She'd closed off - well, more than she already had. Fritz could see it on her face, could see her sheltering herself away. It was kind of sad, especially since she was just such a young girl - she should have a lot more romantic notions in her head at her age.
He smiled at her.
"What's your name?" Fritz asked. "I'm Fritz, by the way."Clearly he hadn't been scared off just yet.

Clearly he had not been.
Fritz, as he said his name was, was very persistent and it somewhat bothered her and yet...made her wonder...why talk to her still? Had she not been cruel enough? Was she not offputting by closing herself in the walls of her own mind?
Why was she interesting? She wasn't. The girl's voices came to mind. Stick in the mud. Freak, quiet, nerd. Because she wasn't overly giggly and found that makeup and boys were not her thing? Until she was so frustrated that she would lash out.
Red lipstick on her face, red forming over her knuckles. It was the first time she had ever hit someone, but Annalise had it coming. She berated her, forced her into the group so they could make fun of her. She didn't even feel a little guilty over the blood pouring from her nose. Good. Break her nose. Maybe they'll turn on her and pick on her. Maybe she could be left alone. Finally.
"Regan." she muttered, quietly as she handed over her card.

One of the few traits that Fritz shared with his brother was that indelible stubbornness of his. Tolliver was stubborn in a more quiet way, subtle even, whereas Fritz was just outright refusing to let things go half of the time, especially when he thought he could make a difference, somehow.
He took the offered card and glanced down at it, a smile blossoming across his face. She might not have been the most sociable, no, but he wasn't about to hold that against her. Many people weren't as outgoing as he was, or as willing to ramble on about nonsensical things as he could.
"Regan," said Fritz, committing the name to memory. "So, Regan, it's a pleasure to meet you. And I'm sorry if I seem persistent, but I do feel that everyone deserves a good smile every now and then."
And as if to prove his point, he beamed one at her.

She looked at him again as she paid and then away.
"If you were to continue to be persistent, then perhaps you will have to find me while I am at work." She took her newly bagged goods.
"I am short of smiles, and I am not so good anymore." She ended with that. "It was...interesting to meet you." She cocked her head. "Goodbye Fritz"
