Zelda nodded. Many of the younger people had banded together in the weeks since the outbreak. She was sure the girl was as fine as she could be. "Thank you for that. Me and the kid try. And yeah, it is nice." All in all, she thought they were doing very well for themselves.
Perhaps that was why there were so many outsiders who wanted to join them. Zelda couldn't believe they had all stolen their keycards. For the first time she wondered if someone out there had figured out a way to make duplicates. She slowly rose to her feet, hefting her umbrella over her shoulder. "They usually manage to," she confirmed. "Get them back, I mean." But maybe that didn't matter. She had a sudden desire to arrange a little meeting with October. "Will you excuse me, hon? Mr. Pickle Wickles and I have to have a chat. You'll be all right here?"

"I think I can manage," Juliette nodded, "I do have some very nice guards to help me during the rest of my shift, after all." The retreating woman gained herself a little wave in goodbye before the elder returned to her little arts and crafts project.
Ever so often her gaze would go upon the door to watch for more returns into the compound. It got a little quieter after Zelda left, which was both welcoming yet made the time go a little slower and more lonesome. If only she could get the guards to talk!
