Elpis watched, nodding with focus before attempting to move, wincing as she tried and found the task rather trying. That, she noted, was a perk, especially as she studied the size, continuing to struggle against the adhesive firmly, grinning.

"Good news," Elpis grinned. "This seems super useful. Maybe when an enemy is charging you can use it to stop them?" She offered, trying again to lift her foot.

"Get a blow it, or run away. Though poles and throwing weapons might be a problem."

She nodded calmly.

Goretti laughed and nodded. "Sometimes it makes me a little tired, though—and sometimes it sort of doesn't work at all. But I've been practicing to try and work that out! I've used it on enemies before. Of course, if they're running too fast…"

He laughed awkwardly and rubbed the back of his neck.

"…Sometimes their foot get stuck midstep and they wind up falling down. Like, face first. I almost even feel bad sometimes."

He laughed, but it was clear that he felt bad every time.

"But, to be honest, I don't like fighting. Usually I use it to slow them down, help whoever they were messing with, and get away. Wish I could teleport like them, though," he sighed.

Elpis gave an understanding nod, and smiled.

"Sometimes help means defensing someone, though. Stopping them is good, but then there's weapons."

A pause.

"And it's not wrong to dislike fighting. You can learn self defense without doing lasting harm. Some martial arts practice using leverage." Elpis nodded, and pat a leg.

"Plus, one thing you can try doing if you can is knock balance off. Get a leg behind, and kick the back of the knee. It can usually knock someone down." Elpis noted. "You can talk to a small number of them too. I've managed that. If they won't talk and get too close, a punch in the diaphram is dangerous, but can knock the wind out of them." Elpis approached, and motioned to the area.

"But be careful. Too hard can kill. Your heart is somewhere nearby here. Do you need a living target for your magic?"

"Oh, I'm good at that!" Goretti promised; he had long since practiced tripping people. "I'm good at leg stuff. I play soccer, so I know how to get my leg in there and trip people up. Not that I do when I'm playing for real! That's bad sportsmanship. But I get what you're saying. And—My magic works on anything! Well. Anything that I've tried. It's just not exactly the easiest to aim. It pretty much always seem to go for below people, like trying to glue them to whatever they're standing on. But I'm sure if I keep practicing I'll be able to control it a little better."

"Bad sportsmanship can mean survival in battle." Elpis grinned. "What you do not do on the field is good to do to enemies."

Elpis nodded, then took some steps backwards.

"I have an idea, since you can hit anything. Try to aim in front of me as I run at you. See if it can stop me. It's okay if I fall - it means in a fight you might help someone escape a persuing enemy." The supoer senshi nodded, taking a few more steps back.

"Ready when you are!"

Goretti debated her advice for a few moments and then reluctantly nodded; she did have a point about sportsmanship in battle versus on the field. There were rules when you were playing soccer.

There weren't any rules in battle—and, even if there were, there was no chance that the Negaverse was going to follow them. Not when they didn't seem to care about anyone but themselves.

Still, he seemed to have a hard time sounding excited about using his magic on her if it meant she could get hurt, but he swallowed his concerns and nodded. "I'm ready," he said, taking his stance. He didn't often use his attack more than once per battle so he could only hope that this time worked as effectively as last time.

"Just remember, it's only practice." Elpis nodded reassuringly, and then ran forwards, moving to act as 'enemy-like' as possible so he had a good target for hid practice.

Oh, sure, she might trip on the glue when he cast, but sacrifices were to be made, especially to help others survive, and the senshi was moving with this in mind as she ran, focused ahead, grinninG>

"When you're ready, cast!"

Goretti nodded reluctantly, but she was already running at him; he sucked in a breath and focused before calling the name of his attack again. He pointed just below her feet, and almost immediately a puddle of glue, stick as anything, bubbled up from the ground.

…But just in case, he was already instinctively bolting to the side, trying to make room so that if his magic didn't hit, he could have still gotten away.

That part wasn't even planned; it was just instinct kicking in. No one wanted to be in front of a raging bull so he was all too happy to clear the way—but still managed to stay close in case something went wrong.

Elpis' feet stuck in the glue, first one, then the other, and the sudden change n momentum between her feet and upper body cause her to jerk, and nearly fall forwards. She recovered quickly, and looked down, struggling a moment before grinning. Not onlt had Gretti pulled it off - he'd dodged, and the super senshi threw up a thumbs up, nodding and grinning at the direction he went.

"Great job! Looks like this might work, even a little!"

Was she proud? Maybe, but it was pride in Goretti, and not herself. He'd done well - and deserved praise for it.

Goretti laughed, seeming a bit embarrassed but equally flattered. "It does okay for me," he said sheepishly, reaching up to rub at the back of his neck. "I just gotta work on making it stronger, but uhm…thanks. I mean—more than just the nice words. I mean, for…being willing to work with me. A lot of people don't take me seriously, or tell me to go home. But I like that you tried. That means a lot to me."

He seemed serious—earnest. "Thank you."

"Strength just takes time, but tactics can help." Elpis smiled, nodding. "And... Hey. I figure, if you're out here, well, at least I can help you protect yourself. Any time."

Did she LIKE seeing a Chibi out to fight? No, not at all - in fact it bothered her. But what was important was if they were dragged in, that she take care of them. Watch for them.

They needed it.

"The other best thing to do? Practice, as much as you can."

Goretti nodded and breathed a slow sigh. "Yeah, that makes sense. And eat all my vegetables and get lots of sleep, right?" he asked, laughing—except he blinked. "…Wait, what time is it? If it's late, I gotta get home."

He blinked, somewhat frantic to check his senshi phone suddenly. "Oh—yikes! Hey—Elpis—I gotta thank you so much, can we do this again some time? I can call! I wanna talk or something, but I don't want my dad to catch me out! Or wonder where I am! He'd freak so bad."

He forced a laugh, but this time it was nervous; his father both amused him…and worried him greatly. He didn't want to disappoint him, and if he was asked…

Goretti just couldn’t lie.

But he didn't want to worry his father, so he just kept quiet about this whole senshi thing.

"But I'll keep practicing—and maybe I can meet up with you and show you if I get any better!"
