JD liked hard things and also unwrapping things.

He tried to communicate this with a very suggestive look directed at Miss Winter, whose name he had already sort of slandered in an interview earlier.

He chose a microphone, because duh, rockstar, and maintained eye contact as he selected a blue and gold wrapping paper. He roughly rolled it around in the paper, sticking tape in sort of random places, and then doused the entire thing in glitter.

It looked, in a word, horrific.

"I'm better at taking things off," he drawled finally. And then he frowned a lot, because it was her fault he had gotten turned into a pig and while that hadn't been an entirely bad thing, he was still a little sour about it.

Had Deacon followed JD to this very booth? Yes. Was he there in hoping to witness a bit of schadenfreude at the other boil's expense? ********. No matter how much the tabby wanted to appear outwardly indifferent, the fact that he blindly grabbed for an item and wrapping materials suggested that his mind was not really on the game.

Further emphasized by just how badly his wrapping job turned out, deliberately slow though it might have been. At least it looked better than the aforementioned rockstar's package. Marginally.

It seemed that he was admiring his work with some sort of out-of-place awe when the other boil spoke, when he was actually just trying not to look directly at either the Professor or JD.

Was not trying to stop him right away just as bad as participating?

User ImageWrapping gifts had never been an activity that seemed terribly important to the boil. You bought a gift for someone's birthday or anniversary or whatever, you tied some paper around it, and everything was good to go. Sometimes, if you were lucky, the box itself would look professional enough that you wouldn't have to wrap it at all. Those were Brenley's favorite kinds of gifts.

For all that he had read up on Christmas, he had never considered how much more important gift wrapping would be there. It made sense. In the spirit of cultural sharing and education, he supposed he could give it more of a shot than he usually did. Already full of experience with wrapping neat, square gifts for his own booth, Bren chose the boxes on the left, seeing as how they were noticeably more uniform. He easily chose some of the most stylish wrapping paper available and a roll of single sided tape because... what. Why would one use double sided in an instance like this. Eventually, he shrugged. It took all kinds.

Unfortunately, choosing flattering paper and a suitable adhesive was not all one needed in order to succeed at wrapping. The reaper did a horrible job in the end, folding his edges and trimming his ends haphazardly, even dangerously. Winter's disapproval had him slinking away, silently vowing to come back better, stronger, and faster.

Oh present wrapping!

Amy walked up to the booth with a smile, grabbing some wrapping paper that had a red backround with some small reindeer foxfire minis on it. She thought it was too cute for words which was why she picked it. Another question would be who these presents were being given to, since they have nothing inside of them. While she pondered, Amy grabbed the nearest tape around, which happened to be some double-sided tape. As she wrapped her box, she thought of what it would be like to wrap presents for a little brother or sister, and to see the look on their faces when they saw what they recived.

She wasnt paying attenton to the little bit of tape that was stuck on the outside of the box, so when she went to hand it in, the paper tore off since the little bit of tape was stuck to her hand. Upon realizing this, Amys face went from happy to just sad, sad, sad plant in a meer five seconds. Well, she can try again tomorrow she supposed.

He let out a sigh and just quietly took her by the wrist and meandered off to somewhere else in hopes that she'd start to feel better about things ... eventually.

Skipping from the last booth, Sio paused behind the others around the booth, curiously watching the shenanigans. She had no friends to give a gift to yet, but practice makes prefect, so she might as well give it a try.

Taking a box from the left side, Sio snag a white wrapping paper covered in blue snowflakes to wrap it with. Grabbing a free roll of tape, she tentatively peel off a few stripes of double sided tape for her own use. Using excess stripes of wrapping paper, she also manage to make a few flowers to stick to the present.

Deciding to try her luck at the Hard Mode offered, Sio picked up a long thin item, along with a striped wrapping paper. A double sided tape was the only one she could find, trying to wrap the item with thwm. Unfortunately, her wrapping skills weren't up to task, the wrapping looking absolutely horrid. Blushing in embarrassment, Sio handed the wrapped item back to the Boothkeeper.

What in the world had Keen been thinking? She had been walking past the booth and for some reason paused and got instructions on how she needed to wrap a gift. Ugh, that was beyond a mess. The object was tubelike, but had a few weird protrusions. She got lovely wrapping though, it was a nice pale green shot through with pale blues. It matched her actually, and the banshee loved it. The tape, was single sided at least but she had issues getting it to stick where she needed it. She had managed to wrap the gift fairly nicely when all was said and done, but she had failed to add anything beyond a simple tag. It was apparently far from good enough.

