Turn 5
Talitha's Attacks (x4): 21 - 7 = 14 (100 - 14 = 86% Defence Chance) (-15% From Stamina = 71% Defence Chance)
Failed! (105 - 21 = 84 Damage)

The Mercury Soldier watched as the woman lurched forward, rolling out of the way just in time to avoid the attack from above. Damnit! It mentally cursed as the woman set her back against a cabinet and looked up at her with the same sort of repugnance that she had had on her face the entire fight. Well, the Mercury Soldier would end this girls resistance. It would end her completely and totally. When it got its damn hands on her, that was. But the woman wasted no time in launching herself into another set of attacks--however, this time she felt...different. As if she were adapting to her surroundings and adapting to the way that the Mercury Soldier fought. When she called herself strategic, the Mercury Soldier snorted audibly, not bothering to really respond to the comment. But then, the woman was leaping onto the island and swung her knife quickly toward the Soldier's neck, but the Mercury Soldier immediately hopped backwards from the attack, making sure not to lose its balance on the island as it did. Where was this speed coming from!? Where did this girl just go? Had the imprisonment that the Soldier had faced truly taken this much out of it? It was getting tired...it could feel it running through its body. And then suddenly, as it was looking for where the woman had gotten off to, it felt her hands around its feet and it had no time to think as its world was turned upside down. It smashed its face off of the island and it completely dazed it for a moment, having not had enough time to alter its shape to cushion the blow.

As its head swam, it tried to regain its footing as it looked at the ebony skinned woman. Damn her. Damn her to hell. Suddenly, she was picking up some piece of furniture and hurling it at the Mercury Soldier. Did she really think that kind of tactic would work!? The Mercury Soldier's arm turned into a long blade and she immediately swung it down, cleaving the chair in two, and then the woman was off again, darting around the kitchen. The Mercury Soldier tried to follow her, but it couldn't. Then, as she was turning around she heard the woman's feet as they hit the floor, running into a jump. And the Soldier turned around in a flash as the woman tried to drop kick her and it merely jumped off of the island, allowing Talitha to soar through the air right past it and crash into the cabinets on the other side of the island. 'That's the problem with you humans. You used to have a strong sense of honor. The one who fights and lives with honor is the one who is a true warrior. Anyone can 'survive', girl. Any coward or lucky fool can survive...but to live with honor--to kill and not be killed while maintaining that...that is the essence of a real warrior.' The Mercury Soldier stated. The woman had potential. That was to be sure. She was good, even. The Soldier was pleasantly surprised by this. But it would not give in. This woman would have to defeat it fair and square, while it was giving everything it had. And it did. It launched forward in a flash, its hands glowing as its arms both turned into swords, the edges of the blades glowing red. The Mercury Soldier whirled around, spinning like a top in the confined area to minimize the area that Talitha had to dodge, hoping to hit the woman with the spinning attack.

Talitha let out a loud grunt when she connected with the cabinets after her attack missed. She had no clue if she’d wake up with bruises after this- was her body on the outside feeling the pain she was dealt on the inside? She’d never actually know until she beat this thing and woke up. She didn’t feel the need to answer what the AI Core was saying; she wasn’t going to let such words bring her down, she knew the ways of battle, say things that would cause anger in your opponent, make them second guess themselves. She wasn’t going to fall for it. Talitha didn’t enjoy anger- it caused people to make irrational decisions. She never really cared much for getting angry anyways, she liked to stay calm and controlled. It did her well in most situations, much like this one where she could tell the AI core was getting thoroughly annoyed with her words. Of course she knew what a true warrior was- she only had a knife to battle against this thing who had more than one dangerous part of its body that could potentially bring her to an instant end if her attacks hit. When the AI Core started to spin, Talitha ducked just before one of the blades could reach her neck, she could feel the heat coming off them. She let out a soft sigh, “That was close…” She muttered softly before rolling out of reach of the deadly blades.

