16. Fishing was never your favorite, but you give it a go- and you get yourself a goby! What a nice little fish. You get a token.

She walked up to the water and dipped a hoof in. Her foot fluff floated in a distracting manner. Beh, it was fresh water. She was more of a salt water kind of doe! Before she could change her mind, Tidal Wave punched the water and withdrew her hoof.

Oh look, a funny looking fish was caught in her fluff! Really, it wasn't even worth eating...what a shame. She made the exchange and thanked the proprietor with a nod before walking on.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Honestly, Shiny Thing didn't want to go anywhere near the pond. If there was one thing you could be certain would be living in a pond, it was frogs. And after the events of today, she was a little more than paranoid that the amphibious creatures were out to get her. But it was getting late, she was getting tired, and most of the games she hadn't been to yet were down for the night. So, it was either fish or go home and Shiny Thing was dead set on getting in one last game before passing out. Even if it meant putting a hoof in what could be frog-infested water.

And it would be over quick, right? Just put a hoof in, pull it out, and throw back whatever unfortunate fish gets caught. Easy. No problem. She could do this. Shiny Thing spent so much time trying to reassure herself that she didn't notice the rather large rock between her and the pond. As she approached the water her hoof caught on the stone and she tumbled in with a gargled cry of despair. After a fair bit of splashing, her head finally broke the surface and she crawled back to land. And, of course, waiting for her at the pond's edge was one of them. It croaked loudly, no doubt laughing at her, and all Shiny Thing could muster in response was a pathetic cry. The doe needed a long, long rest after the day she'd had.

Well... Better Than You eyed the pond before him... He'd already kissed a frog today. He shut his eyes tight and ducked his nose in, nabbing something wriggling with a grimace. He withdrew quickly and dropped what he'd caught... a fish!

Thank the MotherFather. He claimed his token and fled.

Fierce wasn't the biggest fan of all the swamps water dwelling creatures. Still, the idea of a chance at fish and prizes brought her right up to the edge of the pond. "Alright water...what do you have for me today."

Fierce shoves her snout into the water and immediately regrets her decision to play this game! Yanking her face from the water and spitting the vile slime-barb fish from her mouth, going so far as the drag her tongue across the grass to remove the taste. "Augh, of all the things!" Fierce couldn't even stand to look at the ugly fish, kicking it away and listening it flail and flop back into the pond with a sploosh. She quickly marched to collect her token. "Between this and those vile mushrooms..I should just avoid games of chance all together." She would never admit that the mushrooms had been a game of choice, she could still smell the stink flower..guh...

Fair Hunter smiled at all the fishers. So many of them were doing quite a good job! Perhaps there was hope after all... although two of them had ended up in the pond. She nodded at a Zikwa doe with a large fluffy tail. "Almost all of them. Some of them were bycatch from when I was adding the frogbit, but nearly everything's from deeper waters. This pond was here when I got here, but I had to make it a lot bigger; there weren't really any fish in it, just some frogs."

She feels the familiar tickle of something on her nose, the same as she'd felt before when she snagged an eel, and tried her best to snap at it in the same lightning speed to nab it. And then... she grabs out a bass! She watches it wriggle a little bit with glee and then drops the poor thing back into the water where it can breathe, and picks up a token. "Yay," she cheers, and flicks her ears at Fair Hunger. "Thank you! Fishing's fun," and skitters off.

15. You shut your eyes and feel around in the water. You feel an eel! Pulling it up, Fair Hunter nods approvingly. You get a token.

He closed his eyes and stuck both hooves in the water. He counted while he felt around. He got to four when he felt something brush up by his leg. With a cry of victory he pulled it out. A writhing eel. Score! Looking to the ridge-backed booth host, he was a little sad to trade it for a token. It looked like good eating.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Fish, fish, fish. It was all about the fish. Stump drifted back toward the water as if he'd been caught on a hook himself. He just couldn't stay away. No, he didn't want to stay away. Not when he could prove, again, that he wasn't just a lump.

