Henry chuckled at the feeling of Kyou's shoulders popping beneath his hand, finally pulling away to lean back comfortably on the bench. His nurse mode hadn't quite turned off yet, but he was content for now that the doctor was resting properly.
The silvery Frei joined in on the laughter with a light one of her own, shaking her head. "I'm afraid I do not; this must be remedied, I would think," she said. "I do have lavender, however. It is quite a lovely scent, I would agree."
"What a great idea!" Henry chimed, sitting up straight from his seat. With a grin, he looked between Dr. Kyou and the two Raevans. "We'd love to have you over! Company is always welcome!"
"I would agree, it sounds quite nice." Ethiriel chuckled again, just as soft and dainty. "I am sure that Nedhudir would love to meet you, Lazarus."
Henry bounced up from his seat excitedly and said, "Sounds like a plan, then! After the roses, we head back to the Knight abode! I think my brother should be out for a while so we don't have to worry about bothering him!"
Bowing her head, Ethiriel hummed. "I do hope you like the sunroom; Henry has also put much effort into its maintenance."

The excitement was infectious. As Henry bolted off his seat, Kyou had a newfound energy to get up as well. Albeit at a slower pace as he retrieves his crutches and slips his arms in them. With a little help from Henry he was back on his feet again. Smiling all the way through now that as he has something to look forward to now.
"Let's go." He motions towards the direction of the rose garden as he began to move forwards. "Maybe they will have a small stall at the garden selling small rose bushes. Then maybe you'll have something to bring back to your sunroom." His golden eyes glimmered under the sun as he looked at Ethiriel with a pleasant smile.
Lazarus still with Ethiriel on his arm, is trying to follow Kyou's slow pace as best as he can. Being extra leisurely as he enjoys the sights and the lovely weather, as well as the lovely company. He was happy to see Ethiriel so happy, and so at peace. It was very different from the Ethiriel that he had met at the Lab, when they did the procedure to transfer guardianship. She was quiet, solemn, hurting. He suppose this must be all Henry's doing, to bring her back her lovely smile. She was a joy to watch.
"I'm glad you're happy with Henry." Lazarus whispered, just loud enough for Ethiriel to hear him as he squeezed her hand affectionately.

With Kyou back on his feet and ready to go, Henry remained by his side to make sure that he kept his balance or just in case he hadn't. He smiled his pleasant smile, giving an excited nod to Ethiriel at Kyou's idea. "Oh! We can only hope!" he cheered. The nurse let out a hum of appreciation at the sight of Ethiriel and Lazarus holding onto one another so comfortably -- he was always glad to see the Frei getting along with others, though she never showed any signs of the opposite. She was always pleasant.
"I would love that," the silvery Frei replied, her own gentle smile meeting her eyes.
At Lazarus' words, Ethiriel's brows rose in surprise. Her own hand squeezed his in automatic response, but once she had a moment to think about it -- yes, she was happy in Henry's care -- her smile returned and she gave a thoughtful hum. "He does take good care of me," she confirmed, idly turning her head toward Laz despite her inability to see him, and flashed him a toothy smile -- something he never would have seen prior. "I am glad to see Dr. Kyou up and about. It must ease so much worry that you had."

Lazarus couldn't help but responded with a broad grin as well, even if Ethiriel couldn't see it, he hoped that she would be able to 'feel' it. He had never seen the Frei smile like that before, and that was a perfect smile, it just lifts his heart and spirit. They are indeed in more peaceful times, as Lazarus think about the dark year that he had, struggling emotionally and to some extent physically about Kyou's condition then. He is so glad that he had stepped, literally as well, out of those days. And he is so glad to see that Ethiriel had too.
"Yes, things had improved a lot since he had woken up." Both their general well being for one. "There's still some worry about his recovery progress, his diet, he is generally a little bit more fragile now. But he is slowly improving everyday."
"I'm not fragile!" Having overheard their conversation, he chipped in playfully. "I may be in crutches, but at the same time I can hit you with it too." The man said with a hearty laugh as he lifted one crutch and waved it like an old man. Surprisingly managing to keep his balance as he did so.
The rose garden is within view now, as a huge archway loom not far from them, overgrown with pink and red roses. As they approach though, only did they realize that it's a rose tunnel. It was lovely, and the air smelled wonderful with the scent of roses.
"This is unexpected." Kyou paused before the entry as he admired the tunnel. He was really just expecting a small square with a few rose bushes, nothing like this definitely. Sure, it doesn't seem as well maintained with bare branches her and there, more branches poking in wild directions, as well as the withered leaves that littered the floor. But it was still an impressive sight when the flowers are blooming.

