Jay's brows furrowed at the sight of the small usdia. "Come on, we must get out of this! There are none any further that can be helped!" She frowned upon saying these words. It seemed so heartless, but she'd be no more help dead. Quickly, she nosed at the usdia. "Come, now, we need to go! The smoke is too thick, we won't be able to breathe!" The unicorn was already heaving, coughing on the smoke and trying desperately to get fresh air. The only chance for either of them was to fall back and come back for any survivors. "You mustn't wait too much longer now!" She nudged the tiny creature more, trying to convince her of the utter urgency of the situation.

His eyes squinted as he grew closer to his home. There were so many close to the lake now that it seemed impossible to land safely. He made his way a little further to a clearing, deciding that it would be safer to double back. Upon landing, he saw many familiar faces, but none were of the family he was searching for. Quickly he made his way to Midori's teepee, hoping that they'd all fled, but he knew better. They'd be far too busy trying to help the others, and the winds would be high in the air trying to scope the area for any chance of escaping or any survivors. He sighed at the thought. His family was so giving, but he wished it didn't have to come at such a great risk to themselves.

The leopard colored stallion was grateful that the other two had slowed, but he ran with all his might. He new the fire wasn't likely to spring up and engulf them but in a time like this, who really wanted to dillydally. "Oh it's back there all right." He flicked his burnt tail and pushed through the burning sensation in his muscles.

He watched as the stallion grew impatient but still doubled back to gather is his friend. Yip, he was in good hooves if something happened. But they made it sound like the lake. Oh there was the lake. He huffed out heavy breaths as they drew closer and a pink mare with hair clips called out to him.

"Th-there's a fire..." he heaved gulping in breath as he slowed to a stop. "It's heading this way. We're taking refuge in the lake." His gasping finally started to slow back into normal breathing.

User ImageThe mare looked at the brown stallion in horror. Her eyes looked to the path they had just arrived on. Rotom was somewhere out there. The usually happy and bouncy mare felt her heart beating in her throat. Her children where out there... She started walking toward the path wanting to go in search of them but then a shadow fell over her. A wind horse was flying over there. Clearly looking for someone or something. If only she could get his attention he might be able to find her family for her. But it didn't long for her heart to slow as she saw her mate rushing to her from further down the path. He was breathing hard like the other stallion had been. But now her heart was longing for her foals. As she ran through where they were the only on that was in danger was Sapph.

User ImageThe stallion hurled himself forward and when Ali came into view his pace slowed into a trot. He walked right into her form and nuzzled her. "I'm so happy you're safe." But when he pulled back to look at her he could tell she was worried for their kids. Sapphireia was out in that direction. And he knew that Ali would never forgive him, let alone herself if something happened to one of their foals.

Rotom exhaled and touched his nose to her cheek gently before looking up at the large blue and purple stallion with the blond mane. He had a small companion with him and that other brown Usdia seemed to be hanging around. "Hey you." He called over to the stallion. "Make sure she stays safe!" He called before he rushed off along the river to try and locate their daughter.

Sapphireia felt her legs burning as she ran. She wasn't really the most athletic out there. But she did know survival skills. Staying close to the river was her best bet. If the fire was suddenly on her, she could use the water and even wade to the other side. That and it was the easiest route to the lake. It took the mare maybe 30 minutes rushing along to reach the lake. She never saw her father along the way. But she saw horses she didn't know near her mother. They all seemed a bit panicked and some where already in the water.

She blew out hot air as she made her way to her mother. She was standing and taking with a natural pelted Usdia that she had seem from time to time Hios name was Yasei she thought. But then she noticed that her mother was keeping close to a strange looking full sized horse. "Moma!" She called over through a dry throat. "I was worried! I ran as fast," She took a breath of air. "as I could. Where's Dad? And who are all these others horses?"

Neriah felt the nudges from the Uni and she couldn't help but look over her shoulder as she was scuttled along to make sure they weren't leaving anyone behind. "Easy there. I can move on my own." She shook her head as she took up her own pace. "Did you get a good look in the other direction? I was sent to grab anyone I could find." The purple mare was a Uni after all and based on what she had already said the full sized horse was there to help also.

The Lantern on her saddle flicked as the fire sucked away the air and caused it to flicker. But it was interpreted that she was gathering souls of those that have lost their life already. "I can't seek safety. I have a job to do. And your healing abilities would be very useful. We can skirt around the edges and help anyone we can find." But the question truly was, are you brave enough and selfless enough.

Nadya stopped with the small cheetah printed stallion, her brow furrowed as he spoke to the other usdia. She had never seen such small Soquili until now, but she didn't exactly have time to question it at the moment. The cerynei wished to urge them to keep moving, but when another stallion joined them she sighed. Surely this was an awful thing to do, but she had to take care of himself. "I'll see you at the lake, we haven't the time to stop right now!" Her long mane flew in the wind behind her once more as she took off, looking back occasionally in hopes that the smaller horses had followed. She would have never forgiven herself had they not made it, but she knew that there was nothing she could do for them. It was up to them to make it out on their own now.