Nose deep in the water, he lunged again when he felt something brush against him. The carp fought harder, slapping his cheeks with fins and tail, but the plucky kiokote was not about to be bested by a fish of all things. Plucking it free of the water long enough to earn his prize, he let it tumble from his mouth, head over tail, and let out a triumphant whoop!

5. You nose around the bottom of the pond, but you don’t manage to find anything. Fair Hunter shakes her head and lets back in the pond to clean your muddy snout. No token for you, though- she doesn’t have that much pity.

Dance for the Sun had always liked fishing. It required quick reflexes and even keener eyesight, both of which he prided himself on (somewhat without justification). He may have been a skilled dancer, but fishing... Not so much.

After rooting around in the water for quite some time, he ended up empty-handed. With a muddy snort he stamped his hoof indignantly, glaring at a fish some distance away in the pond that he couldn't get from here. Fine then! After being allowed to rinse off his nose Tribute pranced away, a bit irritated that he'd gotten all wet with nothing to show for it.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Juggling his three tokens, Distant Tidings moved on to the booth next door – which happened to be the murky fishing pond. That served him well enough, he'd intended to come back after all, the consummate fisher that he was.

He had to admit though, without the urgency of bitter fruit filling his mouth, it took rather more doing to lower his head into the scummy pool...being able to actually see the dankness beyond the frogbit that coated the surface now that he was actually looking where he was going did deflate his bravado a little...

Nevertheless. He firmly closed his eyes and kept his teeth together, lowering his head into the depths...the frogbit leaves washed against his face, and he was just considering giving up the ghost – when a little flip of a something bumped into his muzzle.

He snapped and reared – it was a fish! A little bluegill. Splendid, splendid!
"Thank you kindly!" he all but sang as he collected another token – that was four now, and he had to hold them carefully between his teeth, but more was better than less, and he disappeared merrily into the crowd.

Since she'd just been at Gecko's booth and hadn't spotted her, she tries next door at the fishing booth which she'd also been at yesterday. As before, there seems to be a pretty good lineup, but Hush feels more confident today in her abilities since she'd done so well last time. Besides, she thinks, fishing is pretty easy! She smiles, contentedly, her tail waving behind her, as she waits for her own turn in the pond. She only hopes that the fish haven't all been scared to the deeper end by all the commotion so far, today. After all, it's late afternoon, now, rather than early morning when she'd come the day before.

What if... but no, she just has to wait and see.

When it is finally her turn, she takes a breath to calm her nerves, and tries to block out everyone watching her. Then, she plunges her head into the water, and feels something bump her nose. Quickly, she snatches it and pulls back. It doesn't feel like a fish.. Neither does it have that particular fishy-taste.

Dropping it, she realizes it's a token. A token! Well, then. With a grin, and a soft laugh, she shakes her head. "Well.. it's no fish, but it's perhaps just as good! I think I'll take it." Amused, and yet a little flustered, the zikwa quickly shakes the water from her face and flashes the acha a small, if shy, grin.

He couldn't help returning. He wanted to prove he could catch fish. Diving down again, he came up with another fish, but... It wasn't big. Maybe there were no big fish. If so.. he'd just needed to always catch one was all. (Token Win)

"Well..." Spitting out a glob of muck, "That didn't work." Thankfully fair hunter let him use the pond to clear himself off. He wiped it away with his hoof and water, and was clean once more. "I suppose I will try again later." oh well.

Something moving in the pond caught Fair Hunter's eye. Glaring, she dipped into the pond and pulled out a HUGE bullfrog. "Gecko!" she cried. "Your frogs keep getting into my booth! This is a fishing booth, not a frogging booth!"

Healing process dunks her head under the water, nosing around for anything she can. She grabs hold of what she thinks is a fish but when she pulls her head up it's just some frogbit. She spits it out and a fish comes out with it. Fair Hunter passes her a token and with a quick thanks, Healing Process was off to the next booth to try her luck some more.