Talitha started to laugh as she ran her fingers through her now down curly black hair. It had fallen out of the ponytail only moments ago. She was a little worried that her hair would get in the way of her fighting abilities, but pushed her worries aside to move around the island, away from the dangers of the spinning arms of the AI core. She wanted nothing more for this fight to be over and to wake up. She pursed her lips together and then saw her opening- she could attack when it changed its arms back to normal, perhaps actually damage it? She would have to carefully place her attacks now. She just now had to figure out a way to execute her plan without being found out right away. She glanced around the room and then moved towards the table, using all her strength to pick the small wooden table up. (it’s probably like 15 pounds) and she launched it at the AI Core, and ran quickly as she saw her opening, her knife now in her hand like normal, she attacked the midsection of the AI core in attempt to stab it three times, not before waiting a couple seconds for its form to start changing and then she attacked once more, stabbing the AI core directly in the same spot before doing a roll backwards and to her feet, her eyes going over the AI core to see if she did any kind of damage.

Attacks: 21 / 2.5 = 8.4 (8 Attacks)
OOC: I'm trying to change my formulas to fit my stats, if you see anything wrong lemme know. neutral I left my attacks the same because I'm pretty sure I'm calculating someetthing wrong... Could you help?
EDIT: I'll make sure to post 8 next turn. Holy crap, that's going to be challenging. <_<

Bruce couldn't help but smile at the lady. She was acting so nervous like a new recruit, it was hard to not think she was cute. His husband would have been hugging her quicker than she could blink. Though he couldn't see her face, her tone and body language said a lot. He nodded when she confirmed that this was indeed her first mission, patting her shoulder. “Well congrats on your first mission. The first one is always the hardest.” He smiled at her. It was true, a lot didn't go through their first mission easily. He raised his eyebrow when Slypner began to introduce herself. He couldn't help it, the laugh just came right out of his mouth. “Oh Dear, you're really strung up.” He said, taking a few minutes to try and calm down. “Listen, you don't need to be so formal, we're all pretty relaxed around here. Unless having a bad day.” He shook his head. “No nothing much else to know. Just head over to last chance, take one of the buggies so you can get there quickly over the sand.” He said, pointing toward a large garage that was connected to the main facility. “Go luck hun, just be nice and the few locals will talk to you.” He said with a wave as he walked away. She would be fine, just needed some social interaction to calm her down. That would only happen if she had someone actually join her on her missions, but that will come in time.

Turn 6
Talitha's Attacks (x4): 21 - 7 = 14 (100 - 14 = 86% Defence Chance) (-15% From Stamina = 71% Defence Chance)
Failed! (105 - 21 = 84 Damage)

After the Mercury Soldier had spoken to the woman about what a real warrior was, Talitha didn't say much in response, other than what she showed in her face. The woman seemed preoccupied at first, when she heard the Soldier's preaching, and the A.I. knew that the woman had contemplated her thoughts at the very least. She wasn't stupid, that was for sure, and she wasn't an arrogant fool either. She knew what it meant to be a warrior as well, beyond a doubt. And, as the woman seemed to improve over the course of their battle, the A.I. found itself growing fond of her. She was a strong woman in a torn apart world, and she was someone that the Mercury Soldier felt that she could relate to if they were able to meet each other halfway. The Mercury Soldier was dead if it won this battle--though it was still not going to be controlled by a human who was unworthy of it--so why not join forces with the woman? If she would keep her alive, then it made sense. And if she did not keep her alive, then the Mercury Soldier would be able to die--end its centuries of life. As the woman ducked down, avoiding the spinning attack that the Mercury Soldier had attempted to hit her with, the A.I. grumbled slightly, annoyed that she had been unable to hit the woman yet, however, the core didn't have enough time to think about it as the woman hurled a small table at it.

