Puck grinned. "Nah, most of the people calling me stupid were just winding me up -- teasing me." Of course there were a few that meant it, and for them he had a fist of his own for them to eat. But he knew what Juno meant by it, that she was neither winding him up or insulting him. He felt his heart swell a little. She had interesting ways of expressing fondness, and he rather liked it. "You're bloody well right there aren't!" he laughed as she commented on not having enough hours in the day to punch everything that needed it, or doing it alone. "You'll always have me around to help you punch things. It's fun!" And it was -- he hadn't had nearly so much fun beating up things on his own as he'd had so far with her. Then she shoved him gently and issued her challenge, and before he could react she had taken off. "Oi!" He tore off after her as fast as he could as his mind processed her words. He desperately wanted to know more about both senshi stuff and the Negaverse, but especially about what he was now and what he could do. So catching her was definitely a high priority. This was going to be a fun chase, despite her longer legs. She said he could use roofs too. What had she meant by that? Was that something else that he could do now, jump and run along rooftops? Experimentally he shifted his gait slightly and leapt for the nearest roof -- and to his surprise he landed on his feet on top of the building. He grinned then, huge and excited. This was cool! With a running start he leapt for the next one and then the next until he had gotten into a rhythm. Casting about with his senses, he picked up Juno's aura on the ground and began to follow it, leaping from rooftop to rooftop like someone out of a kung fu movie. He'd catch up with her pretty quickly at this rate. "Think you can outrun me, love?" he called into the night. Iris_virus He is also a cheeky monkey XD

She heard his exclamation of surprise, followed by the sound of boots slapping the pavement, so Juno didn't need to turn around to figure out if he'd taken her challenge. Not that she'd really ever believed he wouldn't. She also didn't wait or play easy with him either, bolting immediately around a corner, it was sink or swim for the fledgling senshi.
The night air, while still a little on the warm side, felt amazing against her skin as she ran, her braids and the longer bits of her fuku trailing behind her. Unlike Puck who was paying attention to her aura she'd even blocked out that, for the moment thinking about nothing but peace of the night. It helped really.. to calm her down a bit and sooth the feelings jumble of emotions that were still lingering despite the menshi's kindness (or maybe some of them were because of it). It only took a couple blocks for her breathing to find a nice rhythm and for her mind to turn entire to the game at hand.
Though she was following her rules and handicaps, never once touching a roof, it didn't mean the Amazon was sticking entirely to the streets. Here or there a tempting tree branch or mostly horizontal flag pole would catch her attention and she'd jump, swinging around it before launching off again with a laugh and burst of speed. At one point she took to hopping from parked car to car, a smirk crossing her face when one of them suddenly blared to life with the obnoxious trills of a security alarm her presence had set off. She used light posts to swing and make quick 90 degree turns. In and out of alleys, up and down the main streets. Juno was like a very big child and the city was her playground.
He had been close enough for her to here his taunt echo from the rooftops somewhere nearby, and despite the fact that it would give her away some she found it impossible not to call back. "Is no thinking. Only knowing." She shouted defiantly back into the night, a look of absolute bliss settling on her face, her stress having faded back to deal with at some other time.
It was true. In a real race it would be no competition. Between her athleticism, longer legs, and the greater speed boost that was given to her as a super senshi she'd outrun him no problem. But this was no straight track race they were taking, and Puck only needed a little strategy and will power to even the playing field. And though Juno was not the sort to ever go easy or let someone else win, she couldn't say she'd be disappointed when he eventually did catch her. tatterpixie Feel free to have him catch her in your post. heart

Puck was having fun too, chasing her through the city from the rooftops. With each leap across a gap between buildings his ability and confidence improved (not that he was not already pretty confident he'd catch her). Soon he was making a game of it: seeing how far he could jump and still land on his feet, playing with hang time and changing direction midair, jumping down to the ground and back up to a nearby roof. It was all a grand new adventure. Her defiant taunt, though, brought him back to the mission at hand, which was to catch Juno. Unfortunately for her, she'd given her position away with her shouting. He was closer to her than he thought he was! Despite her increased super senshi speed and long athletic legs, he realized he might actually have a chance of catching her. Looking down as he leapt between two buildings, he saw her running down a narrow street diagonally to him. He landed with a skid and immediately headed off in a direction parallel to her, zigzagging across the rooftops of the buildings lining the street. As she leapt to grab a light pole, he knew this was his chance. He took a flying leap off the building he was on like he was diving off a stage into a mosh pit, falling spread-eagle through the air on a trajectory that would intercept her if he'd timed it right. With a grunt his body collided with hers from behind, and he quickly wrapped his arms around her waist. He twisted then so he landed on his back on the pavement, shielding her body with his. "Gotcha," he panted with a grin into her armpit.

