sometimes it was necessary for the right reasons and "needed to get by" certainly helped Diana's case. "I'd suggest just askin' fer stuff here. Most people's dicks but there's a few good ones that'd give you the coats off their backs. Look into that one called Dawson, he's a chump."
Hopefully she didn't just set up Dawson as a target for robbery.

"I've talked to Dawson over twitter. He really is a sweetheart. But yeah, prison wasn't all bad. Got fed regularly, had a warm place to sleep. It's interesting how far one will sink to get any sort of meal," Diana shrugged. "Now that I'm out though I don't want to go back. Have too much going for me right now. Just want to help people now." Of course she still struggled with her kleptomaniac tendencies, but she was getting better. Having support helped. Also having a safe place was nice. As long as she wasn't caged in anymore she would be okay.

How far one would go for a meal indeed. Chel recalled quite a few white lies and sticky situations in her childhood.
"Hang on t'that feeling while y'can," Chel said with a scowl. She refrained from making a number of comments about how Deus had punishments far worse than prison, namely death. "You need any other help while I still got free time?"

"Oh no I think I'm okay. I'm sure you're busy and all and with my rambling I've probably taken up a lot of your time, huh?" Diana scratched the back of her head, trying to come up with a good apology. "This has been lots of fun though."
