Username: Sabin Duvert Title of piece: Tea Blossom Inspiration/Subject: Flower ( a blooming tea flower) + The lapsang pony hosts The Lapsang blossoms forth out of a blooming tea flower Entry: Additional Image links/thumbnails:Step 1: I sketched out the image design on a normal sheet of white computer paper. My Gaia name is on display here, on the drawing Step 2: I used a light box to transfer the image to a nice piece of watercolor bristol board and I drew it in a brown colored pencil. I don't draw directly on the paper to begin with so that I can get a nice clean lineart without all my sketchy lines. Step 3: I taped the lineart to a board with masking tape and did a background wash with English Breakfast Tea (in my favorite mug lol)) Step 4: I did three separate passes of coloring/shading of the figures with concentrated coffeee ((Starbucks Breakfast Blend - my fave coffee ^^)). I let it dry each time between coming back with it to build up darker and darker values. Then, I let it dry once more, blew off the coffee grounds, and untaped it from the board. How you used Tea/Coffee:I used English Breakfast tea to paint the background wash I actually painted the character in coffee (Starbucks Breakfast Blend) since it's a little darker than the tea ((But not as dark as I had hoped it would be, so I did three separate layers with it)). The artwork now smells delicious and makes me want to lick it. I am a coffee fiend. ((And since I may be out of town by the time this is judged, my preference order between the two is: Tea Paints & Inks Tea Stainings & Paintings HOWEVER, if there are other prizes such as semicustom lapsangs or new lapsangs I am definitely interested and would be fully on board with that for my freebie for the event smile ))

Username: Kamiki Title of piece: Macha-Lavender Bath Bomb Inspiration/Subject: Flowers / Green Tea Entry:
 Additional Image links/thumbnails:
The concept here is supposed to be "Cherry Blossoms in Snow" but... I'm not much of an artist. The "snow" is a dusting of corn starch, the branches are drawn in with coacoa powder, and the blossoms are little nonpareil's.
How you used Tea/Coffee:
The bath bomb itself is infused with green tea and macha powder. I wish you could smell this! There's some lavender essential oil and epsom salt in the bombs and it smells SO GOOOD AMG!!!
I can't wait to try these in the bath biggrin

London fog (vanilla and earl grey) shortbread and also matcha and white chocolate brownies. If you require to know the methods in greater detail please let me know. Please note, I didn't use the green tea and blueberry juice in anything, just what I was drinking as I was baking.

Username: AislingJuno Title of piece: The tea lotus flower vase Inspiration/Subject: the drawings on one of the prizes scroll Entry: I made a lotus flower vase holding tea lotus inside of the vessel. with tea on top -without tea on top Additional Image links/thumbnails: How you used Tea/Coffee:I used the bottom leg of a faded pair of PJ and hand sewed one of the sides(I drew blood it wasn't pretty- I almost never sew anything). I then used a mixture of mostly Assam tea and a pinch of coffee to dye the material and some french music sheets that i wasn't using anymore to make the paper flowers. I used the cloth to cover a vase for structure but besides the vase everything else I made(lpaper flowers, petals, tea bug) The petals on the outside of the vase are designs of a similar feeling the the ink painting on the the soq is holding. The project took me several days and many hours.

Username: Nyx Queen of Darkness Title of piece: Skeletal Tea Inspiration/Subject: I decide to crochet a teapot and top (I don't like the regular top, so I went with at "top hat") and then stained it with coffee to look skeleton like. The pattern that I used to make this teapot was made by me as I went along, I can write it out if needed. Entry: [URL=http://s580.photobucket.com/user/nyxqueenof

Username: ProphetOfProfit Title of piece: Tranquil Tea lotus Inspiration/Subject:I once saw a tea set that where the cps looked like lotus blooms and the plates looked like Lilly pads. Entry: Additional Image links/thumbnails:tea and coffee brewing for a painfully long time. http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt355/greyenigma1386/68a07b059f5b65c1a5aa543808182e70_zpsoyvtgfkj.jpgTea ready for painting . . .yes thats a makeup brush not an actual paint brush. all my actual paint brushes they um are much to expensive to use in tea. http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt355/greyenigma1386/8c583951c2f79b8a0bd8a0f7b81ee93b_zpsv5jd4bty.jpgHow you used Tea/Coffee: i used the tea and coffee to freehand paint a little picture of tea being poured into lotus blooms. the pink is a tea called "orchard" the light green is "sleepy time tea" the brown with grit in it in it is "espresso roast coffee" the other lighter brown is "black currant loose leaf tea from marketspice" the spattering is on purpose . . .i like it when they do it on ink paintings.

As the class winds down, the two stallions in charge of the lessons congratulating all those who were there for their creativity and skill with using tea as a medium of creation. However, they couldn't bring themselves to choose a 'winner' when asked. After all, they personally didn't see it as a contest. "Perhaps we can be of service?" Looking around, The scaleless stallions eyebrows furrowed slightly as he tried to figure out where the voice was coming from, "We?" "Over here" Inside a golden teacup from the cafe next door, a spicy sounding Lapsang with flutter wings smiled Sweetly, the cup set out in front of a hooded figure with smoke billowing from under the fabric around their body, their costume obscuring their features. The smaller flutter stood up with a stretch, stepping from the teacup "As I was saying, we've been watching you play, but haven't been involved. Perhaps my companion and I can help solve the issues of winners. She flit from piece to piece before finally gasping, landing in front of one of the paintings, "Oh! Oh! Agneza I believe I heard you say? This illustration is positively beautiful!" "I like the Journal that.." The hooded figure lowered their head to look at the name given with it, "L- LydaLynn? That LydaLynn made. Though I will admit it's an incredibly close call. There are a lot of creative entries." This contest has two new prizes on top of the seen stallions! A semi-custom Lapsang (in the gender of your choice) and a precolored mare inspired by Mayan Hot Chocolate. MarkingsThe Official winners are Agneza for Prettiest Execution, while LydaLynn Wins for Most creative! I will first roll who gets first pick out of these two, and then I will roll from the honorable mentions for the third choice. After that, final prize will be rolled for from all entrants for the third possible prize!
