"No worries there." Cordoba finally managed a thin, wary grin back, crossing her own arms as she listened thoughtfully, head tilting.

"So you're Earth-based? Odd. Though, admittedly, I haven't met or heard much of Senshi, truth be told. Mostly keep my nose clean."

And out of the firing line for the moment - being killed was not on her agenda, really. Not without enough information - something to fight for.

"So do you know why senshi showed up?" He seemed so concerned with invasion that she wondered what he was told, mind roaming to possibilities as she raised her brows.

"Best that I could ever figure out had something to do with a princess, but I'll admit that History was never my forte. Since then there's been a big battle or two... And then I couldn't tell you." He wasn't trying to be vague intentionally, he just had no idea what had been going on beyond whispers of things here and there, avoiding most of it as he had also been avoiding checking in with a superior officer.

"They showed up to find her, we showed up to fight them... And then things start to get blurry somewhere around the time we made allies with some of their enemies. Then Knights started showing up. It's like a great big party that a bunch of cosmic powers were invited to, only no one gets along and the food served is kind of terrible." He smirked, shaking his head.

"What about you? Did you really come here from Mercury?"

"Clearly this party needs a better DJ." Cordoba finally smiled. Ah, the pleasantries of knowing an analogy. She grinned, then tilted her head thoughtfully.

"Me? No. Pretty sure most knights are from here." Cordoba noted. "It's kind of weird is all.But apparently I have a place on Mercury I'm sworn to. But me? Earth is all natural. Besides, wouldn't the atmosphere be different?"

She chuckled. "I'd need a helmet!"

"Never know! Could be that space mumbo-jumbo does something weird to you and the magic makes you normal here on Earth." He flashed her a grin before tilting his head, looking intrigued by the information she was willing to share with him.

"Is that where you, knights, draw your powers from, then? A place on some other planet that you're sworn to? I mean, always figured it had to come from somewhere, but... Never really asked any of the knights I've crossed where." He'd have to make a mental note to try and get more information from Camelot if he ever ran into the elder man again.

Skye Starrfyre
Careful Richterite you might befriend an enemy, wooooooo.

Cordoba shrugged.

"That's how I understand it. I've never seen it though. As far as I figured, space was, well, not what this whole magic business is. What about you? Where do youall get power?"

The page hoped she wasn't being rude, instead, rather hoping she understood the conversation was drifting into neutral territory - neutral was good. She didn't know how fighting worked.

"Chaos." He answered her question plainly and honestly, although he was smirking slightly after a moment. "There might be more to it than that, mind you. And that answer is probably what you'll hear more from your side of the war than ours. Not that I'm setting the best example for our side right now."

He snorted softly at himself, shaking his head. "I still remember the first time I felt it like it was yesterday. When I was promoted it was just as bad, but at least I was expecting it. I guess that made it easier."

But he works in the Information Division! He's just doing his job. <- Keeps telling himself that -

If he ate spicy food I'd say coe to the light side order has spicy food but the only safe bet ever is cookies. -SNORT-

"Isn't chaos a primordial sort of soup in some legends?" Cordoba asked, and then shrugged.

"Well, lack of information or limiting information is how war works. Though if we played by the rules we'd be duking it out by now instead of chatting like the western front in 1914."

She chuckled awkwardly at her own history joke, and then nodded idly, almost contentedly. She much preferred talking, really. Words were her forte.
"To be fair though, so far this all sounds pretty bizarre and I fail to see why nobody is capable of attempting to initiate peace talks."
PostPosted: Thu Jan 14, 2016 5:12 pm

"Bad guys aren't supposed to play by the rules, right? Means mixing things up every now and then isn't so bad." It was his turn to shrug then, rocking slightly on his heels. "Peace talks would likely involve one faction demanding that the other leave Earth and never return. As most of us make claims to have been born there, the overall feelings about that get a little... Ugly to say the least."

