Generally it wasn't something she talked much about when she wasn't having an episode, but she'd had more than a few drinks by now, so the fact that Corey caught her 'almost' before she released them didn't go ignored.
"Not the best story for high spirits." With an apologetic smile, she shrugged. "It was a long time ago. She'd be about your age. I'll tell the two of you about it at one of our wind-down nights when we get out of here."
Knowing the importance of bringing up the tempo in a situation like this, her attention focused on Charlie.
"Sorry, no," she cheerily declined Charlie's request, waiting for her hand to be dealt. "If I did that, you'd just run off first. Good thing we've always got this to catch you."
Leaning so far off of her seat that she nearly fell over, she reached to tug on the tail attached to his hoodie.

"Tell me that nickname isn't catching." He knew in fact it had though, Thanks Rook. As for the story, he had to admit he was curious to learn how you 'almost' have a baby. Does that mean she had a misscarriage? Caroline seemed awfully cheerful if that was the case...
"Not if i run faster than you." He mused, watching as she learned over. Taking the tip of his tail he 'swatted' at her arm with it. "Hey Don't fall over! We have a game to play..."
Speaking of, he tossed his card in and pulled another.

Corey was smart enough to see that this wasn't a very safe topic, even aside from the words suggesting otherwise. It was something in the way that Caroline smiled.
"Fair enough. But I still think you should focus more of you maternal instincts on pony boy here." Whom she kicked under the table, while grinning wickedly. "And yes, it is catching. I'm very pleased about that."

After a moment's consideration, she put a hand over her heart and nodded at Charlie.
"Yes, yes. I think you're right. Corey is much farther along with these things--and you've got to hurry up with it, before I lose my chances of grandbabies."
She 'discarded' a nine of hearts by pretending to put it on the discard pile, and slipped it into her pocket among the other stolen heart-suited nines instead.

"Wow sis, not only do you sick mom on me you are so abusive." If they wanted to stalk calling each other family names, he was honestly ok with that. He saw the pair of them as family as it was, being stuck together for so long. Might as well.
"I am doing fine in this department, ok." The words were muttered under his breath, fidgeting and once again hiding behind his cards once he switched one out. "No need to focus..." yes he was running.

"As the only man present it was sort of my duty to say it." He couldn't stop the small smile he gave Caroline, but it was gone a second later.
"You know those will kill you, right?" Forever a doctor at heart, he was vehemently against any sort of smoking. Drinking was ok i moderation, smoking turned your lungs slowly into charcoal. Yes they were in a Undying Apocalypse, but why kill yourself slowly with them?
