This was too rich. Teide had gotten exactly the response she wanted out of Aludra, and she pressed her advantage. The other girl had rolled sideways, and Teide seized her newfound freedom, pressing Aludra's other side as well.

"You'd be dead again," she said, "By the way. But I don't think the Negaverse ever considers that their targets might be ticklish."

It had never been covered in any of her training, anyway. The negaverse was too brutal to consider something so simple. "Up until that, you were doing really good," she added. "It was just - you let your guard down and I got you. You've gotta know your weak spots and protect them. Chest and... sides, I guess."

Teide got to her feet, brushed off her dress, and held a hand out to Aludra. She nodded vigorously as she helped the younger girl up. "Definitely," she assured her. "You're already really good on the basics, and I know you know how to use your magic."

There was just one lesson she'd skipped. Teide smiled. "There's one thing that everyone can do that's really, really good in a fight."

Poor, poor Quartz, she thought.

"If anyone ever gets you backed into a corner or you need to get away really fast," she said, "You kick them between the legs as hard as you can and then you run."

"Good," said Teide cheerfully, casting a glance towards the sky. It was getting a little bit late to be out as their powered selves - normal people would be waking up soon.

"Hey," she suggested. "Let's power down and go get breakfast."
