Ian laughed softly when Nell gave in and selected a few bright yellow sunflowers to include in the bouquet. "I think those'll go really nicely," he offered. "Sunflowers kind of remind you of the harvest, so it works fine!" He chuckled, his reasoning very obviously stretched as a joke. Nell seemed like a very vibrant, colorful person indeed, if her clothing was any indication.
"Yeah, I understand. It's nerve-wracking but people are so willing to help, they don't mind at all." He smiled. Everyone he'd met with had been so accommodating and ready to help him, even if they lived over in Gambino like Henry and Ethiriel did. Not that it was an especially long drive, but it was clearly out of there way to come here. In hindsight, maybe he should have gone to see them instead...
He chuckled when Nell mentioned the possibility of just picking a name at random. "That seems like the easiest option, doesn't it? Maybe... giving them some to choose from would be easiest. Just automatically selecting a name for them seems a bit forceful..." It was tricky, like a lot of things concerning Raevans. They were technically newborns, but had the mind and half a body of an adolescent, fully capable of making choices on their own. Though he supposed people imposed names on regular newborns without their input, as well.. "Everything is so confusing and overwhelming!" He laughed as he started to gingerly insert a few of the sunflowers into the bouquet.

"That's the spirit," she said with a bark of laughter. She could definitely get behind some ridiculous rationalizing to make her very out-of-season purchases seem a bit more reasonable. And while they didn't necessarily go with the neutral theme she was going for with the room, she couldn't help but think they would be enjoyed regardless when she saw them being put into the bouquet.
"I suppose I should be glad there's people I can go to for help rather than having to figure it all out myself." Going at it completely alone would be a task that was a bit too daunting for her to even consider, much worse than a few moments of awkwardness that came with having to call a stranger. "Giving them a choice would be nice, but..." Her nose wrinkled as she frowned, more potential issues popping up in her mind the more she thought about it. "Well, I'm sure we'll get things sorted out by the time they're ready to come home, at least! Her own laugh was a tad bit more nervous than confident, but it was better than nothing, at least.

As he finished up arranging the sunflowers in the bouquet, Ian smiled. "Yeah, it's tricky. They might not even know many words, so names would be hard to choose. Maybe just... a few options depending on gender." He wrapped the bouquet in brown paper and secured it with a bright orange ribbon. "And I certainly hope so, especially the basics. Though I guess a spontaneous shopping trip could be fun, if a bit tiring for them."
He handed the bouquet to Nell along with a few packets of flower food. "Okay! Just clip the ends of the stems and replace the water every few days, sprinkle some food in the water, and they should be good for a while!" He dusted his hands off on his apron and smiled at Nell again. "Is there anything else I can do for you?" He asked.

"There's only one way to find out, I guess! Hopefully we'll find out sooner than later, though, or I might go crazy waiting." It was a minor miracle she hadn't been hounding the Lab for updates, though the preparations that had to be made for the raevan kept her busy enough to not think about it too much.
It took an effort of will not to stick her face in the bouquet and smell it like she used to do when she was a girl, instead she gave Ian a bright smile and shook her head. "Nope! That should be it! Hey, let me know if you need help with anything, my number should be on that phone list the Lab gave out!" And with a farewell after paying for the flowers, and as good of a wave as she could manage with her arms full of with the bouquet she walked out of the shop with a bounce in her step.
