"Oh, that's a low blow," Puck teased back. Despite his grin, he was beginning to regret this idea. Breakfast in bed? He could only imagine what other ideas she'd come up with if he lost. IF he lost. He allowed himself to be dragged out of the house and through the garden to the back gate where the alley waited. Glancing around to confirm what Eros was also checking for, he began to stretch too, more a show than anything since he was certainly no athlete. But he did have the advantage of experience at this whole senshi thing, of knowing how fast he could go and how hard he could push himself. He only hoped that would be enough against his friend, who was nothing if not quick and agile. "How about the length of the alley and back again?" He gestured down the alley, which extended between his house and the next for a length of three houses, since one had an extended backyard with an in-law house in it. "Just to the next street, then back again. That sound reasonable to you?" he asked as he walked to the start of the alley at the front of his house.

"If I'm trying to tag you, going down and back isn't going to be enough, because I can just wait here and tag you when you come back." Eros said as she surveyed the alley with a critical eye. "No... around the block. Start and end here, but we're not back tracking." She really probably shouldn't have said anything, because the other method would have given her an edge, but it didn't feel like a real wager the other way. There had to be some kind of token effort or it wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable to boss him around all day. The senshi grinned as she came to settle herself at the mouth of the alley, bright eyes on her friend as he got ready. She fully expected to win this bet... there was no way Puck was going to beat her out just because he had a couple inches on her. "No trying to trip me or throwing things at me to divert me, got it?" She said, bending her knees as she prepared herself. "Clean game."

"Around the block it is then," Puck agreed with a grin. Eros had a good point; it'd be too easy for someone to cheat, and by someone he meant her. "And clean game. I won't divert or distract in any way if you don't. Straight run around the block." He moved to stand next to her, setting his stance and bending his knee in preparation. "You realize you're not going to win," he teased. That should get her adrenaline going and at least make a contest out of it. He couldn't wait to hear what kind of song she wrote for him to uphold her end of the bet. "You ready? I'll even let you do the one-two-three go."

Eros waved a hand at her friend, brushing off the suggestion that she might cheat... So maybe she would, but only when it really counted. For something like this, where neither option was a real loss? She'd play it fair for him, since he seemed concerned. "Right, right. Clean, sure." She smirked as she shifted from foot to foot. "And I am SO going to win." Swinging her arms, she gave him a beat or two to settle and maybe let his guard down. Then, without warning, Eros burst into motion. "ONETWOTHREEGO!" She shrieked as she took off, laughing. She broke straight into a run, moving as fast as her short legs could take her in kitten heels. The speed, right off the bat, was startling. In moments she had covered twice to three times the distance she was sure she could cover normally. The surprise set her off her rhythm and she swirved, casting a look back for Puck before she picked up again, remembering this was supposed to be a race. But <********> man... this s**t was nuts!

Puck had no sooner settled into a starting position than Eros took off, shrieking the countdown and laughing. "You little- I thought we agreed to play clean!" he shouted after her, then he pelted off himself, his leather boots slapping the pavement as he ran. He was already used to the enhanced speed that came with being a senshi, so he could more easily focus on catching up to her. Which was easier said than done; Eros hadn't been kidding when she said she was little and quick. Still, his legs were longer (though not by much) and he'd been at this for awhile now, so he wasn't as thrown by the speed as she was. Briefly he thought about cheating and taking to the rooftops, since she had cheated a little bit on the start, but decided not to, even though he knew he would be faster than she was if he ran along the roofs. He wanted to win this race fair and square. As they rounded the first corner of the race around the block, it was becoming clear that Puck was catching up to Eros. He pushed harder, and was gratified to see the gap between them closing. "I'm coming for ya!" he called out with a grin.

Laughter gave way to quickened breathing as Eros heard the sound of heavy boots behind her, sending a jolt of adrenaline through her system. Her heart pounded as she put on speed, but the newness of it all and her lack of experience was telling... As they rounded the corner, the new senshi found herself unable to turn as quickly as she expected. Eros stumbled as she attempted to make the corner, her boots skidding on the concrete as inertia pulled at her. She barely managed to stay on her feet as her arms windmilled and it gave Puck the opportunity to slip past her. Falling behind so soon into their race was not a good way to start things out and the young senshi cursed as she pulled herself out of her slip and back into a flat out run in an attempt to close the gap. The next turn came almost before she expected it and she slowed to make the turn, losing more ground as she took care not to take a tumble. Frustration welled up in her chest and a grimace settled onto her face as she pushed for more speed, forgetting for the moment how strange and amazing it was that she could move so fast. Not even the best olympic runner could match the speeds they were reaching, but the focus of Eros's attention right now was the dreaded blonde that she was trying to catch, putting all of her new speed to use in catching up. The distance closed, but not quickly enough. Their starting point loomed and she let out a groan as she realized she would never catch up to him in time. With it came the will to keep going and her pace began to slow, bringing her to a panting halt as they passed their starting point. Throwing her hands up and behind her head, Eros worked to calm her breathing, though there honestly wasn't much to slow. Apparently with increased speed came endurance as well... she probably could have run a couple of times that distance before getting winded. A rather nice plus for someone who had never been terribly athletic. "UGH. Okay, you win." She groaned, fluffing up her hair with her hands.