There wasn't much about it that made sense from the point of anyone who had studied various wars and battles throughout history. He figured that it likely had something to do with Space (uppercase S and everything) and events of the past that they were not privy to beyond the bits and pieces that he had put together from things that he had personally experienced since his corruption. "Asking honestly, and hoping for an honest answer... Would you agree to peace talks with someone who had threatened to eliminate you and all of your kind? Or would you demand they surrender fully to whatever charges you might see fit to bring them up against?"

NovaCracker
Funny you should mention spicy food... The Captain who brought him to the Negaverse took him out for tacos to celebrate his corruption. >.>

PBBBBT. Cordoba lives for Ghost Peppers ironically.

"That depended on talks. Fighting hasn't gotten anyone anywhere." Cordoba shrugged, then tilted her head.

She had to think of her answer - knee jerk, she wanted to say 'hell no', but it was a topic she mentioned, and she thought before answering for a minute carefully.

"It depended on circumstances. Would there be negotiations, and could both sides maintain terms of the cease-fire? If everyone's claiming Earth, I don't think anyone should leave, but we shouldn't kill one another either. On your topic of history - why should we be fighting someone else's war? We should fight for our own reasons."

Especially since not everyone could help awakening. She added mentally, and sighed.

At one point in time Richterite might have had a passionate answer for her questions. As things stood he wasn't certain and that lack of faith disturbed him. Somewhere along the line he had lost sight of the reasons that had driven him. He had drifted away from the comradery that had sealed his acceptance of the Negaverse. How long had it been since he'd seen those that he had once been 'close' with? Scheelite, Painite, even the General King, Zinkenite.

"... What are your reasons for fighting, Cordoba?" He asked, finally, bringing everything back around.

Cordoba was quiet, thinking hard. Why was she fighting - or learning? The page had to think honestly, but one face, then two crept to mind. Three, four. Brother, cousin, Aunt, mother. Even the odd business man doting on both lovingly these days.

"My family." She finally said. "I don't want them hurt. Even if it's small and odd. I lost my father. My cousin was hurt, as with my aunt, by someone. I don't want them to hurt more."

"When I was first recruited the Negaverse was my family. My father didn't give a damn; he probably still doesn't, if we're being honest." He shook his head slowly before pausing to run his fingers back through his hair.

"A friend of mine, a crazy friend of mine caught me while I was walking alone. I didn't recognize him because of whatever magical nonsense keeps us from knowing one another while we're wearing a change of clothes," he gestured to his outfit, "but he knew who I was. He pitched me on the close knit and the team atmosphere and I wanted to be a part of something bigger. I wanted to be a part of something better." He laughed, although the sound was one he almost didn't recognize.

"It sounds like a bunch of idealistic bullshit when you look back at it a couple of years later. To wrap it up... Protecting the ones you love is a good reason to fight. Hold on to that. There are some bad guys on both sides of this board who will try to break you and make you think otherwise."

So... It wasn't quite what Richterite was promised, and Cordoba immediately decided that whomever lied to him needed a punch in the groin. Or a kick. She had hjigh heels, it worked.

At least he seemed friendly, and the page loosened her posture kust so. Just a bit more, and looked sympathetic.

"I'm sorry you didn't get what you were assured." And then - both sides? Ha ha ha ha. She chuckled, and grinned.

"Pity on those sort I'm as bull-headed as it comes when I make up my mind. My cousin and my aunt and mom and brother are everything I have to worry about. But my brother always looked out for me, so, if he got hurt? I wouldn't stop to exact revenge, I guess."

She then paused, offering a handshake.

"But. Hey. Maybe we can get along, sides or not, yeah? You seem - nice."

A good encounter for someone whom couldn't fight, anyhow.

"I wouldn't say that I didn't get what I was assured." He had, for a time. It just hadn't lasted and that was what made everything that once shined so brightly tarnish and fade.

He took Cordoba's hand, nonetheless, and gave it a firm shake. "Just remember what I said, Cordoba. Form your own ideas and hold on to them. If we meet again I hope it's not in battle."

"I will. And.. Eh, trust me. I don't want to fight you. You seem like a good person." The oage finally gave a wearm smile - she meant what she said and genuinely had no intention of fighting Richterite if she could help it.

She just wished he had someplace to feel welcomed again.
