One paw was tucked loosely to his chest as the other dangled limply to a side, and he stared up at her with his yellow-orange eyes. He was more than a little proud of his handiwork - and just look at that impressive hat on her head! (He loved hats. Especially large, dramatic hats.)
Oh, oh! He had a quote for this! From somewhere. "Have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart. Live in the question, " he purred out, licking his lips and still tasting chicken nuggets. Only to think of it, he'd only eaten one. He should really fix that. He lifted the paw dangling at his side and stared disdainfully at the mud on it for a moment before he finally sighed and dragged his tongue across it, making a face. "Peh. - you'll probably find out when you cast your magic, so try it first so as not to work yourself into a panic."
As for protecting people - his eyes took on a fire and he lifted the (still dirty) paw triumphantly. "That's right! You are a hero! The likes of one Yashuhiro!" Who was Yasuhiro? It didn't matter, surely he was someone heroic somewhere in the world. "Oh! I can introduce you to Altais! He's my other senshi, him and Cor Caroli, although I don't see much of him - " His ears drooped a little, and he hadn't realized he'd stopped rhyming. "I'm still sort of new at this, you know. I only learned to speak last year in the snow."

Sedna made a face, and then let out a groaning laugh. "I gotta solve all the things, Nicodemus---I live in the question and then quickly hop to the next question!" The senshi then gasped, loudly, eyes going starry to think that she could cast magic. "Oh, cool---how do I cast magic?" She paused. "Oh!" Sedna, at that point, gently placed Nico back on the ground, beside the container of chicken nuggets. She stayed close though, kneeling across from him and peering at him with bright eyes with her chin resting on top of her knees. "So is that what Guardians do? They find senshi and make them senshi?" She wiggled in anticipation. "I'd love to meet Altais and Cor Caroli!" What cool names, too! "You're new too, huh?" She gave him a fox eyed smile. "Say uh---Nicodemus---where do you live, huh? And is there a way to---yanno---contact you?" Talking cats...it wasn't too much of a stretch if they could use phones, right? She wanted to be able to ask him all the things again!

Nico's eyes glinted. "Love is a question that has no answer." And that was just - he really truly had to remember that one. Had he read it somewhere? He didn't really remember.
Magic, magic, he sort of had this one! "If you open your mind the words will come to you in kind, " Nico said with a sagely nod, and he truly was on a roll with this one wasn't he?
Chicken! He gave and excited little gasp and plunged his face into the box again, emerging with the nugget hanging halfway out of his mouth as he mumbled around it, "Mmmphmmmmmggghnm."
Then, seemed to think better of it and bit the chicken nugget in half, dropping one part back in the box and chewing and swallowing the other. "I have, a, uh, one of these, " and he fished his little kitty communicator, decked with a heart and a rather excessive amount of glitter, out of subspace. "So please add it to your phone if you please! I don't quite get how it works, it has within a few quirks!"
As for where he lived. His ears drooped a bit. "I've been staying with Altais here and there, but - he himself is living on his cousin's couch, and his cousin's not to know I'm there. But do not despair! I am, as you see, and alleycat, of the greatest pedigree!" Cue dramatic pose. Nevermind he was basically a dirty marshmallow.

Sedna opened her mouth, but nothing came out. She then shut it, and mulled it over for a moment before she laughed. "That's true! Maybe that's why keep writing about it---" Her lips made an 'oh' shape. "Alright..." She was tempted to try now, but...maybe right this moment wasn't such a good idea. After all, she was busy picking Nico's brain like he was picking those chicken nuggets. "...WOAH!" Seda loudly exclaimed, starting a bit as the cat produced a communicator out of no where. For some reason she was more surprised about this then the pen. Maybe it was the whole not only could the cat use a phone, but had a phone kind of thing. "Phone, uh---" Sedna patted down her coat, trying to find her iPhone, but produced nothing. "Oh---now that I think about it, all my clothes are gone--- where are they? Also, my phone is gone too---" She looked at him a bit dismayed. "Do I have to wait until I'm back to being not magical to record a number? Speaking of, too--- how do I go back to not being magical?" Aww. Sedna drooped when Nico drooped, and well, was a bit skeptical about the alley cat thing. "No offense, Nicodemus---but I've seen alley cats way cleaner than you---" The senshi's eyes widened, and she snapped her fingers. "Hey! HEY!" She leaned towards the kitten, radiating excitement from the thought she had. "You can stay with me, too, alright!? You can stay as long as you want, and you can come and go as you please! I'll leave one of my windows cracked for you, alright!? If you want to be there a lot, you can, and if you don't want to, you don't have to---and I'll make a spot where you can sleep and I'll buy you some chicken nuggets---" A short pause after that spiel. "Just don't tell my landlord, alright?" She grinned a bit sheepishly at him. "I'm not supposed to have pets, but they never check in on me, so what they don't know won't hurt them, yeah!?" She winked at him.