Puck threw his arms up as he trotted across the imaginary finish line ahead of Eros. "Yes!" he shouted, doing a small victory dance. He waited for his friend to cross the line, arms crossed and a slight smirk on his face. "Told yer I'd win." Walking over to her, he patted her back. "I can't wait to hear what kind of song you come up with for me," he said with a wicked grin. "But that's something, innit? That speed and staying power. And that's only part of it. Watch this." The blond senshi took a few steps back, then made a running start before leaping easily to the top of the house. Landing on the dormer over the attic, he checked his balance, then turned to look back down at Eros. "This is fun too. Runnin' and jumpin' along the rooftops. It's a lot faster and safer than running along the streets at night. You get a better vantage too for hunting down Negaverse arseholes. And it's a pretty view from up here." He motioned for her to join him. "Come on up."

Eros slowed to a trot and finally stopped beside her friend, a scowl on her face and her hands on her hips as she worked to catch her breath. At least she hadn't bet anything major on this so she wasn't too upset about losing. It could have been worse. "Jokes on you." She said as she took a mock swing at him, putting mock petulance into her voice. "I'm just going to write a polka in a key where you have to sing in falsetto the whole time." Eros stepped back as Puck moved, watching with a squinting look as he took a wild leap to the top of the building. She smothered her impressed look and pulled on a smirk instead, her hands falling to her hips. "You are nutters, Puck. What on earth made you even think of trying to jump that high? What if you fall and break something? Do senshi powers come with immunity to broken bones?" She called up to him, eyeing the distance. She wasn't entirely sure she was comfortable attempting it... but her speed was in human and Puck had done it first... "If I fall, you had better catch me." She called as she pointed up at him, taking a few long strides backwards. Her teeth worried at her lip before Eros gathered herself and ran at the building. It was impossible to judge where to take off without having done it before, but she waited till she was within a few feet before she gathered herself and pushed off from the ground, putting all her new strength into her legs. The small senshi squealed as she passed the second floor and cleared the top of the roof, arching to come down past where Puck stood. She hit the surface hard and stumbled, her arms windmilling wildly before she tripped and hit her knees, forcing her to scramble back to her feet with wounded pride. "That... was ******** scary, ok?" She grumbled, brushing her thighs off.

From his rooftop perch, Puck egged his roommate on. "Come on, love, you can do it!" he called down. "It's easy!" He grinned proudly as Eros took a running leap and cleared the roof, squealing as she went. He even ignored her rough fall. "You done it!" He climbed the roof to the flat part between the two dormer windows where she had landed and stood next to her. "See, it was easy, wasn't it? Though it's probably not as easy in those heels. You'll get used to it, though, and after awhile you'll be doing it in your sleep." Reaching for her, he took her hand. "Like I said, it's great running along the rooftops. It's a lot easier to hunt Negas and youma from up here too. You can move a lot faster up here." With a grin he spread his arm, gesturing at the city skyline before them. "And the view's kind of nice, too." He looked at her, grin widening. "Wanna try a run along the rooftops then?"

Reaching out, Eros gave her room mate a punch in the side, though it lacked strength. "Not that easy." She argued, though there was a grudging smile on her lips. This senshi thing wasn't so bad, really. It had been confusing to start out, but the stuff that came with it was pretty cool. Maybe this whole thing wouldn't be so bad. When Puck reached for her, Eros let him take her hand and she wrapped her fingers around his in turn. It felt good, holding his hand. "I suppose the view isn't half bad." She admitted, bracing her free hand on her hip. "I guess I wouldn't mind take more of a look around." Stepping out, Eros gave Puck's hand a tug and took off for the next roof, keeping a firm grip on him as they went. The thought of the leap to the next building made her heart pound in her chest, but she trusted Puck. As long as she kept hold of him, she knew he wouldn't let her fall.
