Ava's head snapped up to attention when she heard a squeak and felt a tap on her shoulder, head turning back just in time to see... Kanna. Her eyes widened, fingers tightening against the paper cup in her hand. Suddenly, the hybrid placed a feather within her hand, head turning to examine it before glancing at the other's wing to figure where she had taken the feather from. For a second her face faltered, developing into a soft pout and widened eyes as she watched the other, her heart accelerating.
They would take her away. No. She wouldn't allow that.
Her hand gently set the feather on her lap, placing the cup on the floor before her hand extended and gently touched her partner's, thumb rubbing over her knuckled.
"You aren't going anywhere." She promised, eyes drifting back to where Kestrel stood. None of these Grimm were going anywhere if they didn't wish to, and seeing her partner's fear was enough to ignite that flame once more. Every single Grimm who went with Kestrel better want to, or she'd ignore the higher-up's orders. A finger brushed against the feather she held, tail lashing violently under her.

"You're welcome." he said taking his thermos back, and then sighed. "I hope he gives up soon...He's always doing this. Everyone hates when he comes to meetings. Always making ridiculous demands he can't possibly support and then having a tantrum when he gets told no." he shook his head, finished his water and then poured another cup. "The only thing you can halfway count on is Mink telling him to shut up, and even then he doesn't listen to her." he shifted in his chair again. He carefully stretched out one of his legs and made a face as his knee twinged in pain from the movement.
He glanced up as the hybrid appeared and frowned. Half Grimm...Kestrel would most definitely be after her. Although she was older...and given the reaction by the PE teacher, she was unlikely to want to go as well. He nodded to the Fallen/Grimm and then shook his head at Kestrel again. Moron...never thinking anything through.

Watching the room a little more for the various reactions, Kestrel's eyes fell on a pair of Grimm. A mother and child? Though they looked nothing alike...How... interesting. However, listening to the whispers behind him, he turned his gaze to the half fallen hybrid. Yes. This one would do well. "No Mink. We are asking them to leave. We need them, don't you understand?" He frowned, standing tall and proud with a swish of his tail. "We're dying. We need them to survive."

Batholith was not a graduate. He was not a staff member. Hell, he wasn't even a Grimm, or part Grimm. He was a senior at the Academy, a new arrival in his first year here, and his parents had been decidedly Eurosian. So no, he really had no reason to be approaching the auditorium with a commandeered janitor's cart carrying four five-gallon buckets of water and a pallet of water bottles he'd requisitioned from the cafeteria. It had been surprisingly easy, actually--the staffer there had made a sigh of long-suffering and asked him morosely if it was a "diplomatic emergency." Batholith made a mental note to figure out who that redheaded Baphomet was and how she'd managed to bully the kitchen staff around.
That didn't matter right now--he was a man on a mission. And better yet, this man on a mission now had an opening, a way to get in. As he approached the auditorium doors with its guardians on either side, he spoke the mystic password:
"Diplomatic emergency."
The security staff sighed and opened the doors to let him in. The room was packed with Grimm, and he was aware suddenly of how loud and squeaky his cart was that he pushed across the floor. He made a B-line for the barbelled stranger, the father of "lady Athena." Apparently he needed water. Eh, some people needed water, he supposed. Ignoring anyone staring at the interloper, he wheeled the cart until it was right behind Ryuuichi. He unloaded the buckets, one by one, placing them in front of the elder Nixie, then set the pallet on the floor between the buckets. A quick use of his long nails and the package was open. "Compliments of your daughter," he murmured quietly. His mission complete, he turned right around and wheeled to the door, pausing only to shoot Kestrel a look that could melt steel.
He would not be taking the young Grimm away. Not on his watch.

She frowned, turning to view her mate with disapproval. He insisted on taking, but didn't he realize that'd only end in chaos? They'd rebel, and eventually fight. More numbers would be lost. They were asking for a war if they went Kestrel's option. Kidnap an entire race from the academy? Take their graduates? This wasn't the way.
"You want us to force them to come?" She murmured back, voice low so the others couldn't hear. "And what happens when they rebel, Kestrel? When they fight back because we stole them?" Her tail snapped in irritation, eyes narrowing. No. This was wrong. They weren't like the old Demon's. They weren't monsters. This wasn't right!
"They are people with feelings. They belong here. They were raised here. We can't kidnap them. If they want to come they can. That's my stand, and I'm not budging." Oh no, she was giving Kestrel the tone. The this-is-final-and-if-you-continue-pestering-me-I'm-done tone. The tone that clearly said she was fed up. She huffed and turned her attention back to the other Grimm, tail wagging in excitement once more. Forget Kestrel! Maybe some would come home with them! Willingly.
When a red and grey Nightmare approached she blinked, noticing the look sent to Kestrel. She sent her own look towards her partner. 'I told you so', it read, before she triumphantly looked back at the Grimm.