Since she wasn't really paying attention to his aura, at least not trying to pinpoint it, and having the disadvantage of not seeing up as easily as he could see down Juno had no clue he was about to hit her. She leapt with the deft grace of a gymnast, one sandaled foot and one hand touching the pole as she prepared to swing around it and send herself around the next corner. But at the exact moment he knocked into her, causing her to yelp out in surprise as she lost her grip and plummeted towards the ground.
Her forearms crossed in front of her instinctively, bracing to protect her face from the pavement, but in the seconds it took for them to fall he twisted and moved so that he hit the ground first and she merely felt some of the force that traveled through him.
His proud exclamation of victory brought a fit of amused laughter to the Brazilian who remained in place, probably squashing him, not yet attempting to wriggle her way out of his interlocked arms. It wasn't until now that she'd realized how much she'd winded herself in the 15 or so minutes they'd been running rampant, and she was happy to just try and catch her breath. "This time yes." She replied breathily, actually pretty impressed with how quickly he had caught her and what she could only assume had been some pretty good aim to hit her how he did. But that couldn't quell her competitive spirit entirely as she mused. "But we see how you do without handicap next time."
As she waited for him to release her so that she could roll off of him, though still making no visual effort to free herself on her own, she hummed thoughtfully, ready to uphold her part of the wager. "You want to ask certain question or I just tell you a thing or two?" tatterpixie What a pro/gentlemen. XD Also yay for inadvertently teaching!

Puck wasn't being squished by Juno's weight on him at all, though her laughter vibrated right through to his spine, resting as he was flat on his back on the pavement. He couldn't help but laugh at her laughter, even as out of breath as he was. It was amazing to him that he had actually caught her, and he almost didn't want to let go of her. "Yeah, we'll see next time." That had been a good workout, and he'd gotten practice doing things never knew he could do now. Running along the rooftops and leaping between buildings had been one of the most fantastic things he had ever experienced. He felt like a superhero -- he hadn't felt so free since he was a little kid running around his neighborhood and the parks of London. And he could see how useful that skill would be chasing down youma and Negaverse arseholes. He finally released her from his grasp, then he moved to prop himself up on his elbows. "I have a lot of questions, actually, but I can't think of them all right now. Too bloody tired. You tell me a thing or two then -- I will guarantee you that I won't know it already." He laughed again at his own ignorance. This was turning into a very educational patrol. Iris_virus He cares about his friends! heart

When his hands finally unlocked Juno moved, but she didn't go very far, simply rolling off to the side of him. And as he propped himself on his elbows instead of attempting to get up immediately, she went ahead and continued to lay herself propping her head up in a hand as she lounged on her side. Perhaps when they'd fully caught their breath they'd worry about getting up, but who really was going to stop them if they wanted to be idiots laying around in dirty alleys? No one, that's who.
She was slightly relieved when he left the information up to her, especially after announcing that he had 'lots of questions'. He would very quickly come to the point where he knew everything Juno could teach him, and probably surpass it pretty easily too. There were tons of senshi and knights out there that would be much more helpful in pretty much every topic except sparring practice. But for now she could still help, and as he laughed at himself she hmmm'd for a moment thoughtfully.
Finally she settled on a topic. What better topic than self preservation, especially considering the vested interest she had in him staying alive. "I tell you before that Negaverse has weapons, some with range too yes? Negaverse actually has many tricks so you must be careful around them."
"Even ones that do not have range, if you knock their weapon away sometimes they can just... poof" Her free hand motioned mildly as she explained. "and then it is back in their hand again. Magic."
"The stronger ones can do it to themselves too. One moment in one place and then poof, gone. Or poof, other side of you. When they use it to escape battle is just annoying, but they can use during battle too to cheat."
"Other magic they can do is the most important and worse." Her free hand dropped, fingertips coming to rest on the center of his chest. "In here is your life. Is..." Her eyes rolled up for a moment trying to remember the weird name for the very important thing that was tucked away in his chest. "Starseed. That is what everyone calls it."
"Negaverse has magic that lets it reach inside of your body." Her fingertips, which had been barely grazing his chest before began to press with a bit more pressure, twisting slowly for emphasis. "They can grab your starseed and break it or take it. Both you will die. They can also use magic to turn you bad like them if they are holding your starseed." Not to mention it hurt like a b***h to have a hand inside your body. And was oddly startling, making it hard to move and escape. But hopefully he'd never have to feel any of it himself. It was, after all, why she was warning him specifically about it. Fingertips flattening until her whole hand rested on his chest for a moment, lingering almost protectively.
"And then the monsters too. Youmas. Stronger Negaverse people can tell youmas what to do."
They were a formidable enemy, the Negaverse, which may have been some of the reason why Juno was always so... forceful and had no mercy with her enemies. But Puck was strong and resilient like she was. As long as he knew the tricks that the Negaverse had and couldn't be blind sided by them. That was what she told herself at least.tatterpixie It appears someone else does too. ;D