The Mercury Soldier saw the table coming, and it swung its bladed arm down to cleave the thing in half, but as it finished the stroke, cutting the table in two, it fell to either side, revealing Talitha, directly behind it, coming for the Soldier. It didn't even have enough time to think after it saw the woman's face--the visage of death. The small blade she wielded was shot forward and plunged into the top of the Mercury Soldier's head in an instant, and the blade seemed to light up with blue energy as it called out the code of the Mercury Soldier. Numbers, symbols of ancient language, letters: they all began to pour out of the wound on the top of its head, and then they swirled around Talitha's arm, whirling about in an endless dance before they sank down into her shimmering dagger, soaking into the Code Core that it now was. Talitha would feel the energy of the Mercury Soldier as it became one with her and bolstered her body--its code flowing through her and becoming one with her. At that point, her vision would begin to darken, and she would slowly gain consciousness. The doctors would explain to her her options--that she could go to the Headquarters, located in Gondora, the floating city. Or she could go to the baiter base in Kampala for a mission. She was a baiter now, and she could do as she pleased.

How can I sleep at night, there's a war inside my head
I found the lion hidden right beneath my bed
I will not hide myself from the tears that you have shed
Cause I am a lion and you are dead

Talitha gasped awake, jolting up- or trying to at least. Leather straps held her in place and allowed her little to no movement. Her chest heaved up and down, constricted, her eyes searching for familiar faces. Was she actually awake? Did she really beat the core? When her eyes met with Dr. Katani’s, she saw a smile on the woman’s face. “You are a b***h.” Talitha moaned out as a couple doctors came and released her from the tight grips of the leather straps, allowing her to sit up. “Yeah, that’s what everyone says.” Dr. Katani rolled her eyes and motioned for Talitha to follow her. Talitha took a shaky step off the bed, but continued on normally after her first two, arms crossed over her chest, her blade now in her hands. She glanced down at it- was it really inside her blade now or was it dead for good? She’d be fine with the ladder, as she never wanted to see its faceless face again. “You did pretty well for not having any experience with AI Cores.” Dr. Katani said, glancing back at her as they walked down a hallway, towards what looked like a woman with a masked face and a darker skinned man with dreads. Talitha ignored her question for a moment as she stared at them, they were B.A.I.T.R’s she could tell by how different they looked from everybody else in the building. She gripped her knife tighter and gulped down a nervous lump in her throat as she passed them by- not noticing that Dr. Katani had stopped in front of her.

She collided with the doctor and then jumped back a couple feet, still alert from what seemed like a fight that lasted forever. “Sorry… I’m a little jumpy.” She pressed her lips together in a tight line and let her hands fall by her side, sliding her knife back into its holster strapped around her thigh. Dr. Katani shook her head and glanced around the entrance. “So from here, you’re done. You have the option to go get your first mission, or relax those nerves of yours for a little bit.” She laughed. She left the newly made B.A.I.T.R on her own and went back to whatever she was doing before Talitha had showed up in the Base. Talitha clenched her jaw and turned to the two normal looking people in the room, and offered them a slight smile, though it didn’t really seem as though they were even paying attention to her. Where would I go to get a mission? Hm… Do I really need a mission right after fighting something like that? I should go see dad… It was like a war in her mind. However, the first thing she was going to be doing was returning home to see if her father had returned safely yet. She quickly turned away from the two and walked calmly out of the Kampala headquarters and made her way home, shaking off her nerves on her seemingly short walk home.

The newly made B.A.I.T.R entered her home and was greeted with the promise of food shortly after her return and the news that her father had returned. She let out a soft sigh she’d been holding in since she started her walk home and let her hair down out of its ponytail. She was in the process of taking off her shoes, when she heard familiar laughter coming her way and glanced down the hallway to see her father turning the corner. The two made eye contact and Talitha couldn’t help but smile big. When she finally kicked her shoes off, she ran at her father who just stood there with a smile on his face. He accepted his daughters hug, and lifted her off the ground momentarily, reminding her that he hadn’t lost any of his strength. “Hello daddy.” She laughed softly as he put her down. She knew that he knew exactly what she did, and his heart could only ache for her- he thought he’d never see his baby girl again.