While she couldn't see his smile, Lazarus' met his voice and softened Ethiriel's expression further. She knew that the doctor's prolonged unconsciousness had caused great stress on the Valsaros and she was beyond glad to hear him in higher spirits, much like herself. Having been about to respond to her friend's words, the Frei's eyes widened as Kyou jumped into the conversation.
Henry let out a light laugh as he gently pressed his hand between Kyou's shoulder blades as the doctor displayed his feisty response -- he might not have lost balance, but better safe than sorry.
At Henry's laugh, Ethiriel let out one of her own, gently squeezing Laz's hand again.
"It's lovely!" Henry chimed as they began their walk through the rose tunnel, admiring each of the blooms in various stages of growth as they moved forward. Passing a glance to Ethiriel, the nurse watched with interest.
Ethiriel, in response to the overwhelmingly beautiful scent around them, had closed her eyes and lifted her chin, breathing in deeply with a content smile. If her sun room had more roses, perhaps this is what it would smell like -- she'd never been around so many of a single flower before and the difference in scent was interesting. All of her own meshed together into once scent, but this was all one scent already; it was like swimming in a sea of roses and she let out a gentle hum.
With a smile, Henry turned back to Kyou. "Maybe we should get Ethiriel some more roses for her sun room while we're here? If they're selling them, that is."
Chuckling, Ethiriel butted in, "They do better outside, Henry. Perhaps just a small bush?"
"If you want," the nurse chuckled.
Turning to Lazarus, giving him her full attention, Ethiriel continued, "I'm glad you are all well. Would you humor me for just a moment? I am actually getting my eyes "fixed" soon and would like to experience the world soon, myself. What is it that you see around us? Can you explain the beauty?"

Although he didn't outwardly show it, but the gentle hand on his back now and then was greatly appreciated. Slowly he hobbled through the rose tunnel, which is actually a gentle slope going downhill. But it wasn't too bad, he just had to watch his step as he admired the roses at the same time.
As Ethiriel took a deep breath, Kyou did the same as well. Shutting his eyes and inhaled deeply, letting the lovely smell of the roses lift his spirit. A broad smile graced his features as he opened his eyes again. The day is turning out to be lovelier than he expected.
"Unfortunately, I don't think they will be selling rose bushes here." Kyou said with a hint of disappointment in his voice. "The rose tunnel is lovely, but it looks a little bit under maintained." He motioned at some dried branches and leaves poking through in some areas. They looked like they had been there for a while. There are a lot of wilted flowers along the edges of the pathway as well. "Perhaps we will have better luck at a proper nursery."
Lazarus wasn't especially fond of the smell of roses, but the tunnel looked as lovely as it smells. Perhaps it was just the artificial smell that he dislike, the real thing definitely smells nicer.
"Hmm?" He too, turned his full attention to Ethiriel when she spoke to him, peeling his eyes away from the overhead roses. His eyes widen when Ethiriel mentioned getting her eyes 'fixed'. "You're getting surgery for your eyes? You will be able to see soon?" His voice got more and more excited as he spoke, his hands gripped Ethiriel's tightly. "That is great news!" He laughed a little as he looked at Henry. Was this his doing? His suggestion? The giddy grin turned into a grateful smile at the man before he turned his attention back to the Frei again.
"Oh uh... I'm not too good at words..." Lazarus laughed a little nervously. "But let me try..." Red eyes turned to observe their surroundings as he tries to find the words. "We're in a shaded area, as the roses grow overhead in this tunnel. But in between branches and leaves, sunlight manages to shine through. You could almost see sun rays in some places. It's like... light pillars. It's very beautiful." Looking around, he tried to find other things to describe. Gently he pulled Ethiriel with him to the tunnel's rose wall. Then taking her hand, he led her fingers to a clump of fully bloomed roses, about four of them. "The rose is pink colored, like a soft pastel pink. And they grow in luxurious clusters like these, if you touch it you could feel that it's not just one flower."
Slowly Kyou hobbled up close to Henry. "So when will she be having the surgery?" He asked tentatively, smiling softly at the nurse.

Deflating, Henry chuckled, "I figured as much, but it was worth a quick thought!" The nurse's hand remained planted softly against Kyou's back even though he seemed to be fine on his own. Again, better safe than sorry. "Maybe next time we're able to see you we can go to a nursery. How does that sound?" he asked, perking up with that bright smile of his.
"Yes, I will," Ethiriel said brightly, giving a solid nod at Laz's exclamation. It had actually been Zeke that had suggested the surgery several months prior, but Henry was just as excited about the idea when it was presented.
Smiling, her eyes still closed, Ethiriel listened carefully and took in the gentle, sweet scent of the roses as Lazarus attempted to explain. A lot of things he mentioned didn't click with her, such as color, type of color and pillars of light, but soon enough she would learn and be able to remember back to this day. Letting out a gentle hum, she said, "It sounds beautiful..." Once her hand was led to the roses, the Frei felt that familiar, silky texture between her fingers and her smile softened. "I must come back here after the procedure. It sounds like it is far more lovely that I can understand right now."
"Late October!" Henry exclaimed, though his voice was soft like you would speak indoors as to not interrupt others. "We're both very excited. She can't wait to be able to do all sorts of things."
At Henry's explanation, Ethiriel's expression softened as she turned back to Lazarus. "It is certainly something I look forward to. I cannot wait to see my friends for the first time, including you."