Expression sobering, Puck listened intently as Juno explained the abilities of the Negaverse to him. Poofing in and out -- he decided she meant teleportation. They could do that? That felt almost like cheating. And the whole thing with their weapons poofing back into their hands. That really wasn't fair, given that the senshi didn't have weapons. His eyes followed her fingers when she touched his chest, and almost winced when she applied pressure and twisted them as she told him about his starseed and how important it was to protect it. They could turn him bad, like they were -- they could make him one of them. Or they could kill him by taking it. He thought back to that Negaverse captain he'd fought when he'd first met Juno. She could have done any of those things to him and he'd have been none the wiser. And possibly dead. He felt her hand flatten against his chest and linger there for a moment, feeling his skin tingle a bit beneath her touch, before she told him about how some Negaverse agents could control youma. "Like the one we fought," he stated. He hadn't forgotten about that youma either, despite being focused on beating up the Negaverse officer. She had shrieked when the youma was dusted by Juno, had called it by name; he'd thought it was her pet. "Thank you for letting me know," he nodded sincerely. "I really had no idea of what they could do. I just knew I hated them. Now I hate them even more." He kind of wished Faust had clued him in a bit more on some of these things, like the whole starseed thing, or that the primer on his phone hadn't been so vague about some of them too. With answers and explanations this disjointed, it was a wonder to him that the Negaverse didn't completely run the city. Oh wait, they kind of did, since they seemed to control the news. "But we have our powers too, right?" he asked. "Our enhancements and our magic. That should help beat them, right?" Though he couldn't see how -- he'd never actually seen magic in action. Iris_virus Now he really wants to go out and beat some Nega butt XD

"Yes like that one. They were team. But sometimes they will tell regular youma to do stuff too."
From his change in expression he seemed to understand the gravity of her words and information. Which was good and brought a small smile to her face as her hand rose from his chest, before giving him a slightly forceful poke. "Now that you know I will be very angry if you get yourself killed." Or corrupted... Not that it was ever as simple as that but.. oh well.
His spoken hatred of the Negaverse drew a positive response. A deft nod as she agreed wholeheartedly. In fact, perhaps more so than the average, as seen by the viciousness in the fact that she would, and did on occasion, actually 'kill' them.
Shifting from her side to her back Juno sat up, stretching her arms up above her. "Yes we have powers. And numbers too. It usually seems like there are more of us than is of them when there are big fights. Knights have weapons and magic too that can help fight better against Negaverse weapons."
"If senshi will start trying harder and stop talking so much then we can beat them, yes." Always too much talking. "We will just have to do ourselves until the rest of them figure it out." She mused, giving him another little nudge.
Glancing over to him thoughtfully she gestured mildly to the sky. "I still feel no youma around. We patrol more or be done for tonight?"

