"If there's a secret to surviving, I hope someone shares it with me. We've mostly been working as a team, which was pretty much already drilled into us from the start. Y'know, sports n' all. Our 'leaders' have some good heads on their shoulder too, which I guess helps. They're good at keeping us all in line and have even set up some strict rules that have probably saved our tails more than once." In fact, if it wasn't for his 'team' Rook would probably be worse off than he was now. "As for what I think caused it? I'm with... Adelaide was it? I think someone is behind it. Nothing gets that ******** up without a little help."
Brie's answer to his question, was met with an amused look. But seeing as the undead were an actual problem to their survival, he couldn't really call her on sarcasm. "Touche."
The other questions and answers were kind of difficult to digest. True, the outlook on their situation looked grim and he himself had doubted they'd all get out of this alive. But it was hard to actually hear it from other people. "Yeah, I'll admit, we're pretty ********. But I'll say this, if we did somehow get out of here, I would sleep for a week." And that was the truth.
He almost regretted asking the doctor the question he had. But he'll admit, curiosity got the better of him and man really did give off that bad kind of vibe. His opinion didn't improve much when he advanced, making his body bristle at the doctor's approach. He hadn't expected him to actually get that close and might have even felt a shiver run up his spine as Sho whispered into his ear.
"If you mean I am more creeped out by you than I was with mere instinct alone, then yes." For a moment he wondered if he should warn the girl--Brie, of that nasty personality of his, but thought better on it. For all he knew, she was aware and was into that kind of thing.

Drew regarded all the answers with a nod or a tilt of his head, either out of agreement or curiosity or confusion. When it finally came to his turn he looked toward the older woman first...Adelaide, was it? She'd asked the first question, after all. "Far as surviving, you guys basically said it. Teamwork's probably the best approach. The idiot that wanders off on their own in all those kinds of movies always ends up dying within the first half hour or so, right?" He could think of only one exception...but that was a pretty shitty movie so he didn't bother to mention it.
Next up he looked toward Sho. "I've got no problems saying I have no idea what caused it. Frankly, I don't give a s**t. I just want someone to cure it or tell us that we're all ******** so we can just get on with whatever we've got left of our lives." He sort of segued nicely to Brie's question, so he just continued on that train of thought. "I personally like to think we've got a chance, but honestly? I don't think so, no."
Rook's questions didn't require all that much thought either, so after a quick pause he jumped right into the first two. The very last question seemed directed right at Sho, though, so he opted out of that one. "Hell no. Wanting this for anyone, or being selfish enough to escape knowing you're gonna spread it if you leave, is just...messed up." And the very last question he would answer he actually sort of smirked. "I think we're doin' alright, but I will say this. Surviving's pretty tough without showers, I think. Fair warning, if you can smell someone coming, there's only two options: you've either got an undying on your a**, or one of us Mall Rats are coming."
And, just for kicks, he decided to answer his own question, too. "If we do get out of here even semi-alive, first thing I'd probably do is shower. I'd even be happy with a cold one, long as I had soap and shampoo to go with it."

Alright, so in total: one crazy body slicer, one real quiet girl (shy? deaf? hard to tell, but Sho was aiding her), and three probably decent guys, if with some sass on two of them. At least the bunch knew basic apocalypse 101: don't split the party. That was the part that really mattered in the end, whatever one's proclivities.
"Shower and some wine," Adelaide agreed with a little smirk. "And the ability to pick up some goddamn soap without it turning into a bad prison joke.
"Anyway! I think that about does it for me." Prison had a curfew she had to abide by, and her shoulder was beginning to throb. "Keep a cool head out there, kids. A lot can happen in seven days." And with that, she began to make her exit.

Shouichi made a "Whoopsies~" face like the fact Rook actually found out his true nature, not perturbed by his conclusion in the least. Not that he really tried to hide it from Rook..... Besides, "It's good that you don't approach people too carelessly." He did like Rook.. vaguely for all that it was worth.
Drew was fine too. The elderly lady had some weird ideas there, and acrid in her remarks. But they were unlikely to meet each other all again, so Sho wasn't very concerned.
"Anyways, we have a curfew as well. Though October probably wouldn't notice since he's already asleep but I would hate to be caught by our other resident in charge." Lifting himself up carefully without jarring his other arm too much, he motioned for Brie to follow. With a point of his thumb back in the direction of the base, Brie didn't need a written explanation.

With Adelaide gone, Brie stood to her feet when the doctor motioned for her to follow. It was getting late after all, and Alex was probably up and about by now. It was probably a good time to regroup and head home for the night.
Running over to join Sho as they headed back, both Rook and Drew received a quick wave goodbye, followed by another suspicious glance directed at Rook. Drew seemed alright, but there was just something that irritated her about Rook. In any case, its not like they'd probably meet again.

A subtle look passed over his expression, but he didn't say anything and any further thoughts concerning the doctor's creepy personality was cut short when the elder woman, Adelaide, announced her departure, due to curfew.
"Ah shi--yeah. Same here. I'm going to need to go otherwise they might just lock me out." And he wasn't keen on spending the night out alone. He had been warned multiple times not to miss roll call. "Take care not to get et then?" And with that he took off, heading back in the direction he was originally heading before their little encounter.
EXIT!

"Later, all," he said as Adelaide started the goodbyes.
He was the last one to kind of just sit around in that little huddle, sitting on the shared thoughts on certain aspects of this apocalypse. He'd waved a lazy, polite goodbye to Adelaide first, then Sho and Brie, and finally to Rook before he eventually got up and started heading back toward the Mall. He wasn't entirely if they had a curfew as well, but he didn't want to push his luck. His arm was screwed up and he couldn't risk being out here on his own, either.