The stallion nearly groaned at the request of the odd looking Usdia. How, he thought, was he supposed to take charge of another life? Wasn't it bad enough that he had himself to look after? Then, there was that little pest of a fawn that had grown so attached to him. Grumbling, he nosed the tiny mare along. "We're not quite there, keep going." His words were stern and his voice was hoarse from rasping through the thick smoke. He rolled his eyes at the stallion who'd left them, wondering what kind of individual would leave somebody to a complete stranger. He did not know if she was his mate or daughter, and had zero connection to either of them. Why would he care to keep her safe? He had no bonds here! Rolling his eyes, he fulfilled the stallion's wishes anyway, nudging the mare toward the lake in an urgent manner. What had he become? What a pity, he used to be so good at being selfish.

The small unicorn scowled at the sudden influx of creatures near her home. Dotty McFearsome so hated company, let alone uninvited strangers. She cared not that the lake was likely their best chance of survival, as it was her home and not theirs. Their intrusion was most unwelcome, and she snapped at many of the individuals, but it was to no avail. They seemed to ignore her, trudging into the water and causing a cloud of muck to form beneath the surface. "Hey," she yelled, "Some of us like to drink out of that, you filthy beasts!" Once again, her cries fell on deaf ears and she grumbled, sure to find a way to make them pay for their absolute rudeness. It didn't take her too long to find a familiar face, though, and she sneered at Adrastos' coming. "Hey! You!"

It appeared as if Kaska's idea had paid off. She grinned as she saw the unicorn mare trying to boss everyone around, acting as if she owned the place. This was likely her in. She slowly made her way up to the mare, not engaging her, but only listening to her demands. The hybrid knew that if she waited long enough, she would find the information she needed. Quietly, she stood among the crowd, overhearing conversations and concerns, but staying tuned in on Dotty. It didn't take long for Adrastos to grab her attention, too, as she listened to the two converse about his family. There were several names that piqued her interest quite considerably. She grinned, moving closer, folding her wings tight to her body and hiding her fangs from view.

Jayashri nodded. "I helped any living thing that I saw. When I first smelled the fire I rushed to it, hoping to be able to help any stragglers. I've been just in front of the fire for quite some time now, traveling with it to here. I've only found very few who've needed help so far, thank goodness. Time is against us in this situation." The ends of her hairs were singed, and she was covered in quite a bit of ash. Her lungs hurt and her body ached, and she wished she could do more.

Her brow stitched together at the small mare's suggestion. Jay was unsure that the Usdia's shorter legs would be able to keep up with her own, but perhaps a slower pace would be able to help her conserve energy and help more in need. She nodded decisively, still nudging at the mare. "Yes, that is a good idea, but we still must try to get at least a little fresh air before we pass out and can't even help ourselves!"

Adrastos rolled his eyes as almost immediately, he was called over by one of his least favorite of the herd members. Grunting, he made his way over to the unicorn mare. "Hey, Dot. Have you seen Midori? Or Niv or Phae? Anyone, really? Is everyone all right or are they out and about?" He knew better than to ask right off, because he was certain he was about to get his ear chewed about the massive horde of Soquili and the panic that was afoot, and he was sure she would call it 'just a little fire,' and say that they could 'find their own beach.' He sighed just at the thought, waiting impatiently for it to become a reality so he could dismiss her and ask his question again. Talking to Dotty was like talking to a rock sometimes.

User ImageYasei tilted his head as he watched the pink mare reunite with her mate. The larger mare with the light colored pelt was antsy and she continued on without them. The lake wasn't that much farther away and so the small stallions anxiety about the fire was started to fade. He still knew they needed to keep going. But before he could even say anything the pink mare's mate took off in search of their daughter. His golden eyes looked up to the large stallion with the blond mane as he was then out in charge of the pink mare. As the stallion pushed her toward the lake, Yasei moved next to her and chatted with her lightly he tried to keep pace with them. The stallion seemed to be a bit daunted by the idea of having to be responsible for the mare.

User ImageAli frowned when Rotom left and even more so when he asked this other larger stallion to care for her. She blinked a few times to get the shock out and then she huffed. She wasn't a helpless foal! She snorted as the stallion urged her forward and she grumbled under her breath. But she looked over her shoulder to see Rotom disappear as quickly as he arrived. "Please find out daughter safely..." She said softly.

But then she wiggled herself free from the pushy stallion. "That's quite enough sir. I can move on my own." She took up a trot and was joined by the other stallion. "Who are your companions?" She asked gently. "My name is Ali McIggins." It was easy for the larger stallion to outpace them and so she had to move into a gently gallop to trail behind him. He didn't seem as thrilled to be in charge of her as she was having him in charge of her.
