Alphard bristled. It was a shift in expression and a more ridged posture, but it was easy enough to see that Teide had landed a strike on his nerves. "That doesn't mean you have to accept it." He hadn't yelled, but his tone was pointed. "I was told to protect people. If other people want to fight over stupid s**t, okay, that is their bag. But end of the night, I'm not going to just hide because
maybe something will happen.
Maybe a monster
might show up so I should just avoid people- the same ones I got told to protect?"
He was scowling and angry and this wasn't how things were supposed to go.
He'd just wanted things to be better.
"If you think I'm just ******** around and shouldn't be all-" He motioned to her uniform. "-Space magic then fine." He backed up giving her space. "Fine." There was a shimmer and like that, Alphard was gone, and a 18 year old in a patched up coat with an all too colorful scarf stood, looking a the knight with remorse. He was being mean, and angry with her for all the wrong reasons. She wasn't anyone but Teide. She wasn't his family, she wasn't a politician promises things that would never come. She as just.. herself.
"I like you Teide, but-sorry. Sorry I can't find a reason to fight aside from protecting the people I'm supposed to avoid." He sighed, turning and walking away. He wanted to be friends, so see her happy and smiling.
The world had enough sadness, he just wasn't one to admit them.
