The lemur mare listened with heartfelt watery eyes as they glistened in response to Andre's pain. She hadn't fully understood why her own feelings made her instinctively lie beside him though her heart was thankful. Noting him dozing off to a sleep he had forbode any time in his life she rested her head against his neck. Still his words denied him solace cutting deeply and crude into a once proud stallion's heart now dismantled and broken. His question made her ponder many things especially how she herself had been viewed being different from most fluid speaking soquili within the Kawani lands. Her thoughts carried her to Kail acting like she was odd then dropping her like a potato rotten with no use. Then there was Thokya that she agreed to have foals with who corrected her speech teaching her the "correct" way to be a native to this vast land. Essentially, Kimimela just wanted to be herself still expecting backlash and retort from those that didn't understand. Andre though didn't want to change her which opened the lemur's heart just a little to bring him peace in his tortured mind.
"Kimi fights" she spoke quietly, "to live as she has done for many years". Closing her eyes she hummed a little strange soothing sound only her troupe knew when times were troubling, "Kimi fights for you now". Perhaps it was the warmth that made her drift into her own slumber or the thought of the old stallion finally finding peace for simply a pause in time. Her soothing voice though played on like a flute Tirranna played sitting inside the teepee as the drumming rains cascaded downward soaking the ground.Kimimela wc: 281

Her voice was fleeting as he finally did fall asleep beside the small lemur mare. Her words but a whisper that didn't quite reach him. The sound of her hum drowned out most the turmoil that was starting to pile up on his mind. He shifted slightly, turning his head just a bit as his dreams turned to nightmares.
It was a day like most others, The family rose to greet the sun, the dancers taking to the air. Andre himself was there with them twisting and turning through the air. Looping in and out of the trails of his parents and siblings. But all was not as it was going to be, the scene changed to one of pain. Red painted the ground, screams filled the air. Hooves pounded against the ground as those members who bore no wings tried to run. Above the chaos a purple and silver colored mare. Leathery wings beat at her sides as her bat masked face peer down at what she had created.
"Run, run, as fast as you can" came her voice to his dreams.
His sister, Neva, younger she was his favorite at the time. Now was the one bent on destroying what he called family. Andre tried taking on his sister many times, leaving him with the scars on hos grey pelt. Her laughter was an echo in his ears.
Raising his head off the ground, Andre looked around into the din of light that shown down through the trees. His sides heaved as he pulled in large breaths of air. Too close, the memories were too close. With a quiver, trying to shake off the laughter that rang in his ears. He looked down at the mare that was at his side. She had remained? He had given her all reason to run from him, to flee from his pain. But she was still there.
'Kimi fights, to live as she has done for many years' The mare's voice trickled through the laughter like rays of light through the shadows. 'Kimi fights now for you.'
Puzzlement took over as he laid in silence, his ears flicking to catch anything that disturbed the quiet. Tired eyes remained on watch as he turned her words over in his head, he didn't want anyone to fight for him. That only lead down a dead end path, if anyone was to fight, it would be him. Tooth and hoof if need be. Glancing back towards Kimi, he watched her, there was a new glow to his gaze. Dim as it was, but it was there.
"Perhaps you are right, Kimi, But you won't have to fight. Alone."

Singing echoed throughout the land letting the voices mingle in unison as the troupe of lemurs called out into the night. Such music calling outward to the others both in distance and close proximity. Lying close the warmth of the others gave strength but also compassion as unity in the bonded family. Once the singing stopped the night flickered with a thousand lights as the moonlighted the way shadowed family in the trees. All was calm in the world save for few moments of the troupe when someone shifted in their sleep. Endless nights were spent effortlessly in these moments capturing life and serenity within a world of love and understanding.
Kimimela sighed deeply a light sleep echoing over her as an eye opened realizing she was here with Andre not with her troupe. For a single moment or several the lemur mare felt safe in the warmth that kept her alive. Andre seemed anxious as she felt his sides heaved figuring he had slipped into a nightmare again. Nuzzling into him without a sound she continued her efforts to give him strength while being simply a presence. This moment of quietness she found peaceful daring not to disturb it as her dreams remained constant with the nightly troupe nestled together. Reaching outward to preserve that memory helped her better heal Andre and his own tortured visions.
She murmured softly though hearing his own words, "Kimi for Andre.... Fight she will... whatever it takes". Perhaps she was still dreaming or subconsciously her heart spoke for her. Back in a slumber once again she flicked an ear just concentrating on the silence. A simple moment of tranquility suspended deeply within the fabric of time.Kimi wc: 283