With fed fresh flowers on her hand from the mystery stockings, Mahlan was excited what new booths has popped out, since from her observation there will be more booths opening after each events. Oh hey, there's Professor Winter? "Prof, what are ya doing-" but she was SSSH-ed and was made to help with wrapping some presents. Whose presents was these? Didn't want to spend any time more at this booth, Mahlan picked a box and some glittering-blue wrapping paper, taped one of the edges of the wrapping paper with the double-sided tape and rolled the box into it; there's some creases and uneven folds because of her method, but hey, it's not that bad. Finishing the wrapping with a big, overly big ribbon she placed the completed present at the pile and ran out before the professor can ask her to do more wrapping.

Professor Winter didn't looked that pleased with the celebrations; and here Piper thought she would have invited the cold and snow in. Ah well, she better be on her very best behavior just in case. One wouldn't want to upset the teacher out of class, as it might spell doom in the future ones...

Clapping her hands together, she then stretched her fingers and got to work. First she grabbed a cute little snowman patterned wrapping paper and began to straighten it out over the box. Several students were working their hardest as well, so she had to wait on the double sided tape, but it left her some time to consider, well, how to use it anyway. Once it was her turn, Piper began to wrap her box up as neatly as she could, carefully using the tape on the inside so that the box would look as uniform and straight as possible.

Once finished, and seeing that she had some time left, the ghoul added a few snowflakes on the side and then a white ribbon to top it off. Not bad for a first try at least.

When sneaking around professor Winter's booth, Mahlan got caught by some wrapping ribbon thrown haphazardly on the ground; the THUD sound from her drop alerted the teaching staff, and she was dragged once again to help with the presents. Aww.

Thinking if she did bad work on these presents, she will be spared from future chores, Mahlan took a head-sized present and started wrapping it without any notion of effort. Taking an ugh-ly rotten-egg colored wrapping paper, Mahlan rolled the present like a giant cough drop, tied the ends with the one-sided tape and put giant ribbons of suicide blue over the tape. There.

The professor gives her an annoyed glare, but she did DID her job, so she was let go. Yay for minimal effort!

Naturally Piper was up for a challenge. And naturally she had to pick the one present that was actually gangly and awfully shaped. Because she liked making it hard on herself okay.

Unfortunately, maybe it was a bit too hard. Did this kind of design work? Maybe she had been a little too bold in her choices of aesthetics... But nobody got to move forward playing it safe, right?

Despite her best efforts, the present would just not get the marks she wanted from the professor. Well, she did ask for it.

The complete lack of interest was a bit of a mood depressor but Tavi let his natural cheerful personality shine through. Helki was a puzzle at one minute Tavi almost thought he could make him happy, make him forget but it was a challenge. Everyday and slowly bit by bit it was chipping away at the kitsunes confidence. "Heeey! Pay attention!" He scolded softly, forcing the other by the arm to participate. Helki deserved to be happy and he was going to see to it!

Because.

"Hmm...it seems pretty simple right?" The kits head tilted cutely and ears twitched as he looked over the gameplay. Right maybe if he could win a prize for Helki the other would cheer up! A determined look flashed and he started in on the game glancing to make sure Helki stayed put. Picking the wrapping paper out wasn't hard Tavi went for the most sparkly because everyone liked that just in his determination to win something for Helki the corners of the papers were ripped but the sneaky fox demon tucked them expertly as possible under eachother to hide it.

Tape was next to hold the gift wrapping together and Tavi picked single sided. It was a bit of a struggle and at one point there was a piece of tape sticking off the end of the boils ear he had forgotten. "Grrr.." A frustrated little noise escaped as he looked over the box. It was terrible the tucks hadn't helped hide the tears and there was tape everywhere including on him and the table the present was being wrapped on. Red ears flattened to a red head and the kits teal eyes went sadly to Helki and he pouted, "it looks like something a minipet spit up." The whine was meant to get sympathy from the other boil but it sounded a little like an attempt to be comical as well.

Winter gave the boil a sad look for his attempt then promptly shooed him back so someone else could try.

The moment Piper was stuck yet again with an awkward looking object was the moment she just decided to give right up because not again not even for professors to notice her.