It wasn’t that he didn’t believe in her strength as a warrior, he just couldn’t bear the thought that her death was a possibility in this initiation. He had left the house before she even woke because he couldn’t bear to say goodbye to his only beautiful baby girl. “I’m so proud of you…” He could be nothing but happy now that he had his daughter in his arms.

Talitha laughed softly and then pulled away from him and bounced her way to the kitchen, her nerves seem to grow again as she entered the kitchen, small flashes of the battle behind her eyes. Part of her expected to see the kitchen destroyed from the fight but was relieved to see it was all in one piece still, with life bustling and working around to make a meal for the whole house. When she entered, one of the bakers pulled her over and tempted her with freshly baked cookies, which she gladly took. “These are delicious, thank you.” She smiled at the young baker, smiling. The baker gave her a wide smile back and she turned to see her father standing in the doorway, a smile on his face.

Though it felt good to be home, all she could feel was the AI Core looming over her. She exited the kitchen with a few quick goodbyes and brushed past her father, her palm resting on his shoulder as she passed him. He turned on his heel and followed her down the hallway and into the training room, which she thoroughly inspected before taking a seat against the wall beside the weight rack. “Dad, it was right here- in this house.” She muttered softly, brushing her fingers through her hair, pushing it back from her face. She undid the holster on her thigh and threw it to him. “It’s trapped in there now.” She said, finding sanctuary in telling her father. He knew too well what a baiter was, her mother was one apparently. A soft sigh left the older man’s lips and he sat beside his daughter, putting his arm around her shoulders. He didn’t exactly know what words to say to her, so he just sat there with her in his arms. It was enough for Talitha, just to know that her father was there with her. “Perhaps you should make an appointment with the resort in Gondora.” He suggested, placing a soft kiss on the top of her head. She nodded and sighed, “Is there an option?” She laughed, knowing her father wasn’t one for just making suggestions. “Not really, you’re going whether you like it or not, baby girl.” She rolled her eyes and got to her feet, brushing herself off and looking up at her father.

She was tall, but he was at least five inches taller than she was. “Alright, I’ll have one of the workers call for you and then see you out then, hmm?” He mused, following her out of the room. She snorted and nodded, leaving him alone in the hallway as she ran to her room to pack her bags for the night. She’d start work early tomorrow morning, after she finished relaxing at her father’s ‘subtle’ request.

If only she knew, if only she knew her looks were for nothing. It wouldn't matter regardless, she just needed to get out more. It was always about making your way out and becoming one with the world around you. That would be fun, she just needed a partner or something. She wondered of the people around here, if someone would need a partner, and so she would put in a request. Bruce had a very nice smile, something she would take into account and remember for a while. It made her blush, made her feel...Warm and respected. Then she realized it made her feel human. She laughed with Bruce, happy at this moment, even a bit more rejuvenated. "I hope after this it gets easier, you know?" She said with a laugh. When Bruce laughed, she shrank a bit. It was crushing, like being told she was doing a good job only to be spit in the face. She went quiet, listening to Bruce. She said nothing to him, simply listened to him, trying to hold back her disappointment and swelling tears. She could hide it in her voice at-least, something that wouldn't betray her. "I see. I just have to...Take it easy" She said, trying her best to Chill. She found it hard, simply not being so out there, not being a soldier ready for war. It made her a bit queasy but she didn't care. Off she was, ready to go to Last Chance. "Thank you for all your help" She said to Bruce, heading to the buggies. She then stopped. "Oh wait, if there is anyone here who needs a partner, you can tell them to come find me. I wouldn't mind having someone to hang around with. I shouldn't be the only recruit who just made it out right?" She said with a smile. With that, she was on the buggie, off to her destination. She wondered what she might find, what was waiting for her. If she was to get a new partner, would they be friendly? She had put herself out there, and now she was at the whim of the world. Would she gain a partner? Not have to do this alone? It was sad to have to be out like this, but if she became the top by herself, she would rule, by herself. What other way would she know? Someone just had to break her in.

ooc: Exit.
