Spinning around for another strike, Matilda nicked its right hand. She barely registered the companion wound on her own hand, too focused on blocking out the apparition's words.
Creeping behind the Shadow, Rinko attack again. With that one last attack, the Shadow dissolve, dropping 2 items onto the floor.

Stepping over the Shadow's remains, Rinko picked up one of the item, bringing it closer to the window to get a better look at it. A 5 Card. Aww~ Another one~ Why not something else~? Turning back to check on her companion, Rinko asked "Are you okay?" The other woman seems fine, though her damaged eyesight could have missed something. Worrywart

Picking up a bottle of water that had appeared, Matilda sank down to the floor to catch her breath.
"Yes... just worn out. Hopefully, that's the last of... whatever that thing was. I could do without another attacker for a bit."

"Well, whatever the Shadows are, do you feel better? Fighting them seems to help clear my mind from the Fog's influence" Rinko settles back to her previous spot close to the open window, where the moonlight shines though. Yes yes~ Everything is sooo much neater now~ Quiet. I think she can hear us.

Now that she thought about it, she did feel better. Her previous nausea and feverish complexion were gone as if they never existed. Did this have to do with the enemies they fought?
"I do, as a matter of fact... maybe this is something akin to 'fighting our demons'?," Matilda pondered from her spot on the floor, "If that's the case, then fighting more would allow us to gain clarity.... without the downside being the damage we end up doing to ourselves."
Speak the devil's name and she shall appear...
A figure with Matilda's countenance rose slowly from the moonlight on the floor. It brandished its knife playfully.
"Well, I suppose this is another opportunity," called the blonde as she readied her own weapon.

Stabbing once more, Matilda dodged around the enemy while it dodged in turn.
Hee, fighting their demons? She does have a point. "You make a really good point there~" Rinko gives the other woman a smile, shifting to fold her legs in front of her. "If you don't mind me asking, who are you?" She know the other is from the Uni faction, but can't for the life of her remember the other woman's name.

"Oh, I apologize. I never gave it," she replied, slashing the enemy once more, "My name is Matilda Baer."
She barely seemed to register the pain, even as she noted her body was beginning to slow.
Rinko winces, the last attack launch at the Shadow's ribs had gone wide, accidentally craving a deep cut over her shoulder. At least the Nightmare is dead. Or what count as dead for those beings. Be more careful! You're already pushing the body's limit!