Lerin had never hated her classes before this but ugh it had drawn out for so long...so long. Luckily she was able to practically run over to Asphodel academy the second class let out. Of course she couldn’t quite remember the school ever being this large before. Ugh she needed to find Allie and Frost. She should have just ditched the second she got that text message. Why hadn’t she just got up and ran out of the classroom. Okay drastic measures were needed. After grabbing someone and “politely” asking them where to go she skidded into the auditorium. Where was allie… Allie? Nope that wasn’t an Allie. How hard could finding a pair of salt and pepper Grimms be… she was going to pull out her hair at this rate… what was that? Yes, yes it was. She crossed her arms and moved between the people in the auditorium and snagged the seat next to her people. No one was taking what was hers and her salt and pepper where definitely hers. She would like to see someone try to take them away from her.

The stare from Kestrel made her blood run cold. She couldn't even feel the comforting touch of her girlfriend anymore, eyes going wide as she went pale. No. Ohgod no, please, no don't take her away, please don't take her away from here! Hand shaking a bit, she pulled it away from Ava and up to her chest, slowly backing up on her paws. No...oh please no! Tears welling up, she had no choice but to run, needing to find somewhere safe and warm that he couldn't find her, somewhere no one ever could! Of course, in the fit of a panic attack, it happened to be the basement of the auditorium. Curling up tight around herself, she rocked carefully, trying to make it all go away. It was just a bad dream, right?

And that would have been the end of it. He had things to get back to--questions to ask, a kid to hang out with and reassure. But he was stopped clear in his tracks, not far from where the teachers stood by a single thing he'd seen out of the corner of his eye. He turned his head to see if he was correct in what he saw, and...and he was.
He knew that look in Kestrel's eyes. He'd seen that look in Kestrel's eyes before, though not on him. Not even on a Grimm, either, but on a Demon, not so long ago (not nearly long enough ago). He'd seen that look, and now it was directed towards a hybrid--a half-Grimm, half-fallen hybrid. One of his teachers, he thought, but that wasn't what got him riled up. That look directed at that combination of traits...
It wasn't that Bath's blood boiled precisely. It was more that he felt something warm drip off his hand and onto his boots. He realized that he'd released the cart at some point and balled his hands into fists. Now his nails were cutting into his palm, and the blood was starting to flow. The hair all over his body was on end, making his tail look like a bottle brush. His ears lay so flat against his skull that he could barely hear. Not that he would have been able to hear much over the pounding of blood in his ears."
Consequences be damned. Our Lady of Life and Death, Headmistress Ava herself, be damned. Quick strides took the Nightmare of Lower Asphodel into Kestrel's face and a bloodied finger was jammed into the shaman's face. "Hybrids. Are not. Meat," he hissed. "We. Are not. Yours. No one at this school. Is yours!" he shouted. His voice rang throughout the auditorium, but he didn't care. Because his face was flushed and unpleasant memories mixed with happy daydreams to become a boiling froth of mixed horror and wrath. "You want to take the willing Grimm to your stinking, festering homeland, be our guests! But try to take a student--just one student, pureblood or hybrid from this place, then you will meet opposition. You will not get out of here without a fight. And we will not rest until we have rescued every. Last. One of our classmates!"
The last word was the loudest--loud enough that it finally broke his concentration. He'd blown up. He'd threatened violence. He was so very royally screwed. Guiltily, he glanced at Ava. Our Lady of Life and Death. Please be merciful, by all the Nine Gods and all the many more. He'd blown up. He didn't want to get punished.
But at the same time, he did not regret his tirade. Because his worst fear had been confirmed:
Kestrel wanted to take Temperance--his kind, sweet roommate, the only purehearted person he'd ever met--away from him. And he would not let that happen.

The appearance of the hybrid pushing a cart was almost comical as he slowly made his way up and around and onto the stage, and began unloading buckets of...water? What in the...? He shifted and watched the young man set down a pallet of water bottles next to his chair. He then heard him say something about Athena, and Ryuuichi had to let a smile caress his features. That girl...
"Thank you..." he said softly as the Imp/Demon departed.
Although what to do about the buckets...? He couldn't douse himself, he'd make a huge mess even if it was absolutely what he wanted to do at the moment. He sighed and then managed to slide one around, carefully took off his shoes, socks and hiked his pants up a bit and planted his feet in the bucket. It wasn't much but he immediately felt slightly better. He pulled a handkerchief out of another of his interior pockets dabbed it on another bucket and mopped his face with it. There, that alleviated some of the irritation in his face and then dunked his hands for good measure. He leaned back feeling slightly better and who cared what Kestrel did next, he at least had water. Seth wasn't that far behind Lerin, but thus far hadn't seen her or Allie. Allie had left so suddenly and taking Frost with her, it just wasn't like her at all. He slipped into the auditorium and was baffled by the amount of Grimm and Grimm hybrids. There were a few non-Grimm as well, but predominately...
He shook his head and looked around. He had to find Allie. Whatever was going on was definitely bad, not to mention she had their boy with her. Was Lerin already here too? He wished he knew, but no one seemed to be answering their phones. he walked slowly down the aisle along the side and was halfway down when he noticed his girls back up a few rows. He quickly went back to them and knelt down next to Allie who was sitting on the end, holding out his arms to Frost. "You okay? What's going on?" he looked between Allie and Lerin for answers.