"Oh!" Nico gasped as he realized - "Of course! My apologies!" He backed away from his chicken nuggets and did another little flip, more easily this time, and produced a nice little phone that fell neatly onto the grass. "This is for you, to see you through! You can take pictures of senshi and they'll be added, you can hit this button to go to space - " He tapped at the button with his paw without actually pressing him, then flashed her a grin and flicked his ears as he implored, "Please don't do that now though, I'd hate to see these chicken nuggets get cold."
He didn't seem to realize he'd totally dropped the rhyming for about five seconds. It was a very deliberate thing on his part, after all, and sometimes he just got too excited.
As for normal, "What is this word we use, 'normal'? We do in fact live in the paranormal, to make it formal!" Not his best. But still good. A+ effort Nicodemus.
Nico outright pouted at her then, his hat tilting a little far on his head. "It's not my fault, " and he sounded distinctly whiny, "A dog chased me through the mud! He perhaps mistook me for a spud!"
Buuuuuuuuut --
"Really?! Really and truly?!" He didn't know what he was more excited about, really, the prospect of an open window that led to a realm of no-dogs, or the fact that hot chicken nuggets might be a more regular staple in his diet. "I promise promise to be nice and quiet, I surely won't start a riot!

Sedna's mind was getting blown---on top of learning she was a senshi, obviously. Nico produced a phone--- a phone. A senshi phone. She wondered how it operated, how it made calls, and then she told herself, DUH, magic! Magic power and magic minutes and--- " I CAN GO INTO SPACE BY PUSHING THIS BUTTON ON THIS PHONE!?" It was still definitely a good thing they were in a deserted part of the park---though Sedna's voice probably made echoes. Mind definitely blown. Sedna was staring bugged eyed at the phone. " Where in space does it take me, Nicodemus?" The kitten produced a very good point though, one that drew Sedna out of her stunned stupor. "Yeah---okay, you're right----normal wasn't the right word---" She was still staring at her new phone, distracted. "How do I become Olga again?" She finally picked it up, looking it over before she snapped a photo of Nico. "I took a picture of you---is that how it works?" Also, she almost really wanted to push that space button---but her heart would probably explode from over-stimulation. She looked up and grinned at him, nodding her head energetically. "Really and truly!" Sedna echoed. "Gosh---I couldn't just leave you out here all alone---not after---" It was here, the young woman's enthusiasm tapered in a bit to give way to genuine appreciation. "Not after you gave me a shot at hope I've been so desperately needing---it's the least I can do---and my extreme pleasure!"

Nico gave a little meep of surprise at her shocked declaration, his ears pressing flat against his furry head. Although beyond that he hardly seemed phased at all, sitting now so his tail was tucked neatly at his side, twitching contently at the end. "To Sedna, of course! Where did you think, a horse?" That was less good. Even he knew that wasn't really good. His whiskers twitched.
"Not the senshi but the planet! Star. Asteroid. - you'll see." He should've probably known, but then, he was a little distracted at the prospect of MORE CHICKEN.
"Also the moon, that can happen soon, when it grows full like a bowl - but first you need an upgrade or a pearl, and both of those are up to me as wel...rl."
Twitch twitch.
Seeing the chance for a photo coming, Nico became a catloaf as he tried to tuck his muddy paws under him and gave her wide eyes. "I think you just focus on yourself as you wish to be, and then perhaps the girl is you will see!" That was deep. Worth keeping. "I believe so, yes! We work on the same system, or so I've been told! - I don't really do technology, " he admitted, dropping his rhyme again in favor of shrugged shoulders.
He gave a little delighted mew turned purr then, cheerfully winding around her legs and whipping his tail around them. "Thank you thank you! Oh this is so exciting!! You can tell me more about your knight!"

Sedna's mouth dropped open as she clutched the phone. "Sedna..." She echoed, her black eyes glazing over. It was either a planet, a star, or an asteroid...so...knights came from planets and celestial bodies and senshi...were either from planets, stars or asteroids? On top of that, she could go to the moon as well!? "Are there...other senshi from Sedna as well?" She asked the cat, assuming that she couldn't be the only being of Sedna...right? Even if it was her name? "Oh! Alright then---should we upgrade now then? So that I can go to the moon when it's full?" She tilted her head, and was then content to just look over the phone after taking the picture. She grinned at him. "You make a really cute cat loaf!" Oh, how she wished to plaster Nico all over tumblr. She'd probably get an insane amount of likes and shares! He was so cute. So cute. One hand reached down to put the kitten as he winded around her legs, and she beamed at him. "No, thank you---oh." Her cheeks turned a bit red. "Yanno, Nico---Imma call you Nico cuz it's short----there's not really a lot to say about the knight---and he's not really my knight---"

Nico shook his head, and was happy these were at least some questions he could answer. "Mmm-mmm. Just you. You're the sole guardian of Sedna, and that's why you carry the name!" he announced rather cheerfully. "There is no one in the universe that is quite the same!"
The kit fidgeted and returned to the box of nuggets, adjusting his hat atop his head as he flashed his senshi a proud smile. "Yes, yes! I'll take your phone if you don't mind, and I'll return it to you in kind! I should be able to do it, probably... " Surely it wasn't rocket science or anything like that!
"Loaf?" Nico tilted his head to a side and gave a confused little rumble. "I hope that means I don't look an oaf~" So clever. She should pet him for being so clever.
Thankfully, she caught on. "Nico's just the same as my name, so it's quite fine to call it mine, " he purred happily. Then blinked, staring at her with wide eyes. "Well, he not my knight - so by virtue it's your right!"

