Kyleigh tried hard for this assignment, but she just couldn't get the color she wanted. She had wanted to go for a deep green that reminded her of nature, but the best she could manage was a darker blue than her natural color. Which she supposed completed the assignment even if it hadn't been her plan.

Conan had been told it was sort of difficult for Grimm to control magic, but he'd been willing to give it a try at least. Besides, Illusions would be really cool to pull off on stage. At least they were starting out pretty small. Or so Conan thought. It was really actually sort of difficult to think about changing his eyes colors. He stared into the little mirror on his desk all day without making anything happen. Well, he had a whole week to figure it out. Maybe he could get some tips from one of his fellow students. he left class that day with a minor headache for all of his effort.

Day two and Conan came into class as confidently as he could manage. He had told himself that practicing outside of the classroom would be pointless and so he was quite ready to get to work on he arrived. It took a lot of effort but eventually he could see the illusion in the mirror. He had changed them to a pale blue, it wasn't anything spectacular, but it was a start! And he had the rest of the week to get even better at it as well. He'd earned himself a passing grade on day two! Hurrah!

Username: Nasaiki Student Name: Vanna response: “Illusions are extremely versatile; if you have the magic for it you can use it for a variety of different things. You can use illusions for entertainment value. Such would be in storytelling. If you studied enough it would be quite easy to combine it with your racial magic, such as I’m a Chimera so I could combine fire magic with Illusion magic. I could influence the fire to take the shape of the characters bringing more excitement to the story. You could also use illusions for more practical uses to show customers what exactly you are envisioning this would be usual for design and architecture.” Vanna added. It was funny while he had first started learning illusion magic because it interested him; Eilwen helped him see just exactly what things he could use it for. He would have to thank her the next time they met up.

T'kani scribbled down some notes while the rest of the class did the same and were called on to give their answers, tapping the pencil on her chin as she tried to lay out her response. She put her pencil down once the nightmare in front of her was called, letting out a silent breath and preparing everything in her head.
When it was finally her turn, she smiled at the teacher and started signing to him, slipping into a pace that he was able to keep up with the interpretations for her.
"Illusion can be used as an aid for safety, projecting signs and barricades in places where it would not be easy to place them, or are needed only temporarily. These illusions are best used in places where there is no danger being covered up, as the illusion has no substance and would not prevent a nightmare from passing through them either intentionally or by accident.
Depending on the nature of the spell, it may be a complex or simple task if the illusion must be altered after it is placed. For instance, an enchantment which displays a warning would need to be scrubbed and then re-enchanted, whereas a spell can be used to modify or re-cast the enchantment."
T'kani signed a 'thank you' to the teacher once she was done, then leaned back in her chair, flexing her fingers after their exercise

Brynn had taken this class so she could think about how to use illusion in her career path of fashion design, and she was excited to be able to speak up about how she thought of the skill in the modern world. She watched as other students were called on, until it came to her. "Illusions can be used in fashion," she began. "Particularly in making grandiose entrances or displays on runways, or even in concept work. For example, if someone saw a dress you made and thought it might look better as a different color, you could use an illusion spell to make it appear that way right then and there! It wouldn't be lasting, of course, but it would be a great way to decide that it's what you wanted." She felt satisfied with her answer, and smirked a bit as she leaned back in her seat.

Litla squirmed in her chair, chest fluttering ever so slightly. Her claws tapped against the desk as she waited for her turn, mentally wincing when, finally, eyes were on her. Okay, right. She had an answer. She could do this. She didn't need to panic.
"Haunted..... houses?" She whispered, almost inaudible. Ah! She needed to stand up! Scrambling to stand, she knocked her chair over in the process, flushing as she plucked it back up before standing to face the rest of the class.
"I mean as in the tourist kind. The houses that are open for tours and said to be haunted. Not that I think they'd lie like that.... but, if the house was meant more like a fun attraction then maybe you could use illusions to make ghosts and monsters appear? I heard once we even had a haunted house for a festival and someone used illusions on two kids." With that, the little Imp settled back in her seat, looking firmly at her desk.

Cherubi lit up the second it was her turn. Oh! She had the perfect answer! Standing up, the Chimera wagged her tail behind her, eagerly placing her hands on her desk for support.
"Fashion! Okay, so, imagine this; you're walking down a cat walk in a pure black dress. The audience is confused. Where is the bling? Suddenly, with a sweep of magic, it turns into a shimmering night sky, sparkling its way down the walk! Oh, oh, I should try that sometime on my own work....."
Wait! No! She had an even better idea! "Wait! Wait! You know how it's super hard to describe a memory just right? Like, you don't have the words to describe that super awesome or super awful thing? Well, magic could be used to convey memories. It might even be cool for plays! In actual flashback! I suppose you could use illusion magic for other effects in plays.... too.... like smoke, or changing the atmosphere to reflect time of day.... yadda yadda, but lets get back to the memory thing. Wouldn't it be so cool to actually see how someone experienced something? OH, what about clothing that showed scenes of your mem- whoop, I'm sorry! I'm rambling!"
Oh shoot, she needed to let others have their turn, too. Her hands had swept into the air, quickly setting them back down as she wiggled back into her seat, buzzing with ideas. Maybe the next line of clothes she made she could experiment! Hmmm....

He had promised Oz that he would come back to class, and although Greer wasn't necessarily an imp of his word, this was a matter of pride. Of course he had no idea whether or not the baphomet was even interested in attending Illusion, but he supposed he would be there anyway, even if they older Nightmare didn't show up.
Greer took a seat and tried to pay attention, brightening when Oz did in fact show his face. Now all he had to do was be smarter than his rival... frenemy... whatever. He wanted to be the first to answer, but he was still thinking by the time his classmates started to respond. He planned on majoring in anthropology and creative writing, but he wasn't quite sure he could come up with a way that either topic could be combined with illusion work. Finally he decided on something, sitting tall and raising his hand before speaking.
"I think that instead of having different covers printed for different editions of the same books, we could have illusion covers. That way, Nightmares and Daydreams would get the most recent cover and maybe even with a little extra work, it could change to older ones if they liked those better! They could have parts that look three dimensional and everything, while still fitting on a shelf!"
Pleased with his answer, Greer sat back in his seat and folded his claws. At the very least, he'd responded before Oz did.

Oz had to admit that Greer's answer was more than he expected from the kid. He also was at a loss as to how he might top it. Fanciful book covers were pretty cool, but what about...
carriages food jewelry Jewelry! That was it!
"I think that illusions could be used in the jewelry industry. Rings could flash Happy Birthday or display flowers and confetti for anniversaries. Stuff like that."
But... wait. Could illusion work even accomplish all that? Could magic be set up to show itself at specific times? Oz honestly wasn't sure.
"I mean, if it works like that. Special event jewelry would be cool."
There. It was better to be unsure and acknowledge it than to be wrong and pretend he was right.

User name: Nasaiki Nightmare: Samhain
response: He had always been interested in magic, especially illusion. He had watched some of the bar patrons use different illusion magic, to mostly cheat but the whole process intrigued him from even a small age. However Samhain knew that it would be trouble working with types of magic, he was a hybrid after all and one of his parents had been a grimm which meant that magic didn’t come easy to him. However nothing worthwhile was ever easily obtained. So when he encountered his first disaster he wasn’t too put out. He would just try harder until he got it. "well I cant say that I got the box, but I'm still working on it. I hope that eventually with enough practice. I'll be able to come up here again and say that I succeeded"
