Fifteen was even worse than the others. "I'll fold," she said to the dealer. She wasn't gonna risk it.

"There's no need to apologize for it or anything. I probably sound crazy saying this is a second chance for me, huh? I guess it's really just because I'm actually needed to help survive now," she chuckled, motioning to the dealer once more. If she could keep doing this then she'd be able to get the coins she needed in no time. She just really wanted to get out of here alive. She had hit thirteen....well maybe she could chance it again. At least she hoped she could.

Sweet as it was to hear that particular sentiment from someone whose company Monica was growing to enjoy, she shook her head. "I think..." she began, then paused.
It was a while before she spoke again. "I think it's like an airplane. You have to look after yourself first, Diana - w-we're all here trying, after all. And we can't...pool our resources, so we have to each make sure we have as many coins as we can get." She tilted her head, rubbing her neck unconsciously. "Um. I'll go again."
Don't bust, she thought. Don't bust.
Well, Monica thought, looking down at her cards practically. This...she could at least work with this.

She couldn't bear to watch the dealer. Could she succeed? Win at least some of her coins back? Oh God. A nine. What was that? Miserably Monica counted in her head. Twelve, thirteen, fourteen...
Twenty. "I won!" she said excitedly. This was frightening.
