Cecil gave a soft sigh, pulling Hitsu back toward him so that he could wrap his arms around her shoulders. "No, he wouldn't. He would have saved you first and then me and everyone else before himself but you would have always been his priority above all else. He was selfless that way but as noble as that may be now is not the time to follow in his footsteps do you understand?"
He pulled her back again to look her in the eye. "Do you have enough to pay for yourself?"

As much as she wanted to argue, she knew he was right. She also knew that he probably would be that much more upset if she didn't listen and went off to pay for him regardless. She hugged him back, sighing in defeat.
Hesitantly, she nodded when he questioned her again. "I do."
Hitsu's brows drew down, and she spoke up again. Very firmly. "I want you to promise me that you will pay for yourself before anyone else."

"I will pay for myself. Don't you worry." He just didn't say when, he just hoped quickly agreeing would ease her mind.
"Now if you have enough go buy your freedom. It will at least give me enough peace of mind to not worry, okay? I need to go find Rook and make sure that Knucklehead has got his priorities straight." But what did that say of his own priorities.

But then she just changed her mind on the promises, herself. A little bit, anyway. If Cecil could be stubborn she could easily play that game.

Cecil frowned, his expression for once in his life stern. "I am not dodging. I told you I would pay for myself and I will." He took hold of her shoulders to turn her around and head her the direction she would need to go to turn in her coins and buy her freedom.
"Go pay for yourself or I won't be able to concentrate. And if you do anything other than that we are going to have problems you and I. Got it?"

Hitsu looked just as displeased about the whole thing as he did, practically glaring at him before he was maneuvering her much smaller frame and urging her away.
She wanted to threaten him, but instead she just huffed off to do as he'd told. Hitsu was bound and determined to find a way to get the funds for him to be freed; once she saved herself he wouldn't talk her out of it.

As he saw her off Cecil finally breathed a small sigh of relief. That was at least one thing off his mind. While Hitsu was here at least she was safe. As soon as he knew Rook and Charlie and a few others were in the clear he could focus on himself.
