"Even when we give up all hope, there's space enough to grow..."

The faun's fear began to fade away, and with it the taint of his powers. He watched her with a look of wonder and trust in his eyes, like a young child who had just seen a magic trick. However, he knew that this girl was no magic trick, but simply magic itself. Okay, Koda... Calm down. You're okay! The last thing you want is to creep her out. She... she accepts me... I... woah... Despite the fact that he was very obviously still shocked by the girl's attitude toward him, he began to calm down a bit more, carefully taking a seat on the floor in front of her. "W-Well... this might sound weird, but I really like science and engineering... I love building and taking things apart. So, umm... people don't ask me to watch their phones anymore... because I really like taking things apart." the boy explained, obviously growing calmer and calmer by the second, "What do you like to do...?"

Nia Hall “Never put your faith in a Prince. When you require a miracle, trust in a Witch.” ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓ Nia smiled to herself as Koda looked to be calming down. There we go, I don't mean to intimidate him, heh! Once Koda sat down, she joined him, sitting down across from him. Nia listened as Koda talked about what he enjoyed doing. He had to be smart to do those kinds of things. He certainly was bright! The comment about watching peoples' phones made Nia giggle a bit. He's funny, too!
Hm, me? I enjoy growing plants and listening to music! I like to grow different plants, a variety really. My dad is keeping watch over my fish back home, and I grow tea plants off of his tank! My taste in music varies, but I do prefer instrumentals over anything with vocals. If someone has a nice, smooth voice, though, I would listen. Like if you sang! Nia told him, reaching over and lightly poking him in the left shoulder. Oh, I also really adore learning, like, a lot! At my old school, I had the highest GPA in my grade. Made my dad real proud! Nia beamed at the thought of her father. Speaking of, what's your family like? Nice people to have made you, I'm assuming!

Koda's faun ears flattened at her compliment, his blush quickly covered by a thick layer of deer fur. Luckily, it didn't last too long, for he was soon lost in thought as he listened to Nia's life. It sounded so... nice! It was hard to imagine someone like him living that sort of life. His little heart sunk the moment she mentioned his parents, his hazel eyes growing softer as he thought about it all. "M-My dad died when I was eight... he was a wonderful faun, really. He would always tell me to be who I wanted to be in life and to never apologize for it. Unfortunately, the other fauns never saw eye to eye with him on that since the laws of nature state that you should love yourself unconditionally and never attempt to change it. People like me are usually rejected for it... My mom and my younger brother aren't exactly the nicest people in the world, either. My mom always wanted to change who I was and try to force me to be someone I wasn't. She raised my brother to be this irritating little brat w-who treats women poorly simply because of the fact that he's a buck. I know for a fact that dad wouldn't be proud of him for acting like that..." Once the boy realized that he had been rambling, he quickly covered his mouth, his eyes wide. He didn't mean to pour his whole soul out to her like that! For whatever reason, he felt like he could be himself around her. He hadn't really let himself anyone that unconditionally since before his father passed away... He hesitated before carefully lowering his hands and settling them in his lap. "W-What's your family like, m╼ I mean, um, Nia?"

Nia Hall “Never put your faith in a Prince. When you require a miracle, trust in a Witch.” ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓ Nia listened to Koda as he spoke. She smiled sadly as he spoke about his father. It must have been a terrible loss for him. His mother was trying to change who he was.. How horrible. Nia's smile faded to a soft frown as Koda explained the way his mother and brother acted toward him.
He doesn't deserve any of that... Nia thought to herself. She blinked when Koda covered his mouth. Oh, my family? Well, Nia began, rocking back and forth a bit, I lived with my dad back in his apartment. It's been just the two of us for the longest time. I don't remember a time at all when my mother was around. She left us after I was born. She didn't want to be around us... Nia trailed off for a moment, sighing inwardly.
But, that's okay. My dad works his best and I appreciate him a lot! Nia concluded, nodding her head lightly. So, what now? Wanna do something, or just hang out here for a while? Nia giggled a bit to herself as she asked, nudging his shoulder lightly.
