"Christ, Professor, apparently you're good at cards." Austin shook his head, torn between disgust, annoyance, and being impressed. Almost absently, he leaned in so that Harvard could light his cig from the lit tip of Austin's own, eyes distantly scanning past him to a new table, then back to their dealer --

"This table's obviously rigged. Let's jump to a new one and see if we get better results."

"Mmm, thank you." He took a slow drag, obviously enjoying it. "It's doctor, though." Cigarettes had been scare in the 'outside' But upon coming here he'd two packs shoved at him - possibly to make him more complacent in everything. Or something. Harvard didn't particularly care; he got free cigarettes, And he wasn't feeling woozy, so apparently not laced with anything with had been a real worry.

He collected his coins in handfuls, dumping them into a pouch he had. "Did you expect me to lose? And what, exactly, do I get if I buy you?"Himself was first, of course. Perhaps. "We can move if you need to - but what if I win again?"

If they were going to keep playing--and it looked like they were, and he doubted Austin would let him leave at this point--he was going to need another drink. If for no other reason than to dull the sense of impending doom that had settled in the pit of his stomach.

Still grime-faced and pale, he caught the next available waiter as they passed, ordering a rum and coke before glancing Austin's way. "Are we moving?"