"Wha---" Sedna faltered. "...Just me? There's only me guarding a space rock?" She sat and let this sink in, still rather in disbelief. "...I can't believe I'm even in charge of a space rock!" She stared off for a moment, just trying to imagine having this conversation with her mom and dad. So yeah, mom and dad...I totally have guardianship over a space rock... "Say uh...how does that get decided? That I'm the guardian of Sedna...? Does some cosmic power just look down and is like 'oh hey, that person is doing a good job, so I'll make them a guardian of a space rock'....?" Sedna placed her phone down near Nico, so that he could make the changes, and tilted her head before beaming. "Oh, no, you don't look like an oaf at all!" She also thought his latest batch of rhymes were pretty darn good. "When cats lay with their paws folded under them, everyone calls it a cat loaf, because the cats look like bread! It's adorable!" Her fingers moved to scratched under his chin as she stared back at him, her cheeks burning a bit. "Oh---no---I don't think it's my right at all---besides, he's really not my knight! He's a knight of Polaris---" And she just imagined him saying that in regards to Polaris. My princess. Sigh. "...We're just friends! Well---kinda. Sorta. He's my friend. I don't....think I'm his..." Sedna stared off into the distance. "But you and I are friends now, yeah!?" She snapped back to, and gave the cat a fox eyed grin.

"Oh, oh! I know this!" Nico's tail swayed and he looked rather pleased with himself. "There's a thing in your chest called a starseed. It's your soul and stuff. It's the same one that the last guardian of Sedna had, just reborn in your body! Reincarnation I think! - also don't let anyone take that. The negaverse can and then you'd die until someone put it back." He nodded sagely, realizing too late to his horror and mortification that he hadn't done any of that in rhyme at all. "Uh. Uh. So don't expect much in the way of slacks. Slack. I meant slack."
He purred then, happily, delighted with the chin scratching and tilting his head back for more. "I should hope I'm not bread, no one'd eat me with the red! - although if they did I'd be dead. How tragic."
Oh-hooooo. This knight thing was worth investigating further! - but until then - "Of course! I am now both guardian and friend, here to protect you until the bitter end!" He gave her a wide, toothy smile, which might or might not have been a little weird coming from a cat.

"Oh---okay, I know this at least---" Sedna smiled, looking pleased there was something she knew already, except her expression slipped into shock and surprise at that last bit. A hand came up to rest on her chest as she stared at him, her mouth falling open. " Reincarnation!?" She cried. "I've existed before!?" Mind blown. Like in all those movies and stories and it was happening to her. Man. So much to take in and ponder. She was distracted as she gave him his chin scratches, thinking. She didn't need a warning from Nico about not letting the Negaverse take it---and she knew those consequences. "Yeah---very tragic indeed...." She also realized she could have sat here all night asking him questions---and that maybe this would be best done at home now. She remembered what Polaris had said about signatures...and while she was no princess senshi, she had enough sense to know she was probably putting off a signature too---but she wasn't...feeling anyone else around...? So that was good? Sedna found Nico's toothy smile cute, and she grinned back at him, and then just reached to pick him up and cradle him to her chest with one arm. "Okay little buddy---" She picked up the cartoon of unfinished nuggets too, and went to put it back in her bag. "Let's head back to my place, yeah? It's warm, and you can get a bath---and then you can eat until your little belly is full---" She paused for a moment. "And then you can answer more of the things!" frayedflower Think we're heading towards a wrap here? *n*

"Sort of! Pretty much you, but also different from you, like the foot gone to the other shoe - or something like that, can't come up with it right off the bat, " and wow what a very clever string that was, it was too bad keeping a notebook on the streets really wasn't all that feasible or he'd be all over that like cheese on mac.
As before, speaking of pasta, he went limp as a noodle in her grasp. Cradled against her chest, he nuzzled greedily into her warmth, purring up a storm like the kitten starved for attention he actually was. "I can have more nuggets? - can the bath have bubbles? - I'd hate to cause you any troubles, but... " No, really, he'd answer all the things if there were bubbles and chicken nuggets in his near future. And cuddles. Lots of cuddles. (Couldn't promise he wouldn't fall asleep somewhere down the line - come to think of it, his eyelids were already drooping a little...)