"Don't worry, love," Puck smiled in return as he was poked by her. "I have no plans on getting myself killed by some Negaverse arsehole." Now that he knew what they were capable of, he was going to be even more aggressive in taking them out. And careful to avoid being touched by one of them. He watched her as she stretched. "Good," he nodded when she spoke of the superior numbers of senshi and knights. "I don't know anything about knights, except that they're on our side. That's good enough for me." The whole section on knights in the primer was kind of vague, or maybe he just hadn't read it thoroughly. He'd have to go back over it and see if it had been updated or something. "That seems to be a problem with good guys across the board, right -- they talk more than they actually do stuff." He'd been hoping that wasn't the case with the senshi, but he was a bit disheartened to learn that it was the same with them. He was nothing if not a man of action; he hated meetings and talking and all that. He just wanted to punch things. Being a senshi gave him the perfect opportunity for lots of punching, which was good. He'd just have to step up in meetings then and espouse the virtues of punching. She nudged him again, and he grinned at her. "We'll just have to take matters into our own hands, won't we?" Sitting up, he gave her a little nudge in return. "We're pretty good at that," he mused. "We really do make a good team." He opened up his senses, casting about for any Chaos signatures. Absolutely nothing. A quiet night in Destiny City, for once. "Yeah, I think we're probably about done for the night." Giving a good stretch himself, he stood and offered her a hand up. "Pretty productive, I'd say. And fun." There was that word again. Team. It didn't have entirely the same connotation as the one she knew before with the quartet - not yet at least. But.. even despite herself she liked it. The idea of them patrolling together and beating the s**t out of things in tandum. Even if it was only sometimes, she had been a lone wolf for so long it felt strange that she actually liked the idea of patrolling with him. But then he was different then most.
With his nudge she grinned, giving him nothing more than a nod as he digested her words aloud and expressed his own opinion. She took the offered hand, lifting herself to stand alongside him as she rolled her shoulders mildly.
And in the end her hand lifted again, her fist held out to him in a similar motion to the one she'd offered him earlier, answering his thoughts with enthusiastic agreement in a statement what was strangely matter of fact. "Yes. We will ******** their s**t up."
Watch out Negaverse, here they came.
"Fun." She echoed, laughing a little quietly. "Yes, we will have to do again sometime soon." Secretly, or perhaps not so secretly, she couldn't wait.tatterpixie Yeah, I mean we could extend it by adding more things to talk about, but it's just as easy to chat about that stuff in later rps. So bringing it to a wrap sounds good to me. heart

"We will completely ******** their s**t up," Puck laughed in response. He bumped her fist and splayed out his fingers like an explosion as he withdrew his hand, making a little explosion sound. He really liked Juno, and Aitana, on multiple levels: she was smart, she was experienced as a senshi, she was awesome to patrol with, her Brazilian accent and broken English were cute, and she was pretty hot herself, all panther-sleek and athletic. He'd never met a girl quite like her -- but then, she was the first actual senshi he'd met. Still, she was special even in that regard. He hadn't forgotten what she'd told him about her past; he counted himself fortunate that she trusted him enough to bare her soul like that. He nodded enthusiastically. "Sure, soon is good with me! How soon? We could go out again tomorrow, if you like. Unless you think resting up is a better idea." Clearly he couldn't wait either. Iris_virus Okay heart I figure maybe a couple more posts? Then we can start the next one, muahahahah XD

Her own fist simply tucked against her hip after their little fist bump, though it was very clear from her expression that his little show and flourish had amused her greatly. Perhaps in the future hers would have to gain it's own flourish. Couldn't let him outdo her after all!
When he suggested tomorrow a laugh burst out of her, Juno leaning forward a little as a hand clapped his back. "Vigoroso! So greedy!" Or just enthusiastic really. Juno knew and related to enthusiasm. It was in fact a word that was often inscribed to her.
"Neither of us got hurt so tomorrow is fine." She agreed as her laughter subsided into simply a look of amusement. "I should get off work early enough and if something come up I can text you. Or other way if you." tatterpixie All the rps. 100 rps! XD heart

Puck didn't need a translator for Juno's expression for him. He was 'vigoroso' -- filled with vigor and ridiculously enthusiastic to go out and patrol again tomorrow. Preferably with her. He laughed as she clapped his back. She was 'vigoroso' too, which was probably a big part of why they hit it off so well. "Right, that works," he agreed with a nod and a grin. "I'll wait for a text from you then, or I'll text you if something comes up, and if I don't hear from you, meet at the same place?"

"Sounds like plan." She mused before taking a few steps forward, looking for a street sign to clue her in to where exactly they'd ended up. Unsurprisingly Juno hadn't been paying too much attention to 'where' she was going when she'd been running through the city before. Luckily the 'where' was familiar enough and wasn't too terribly far from home.
Looking back over her shoulder she offered him a wave goodbye before taking a leap that would take her all the way to the rooftop near them. "See you tomorrow."
It was her turn to play on the rooftops and maybe tomorrow they'd be able to get in a real tussle.tatterpixie Wrap on your post and start the next one?

"See you," Puck waived in return and he watched as she leapt to a nearby rooftop and disappeared into the night. He pretty much knew where he was, not too far from the arts district. It had been interesting, though, seeing it from the rooftops when he and Juno were playing their game of tag. Put a whole new perspective on the city. He hoped they could do that again sometime. He decided to stick to surface streets this time. With that decision, he took off in a trot toward home and a hot bath. He had a lot of things to process. Iris_virus Roger that, it's a wrap! heart
