What should of been a nice gesture (carving things) made Chel instead look like she smelled curdled milk. Mostly because she was remembering last Christmas, when Dawson had given her a pony and ...
Well, it didn't matter now, did it?
"Then go for it man. We ain't got lifespans for pussyin' out." Said the girl with the slowest boyfriend in the entire world that treated trepidation like breakfast cereal. "Then get a house right next t'mine." She thought about something. "Maybe a few houses down. Gets loud an' all." Not that anyone on either side of Chel's dorm had a choice.

Grinning, Gretchen took another drink of her hot chocolat before laying her head on Chels' shoulder. "How about across the street? Still neighbors, but not close enough for thin walls to be a problem." A house really did sound nice. If things didn't work with Isaac, the idea still appealed to her. She wanted a porch with a swing, and she wanted a garden where she could grow sunflowers and mums. The dorms on the second floor weren't bad, but she wanted room, and that was in short supply when they were all packed up close together. "So how's Jack?"

Chel let out a laugh of that. "That's why I keep you around, sunflower. You got bright ideas." Across the street- perfect!
She took a long sip of her hot cocoa before answering Gretchen's question. "He's ... okay. Had some stuff in Delta with Creation, but he's good. Busy. He's always busy though." He still came home and that was what mattered, she supposed.

"Did you go to Delta, too? I think I probably lucked out by not havin' to go." The missions Gretchen went on always seemed to end poorly. Not necessarily by any fault of her's, but...it was a hard coincidence. One the trainee would just as well avoid happening again if she could avoid it. Not that she thought she'd be able to avoid it for long. "He's a workaholic, that one."

"Yeah. Wasn't so bad though," Chel said truthfully. "Had some rough spots, been way worse." She was starting to sound like an old woman, jesus.
She poked Gretchen's side again, "Man you say that like I ain't workin' too." The thing was; Gretchen wasn't really wrong. Chel wasn't a workaholic unless she was interested, and she was very rarely interested.

She poked back, chuckling. "Compared to your boy, I don't work either." Jack put the rest of them to shame. Settling again, Gretch took another long drink from her cooling cocoa. "I'm glad things went relatively smoothly for ya'll."

"Yeah that's just 'cause we know what's up," she said, offering her fist for a fist bump. Blankets with girls on your lap and hot cocoa was the way to go, not stuffed away in a boring lab.

"Damn straight," she agreed, bringing up a hand to bump knuckles, grinning. "Hmm?" Gretchen paused with her lips against the edge of her mug, then looked up thoughtfully. "Anytime, I guess. I mean, s'not like I'm hidin' him." It was just a matter of finding a time that worked with everyone's schedules.
