Ichil shook her head and pointed. "The standing one. It looks more powerful." She could just imagine it standing proud on some little girl's bureau or taking part in some epic imaginary battle versus other toys.
The craftsman suddenly spoke up. That one, he said, was worth a fair amount of coin.
The were art, after all. How many hours had he put into each one, Ichil wondered? She didn't want Kiyelt to have to go home empty-handed though just for the sake of his pocket change.
"I'd be willing to make up the difference, unless that might withdraw from some of the sentimentality of it."

"I will of course pay you back, I think as long as I put in over half of it then I will be able to pay it off in a timely manner, thank you so much for your generosity. It will mean so much to my little friend." He nodded to her as a sign of respect. It meant a lot to him that there were still people out there with some generosity. "I'm sure she will cherish this carving above all else. Especially since it came so far from home, it sometimes is nice to get some exotic item from somewhere far away." Worked with his familiars after all. Kiyelt inquired as to the price of the carving and dished out quite a bit of coin, making sure he held enough back for food and things necessary to survivial.

"No no, there's no need to pay me back. Consider it a gift of a gift." Ichil waited politely for Kiyelt to finish his dealings with the vendor before asking ow much of the total remained and fishing it from her coin purse. It was nothing in the grand scheme of things. She could probably buy everything in this shop with what she'd left at home. You could only carry so much around here without creating suspicion, though. The average person couldn't generally buy reams of silk and such.
"Home is Tivrod, isn't it? I have to say I've never been." She didn't dare mention where she was really from, and lying didn't seem the sort of thing she wanted to do to Kiyelt.

"Thank you so much Ichil, from the bottom of my heart, you've made her day and mine." He smiled, he could feel the shadow of tears in his eye..but blamed it on the wind there was no way he would let her know that he was overly soft on the inside, but it was a rare thing to be treated so. She had a generous heart. "Oh! You haven't? Its all hustle and bustle and cozy, you should come visit sometime! I mean I like it and I'm from a place covered in ice, its spectacular you can see the giant trees, hope you don't mind sawdust and my critter hoard is there too." The carving was packaged and handed over and kiyelt cradled it to his chest as if it was a real janarim pup..but he supposed a real one would wiggle a lot more.

Well, Kiyelt certainly seemed appreciative. Most had to work so hard for their money and many didn't have enough to make it through comfortably. It didn't seem fair, and s that was why Ichil often found herself offering coin to those who needed it, and sometimes those she just thought deserved it. Kiyelt and his little lady friend, they deserved it. Were those tears in his eyes? For a moment Ichil just smiled warmly up at him, feeling this odd sort of connection she found rarely from time to time, and then she nodded.
"You're welcome," she said finally, and then nodded. "Yes! I'd very much like to see Tivrod. When should I come, hm? When would be convenient for you? Of course I'd need a proper tour guide..."

"I would be delighted to show you around when you visit, I'll be heading back rather soon but I can stall a day or two if you have business to do before your trip." He didn't know what she did but she didn't seem to be someone who didn't have some kind of important stuff to be doing. He was already thinking about Tivrod itself and the attractions of the areas in its surroundings. He made a mental list of things she might like...he would have to clean up his crew before she arrived. It was somewhat difficult to wash so many creatures when they knew exactly what he was up to.

"Oh, is this an offer to act as escort?" Ichil asked, giving the man a coy glance. He would stay behind a few days just for the sake of her business? Was she really so alluring?
"I could likely meet you in the morning," she decided finally. She'd sneak out before anyone woke and leave a note so her understandably agitated father would at least know she hadn't been kidnapped. "But really I'm sure it would be easy to make my way to Tivrod if you wish to leave today. I've gone as far as Jauhar before and can pack a bag as well as any explorer."

"Well if your sure," he shrugged. "And it is an offer to escort you, I don't have a lot of friends in Oba and I feel that when I meet someone that I can have a good conversation with that I should try and keep them as a friend." He didn't have many people in Oba to rely on, basically his little friend and her family and himself. Not that he wasn't capable but one did miss companionship of an older sort once in a while. Longer talks that were more in depth and all that.

"My 'business' is boring and tired anyway. I'm sure my superiors would be delighted to have me out of commission for a while," Ichil said, her father notwithstanding. He'd be angry, like he always was, but the rest of nobility seemed to do better without her, when they could gossip without her presence and share their condolences with her family.
"So what will it be, Kiyelt?" she asked, rocking back on her heels. "Shall we meet tomorrow, or shall I see you in a few days?"

"Well since you seem so eager to get away lets go tomorrow, we will leave just after dawn so we can see where we are going but will hopefully avoid some of the heat, we might have to camp somewhere in the hottest part of the day if we get too hot. There is a nice oasis on the way there that has saved me more then once let me tell you." He grinned. "I guess I'll see you tommorow then?" He patted her shoulder gently. "And thank you again for your help." He was probably making a fool of himself being so grateful but he preferred that the point get across.

Ichil nodded. Yes, they would be just great. Her family would only just be rising while she was making her escape.
"Ah, the poor cold-blooded man. Then again, I'm sure the damp of Jauhar would have hit me harder were it not for the shade and the season. I don't mind some good dry heat." She smiled and caught Kiyelt's wrist before he retreated from her shoulder and gave his hand a little kiss and a coy look from beneath her full eyelashes.
"It was nothing. I'll see you tomorrow, Kiyelt. Don't leave me waiting." Her tone was melodic and teasing as they parted ways.

Kiyelt swallowed. Well that was interesting and it was now five times hotter then it had been before. Not helpful. He grinned after her, blushing purple. Nope he wouldn't be leaving that one waiting.