Lazarus knew his explanation would be somewhat futile, as concepts like color and light are probably unknown to someone that is blind. That was why he thought letting her feel the flowers would make a difference. Besides, he don't think roses would grow in large clumps like these if it's a small bush growing out of a pot.
"I cannot wait for that day as well." He smiled softly. "We should come back here again when that day comes. Or at least... until the flowers bloom again." The Valsaros chuckled softly. He overheard that the procedure will be done in October. By the time they remove the bandages from Ethiriel's eyes, which probably need some time to recover as well, it would be right smack in the winter and the rose garden would look barren. They would probably need to wait until spring for the flowers to bloom again.
"Perhaps the first thing you'll see will be snow." Lazarus said as he roughly calculated the time for recovery. "Which is very pretty in it's own right as well. Not as colorful, but just the white over a landscape, it's very pretty."
Henry's excitement was evident in his voice, Kyou couldn't help but feel excited as well. This is indeed, a very thrilling prospect. It would open a brand new world for Ethiriel, she will have so many new experiences. And she certainly deserves it. "What fun activities had you in mind already? When she gains her eyesight?" The man asked with interest.

"That sounds quite favorable," Ethiriel nodded, gently tugging at Lazarus' arm, much like a hug. The roses wouldn't last through winter and would probably start dying out in the fall, so most likely they wouldn't be around immediately after surgery without being in a greenhouse, but the idea of coming back again once everything was in bloom sounded magnificent.
As Laz began explaining the snow, the Frei gave a quiet hum of thought. Colors were lost, but the idea of seeing it was exciting in its own right. Ethiriel couldn't wait to experience all of the seasons once her eyes were "fixed."
"Perhaps we can meet again and enjoy the snow? I would like that very much." Turning to face the Valsaros, Ethiriel offered a wide smile, easily meeting her eyes as they closed. "I do not care much for the cold, but I would still love to experience the snow with you."
Something she didn't realize would happen sooner than later.
"Most of what we have planned are visits from her friends. I know she's also excited to see her sun room and finally get to see all of her flowers in bloom," said Henry as they walked forward. Rather than looking at the doctor, the nurse's gaze wandered over all of the beautiful roses, to the two Raevans and back, a warm smile plastered on his face. "I want her to rest up and get used to her sight before we do anything 'crazy.'"

"I'm not too fond of snow myself." Lazarus had to admit. Cold is always one of his biggest weaknesses, so he stay indoors as much as he can when it is snowing outside. Which thankfully Gambino Isle does not get a lot of. A month at most, unlike the other towns of Gaia. "But... I think they will be having some sort of Christmas party. Perhaps you could join then? I heard that they're going to have it somewhere with snow, instead of at the Lab."
Kyou nodded as Henry spoke, slowly walking forwards with the group as well. The things that the nurse spoke of sounded like some very good ideas. "That sounds good." He said as he smiled, wrinkles crinkling at the edge of his eyes. "Sounds like Ethiriel's life will be getting really exciting soon, and I'm so glad for that. She deserves that and more..."
Before they knew it, they had reached the end of the rose tunnel, and the rest of the park was back in view. Sure enough, there wasn't any booth or anyone nearby selling rose bushes. In fact, there doesn't seem to be an extension to the rose garden as well. Except for the few rose bushes of different color and breed right outside the rose tunnel, it seemed like the rose garden section of the park ended here.
Even if Ethiriel couldn't see it, but the sun had finally emerged behind the clouds and there wasn't any trees to shade them. Surely she would be able to feel the warmth on her skin. "That's it for the rose garden I think." Lazarus said as he turned back to look at their guardians. "Shall we head towards your house then?" Red eyes looking at Henry as he spoke.
"Just continue walking. I think this route loops back towards where we started." Kyou hobbled forwards a little bit as he motioned to the path that forked to the left. "It's a little bit longer than the way we came, if I remember correctly. But it's fine. I'll be fine." He smiled reassuringly to Lazarus and Henry, and to some extent, Ethiriel as well. Somehow, the idea of visiting the Frei's sun room rejuvenated his strength. Perhaps it was the excitement and adrenaline running through his body. Who knows? But he felt like he didn't need to rest on their way back. He will however, let Henry help and accompany him, if just to give the nurse some reassurance.