Ava's head snapped up when the hybrid, Kanna, began to panic. She could sense it, her own blood running cold as her partner fled the scene. She made a move to stand, instead flopping down back in the chair. No, she couldn't leave. She had a responsibility to this academy, but for once it ached her not to abandon the academy and run after the woman she had accepted into her life. Her startling green eyes flicked to stare at Kestrel, a new rage igniting. This was his fault. He had come to her home, harassed her people, and scared her girlfriend off.
She was going to murder him.
The tip of her tail lashed, the only action giving away her rage. She had molded her face into a polite and stoic face. Her body had remained still, hands folded together. Calmly. She must remain calm before the others. It was the uncharacteristically amusing scene from a familiar hybrid that was her saving grace. Her boiling rage simmered at the sight of Batholith, an eyebrow raising as he approached the scene. Her tail, once again, betrayed her delight, wagging twice before silencing itself in her lap. She didn't respond as Batholith glanced back at her, instead flicking her gaze to Kestrel. The tightening or her lips revealed her agreement with Batholith, and within seconds she had risen from her seat and approached the angry hybrid.
"Batholith," She called, voice firm despite the shaking anger that still resided. "Come, sit down with me." She gestured towards the seats by her and Ryuuichi before turning towards Kestrel, a hand having lifted to touch Batholith's shoulder in an attempt to calm his public rage.
"He is right," She whispered, voice low and face holding a polite, business smile before the Grimm and hybrid's. She would not lose face. Not even if she wanted to punch this Grimm right in the face. Which she did. Thank you. "You will not kidnap a student without a fight. We will rescue the ones taken by force." And with this she gently squeezed Batholith's shoulder in reassurance before heading to her seat, glancing back at the hybrid in-case he took her offer to sit with him. He was useful, surely. That and it was always good to have an ally, no matter the age. Perhaps he could assist her in protecting the Grimm.

Frost turned just in time to catch the look that the angry Grimm sent his way and the child frowned. There was something in the man's expression that made Frost want to growl...but the man turned his attention to something else. He was fighting with a grey and red nightmare. Everyone was so angry, Frost thought that the big Grimm should be quiet and let the girl talk more. The boy was distracted by the arrival of his other parents and he beamed up at them. Maybe now Mama Allie would feel a little better? He still felt the tension in her from before, so he knew he hadn't been much help. He smiled at Mama Lerin and hopped into his Dad's arms for a big hug. Everyone was really huggy today. "Papa, the nice lady up there wants to teach us about being Grimm. But the angry man keeps talking." Frost looked at Allie and back to Seth. "We don't like the angry man; he looked at us." Frost frowned at Seth, trying to share how...disturbed he'd felt over it.

Seth smiled at the little pale Grimm and hugged him tight then let him sit on his knee. He glanced up at the stage at the pair of strange Grimm as Frost spoke. He glared at the male, who obviously had upset his Allie and Frost. Well, alright their Allie and Frost, including Lerin in his ire that he figured she must be having too. "I see." he reached out and placed a hand on the back of Allie's paw, getting her to twist so he could put his hands in hers. "You okay?" he asked his little Grimm girlfriend. "I need to beat anyone up for you?" he tried to tease, but it came out far more serious than he'd meant it too.
Someone one was threatening his family, and like hell he was going to let them tear apart what had been so hard to build.

Allie couldn't even manage to reply, reluctantly letting Frost go. At least the child could speak for her, her voice just...couldn't work right now. She felt like she was drowning in everything, she didn't want to leave, she didn't want to be taken, and Ava's words hurt her...She wasn't one of her students, what about her? Was she just going to be thrown to the wolves while Frost was rescued? Shaking and pale, she felt like she couldn't even move, unable to respond to either of her partners for the moment.

Kimani had be listening quietly, taking in all that was going on. From what she got was that grimm didn't have a choice. Kestrel had planned to take them whether his mate agreed or not. Kimani wasn't opposed to fighting, especially to protect the younger grimms. She knew a particular few she'd easily defend. "Ava's right, there will be a fight if you forcefully take even one grimm." She told Kestrel, fully intending on protecting anyone that needed it. There was no way this other grimm was just gonna walk in here and order all the grimms back.

He could sense the pure rage behind him, though expected nothing to become of it. They were cowards, they had never known the rage of battle, they had never seen sickness take their families one by one. Of course, lost in his thoughts, watching the life fade from his mother again in his head, he hadn't expected the blood. It was like it had happened to him again, the blood of the previous shaman hitting his face with her last sputtering breath, and now the blood of a hybrid doing the same. His eyes locked on Bath's, an intensity of emotion behind them that had been absent in his prior interactions, and yet his face remained cold and collected. He didn't reply, simply letting his eyes fallow the student as he finally realized his shame in exploding, letting the blood remain on his face. With that, he simply turned to eye the students again, before turning on his heels and leaving. It was clear he would be back, maybe after he'd cleaned up a bit, but for now...Mink was in charge.
