He was getting looser, more open. Whether that was the beer or simply because of a growing comfort level the more they got to know each other only time and soberness would tell. For Aitana, the biggest hint of her tipsiness was how absolutely giggly she was getting about just about everything.
The raised toast and him downing his drink only prompted her to take another large drink herself, though there was still almost half of her glass remaining when she set it back onto the counter. Her fingers though, subconciously touched the cool condensation on her glass before reaching to rub the moisture onto her neck. If her skin weren't so tan he might have noticed the flush that was overtaking her slowly but surely as the alcohol rushed to her bloodstream.
"Really..?" She questioned, her gaze skeptical as he let her in on his secret. Certainly she'd had conversations like this before while hanging around with groups of guys or on the job site. The answers were usually far more visual things. Legs, asses, boobs, even that one weirdo who always chose like.. feet or something. But scent?
Taking a moment to think about it however, she couldn't deny that girls didn't smell nice. "I guess they smell pretty good." She snickered finally. "But curves are my favorite part of girls." Her hands reached out to make a classic hourglass shape, though it truth she meant all the curves. All together women just tended to be softer and curvier then 'most' men even in places like the shoulders or jawline.
Aitana was perhaps, giggling like a mad woman, as he basically agreed with her choice in instruments (hell yeah!) and put her thoughts more eloquently then someone like her could do. And as he treated her to a small hand drum solo, she grinned like an idiot, watching him with fascination. One of the reasons she'd never attempted an instrument before was because she feared it would be too boring. But he made it all sound a lot more physical and fun then she'd ever imagined.
"They have small Mardi Gras here in Destiny City each year. Is nothing like actual Carnival. But is fun still." The two she'd been too had only lasted the weekend instead of a week, and the parades weren't as impressive. But there was still music, and fun, and all the drinks, food, and beads she could ask for just for the tiny price of taking her top off. It was a very funny holiday in America.
His amusement and the clapping of her knee only brought Aitana into her own round of laughter, a finger raising to wag at him. "I do not know about that! Brazilians are very passionate people and Portuguese is the same." She had heard, and personally herself, had enough angry conversations in her native tongue to know that sometimes it didn't sound pretty at all. And sometimes, even when the words themselves did not have that harsh of a meaning, the mere sound of them on raised voices sounded far more threatening and angry then they actually were.
She was willing to test his theory however, and after another good sized drink the Brazilian leaned from her seat towards him, a hand placed on his shoulder for balance. There was a mischevious smirk on her lips before she said the first thing that popped into her head. "Via se foder, filho da puta."
It was a little on the loud side, probably enough to draw the attention of a few nearby people, as it seemed her volume button had gained a few notches without her noticing.

Here is a link if you want to hear what they sound like. XD Granted by a robot sounding lady, so they probably sound more fun coming from Aitana.
She's probably one drink away from finishing her second pint, but it's up to you how long they hang out. I personally don't care/mind if she gets trashed so if you want him to get awfully drunk himself they can stay for awhile. Or he can be responsible and try to usher her off home before too long. Whatever you like/is more IC for him. :3

"Oh yeah, I definitely like curves too," Rob nodded emphatically. "But then most blokes do. I just don't have a favorite… bit." He grinned wickedly. "I like them all. All girls. Big, little, round, not so round…" He almost added athletic but caught himself before he made a complete arse out of himself, taking a deep drink of his beer again. "Equal opportunity, I am."
Yeah, he was definitely starting to feel all the beer he'd been drinking. He figured Aitana was too, if not more. Bless, she was still trying to match him drink for drink. A fool's errand, trying to outdrink a Brit when beer was on the line. He'd have to ponder how to cut her off without offending her, and making sure she got home safely. That would be a real adventure.
Eventually. Right now he was having too much fun. She was pretty awesome.
At the mention of the local Mardi Gras celebration, he perked up. "Really? Well, then, we'll have to go! Show them how it's really done!" He imagined she'd be really wild at a party like that -- he hadn't been, of course, but he'd seen pictures and videos of the out-of-control revelry that went on at such celebrations. "I'll have to bring one of me hand drums, to get everyone dancing in the streets, right?" He beat out a quick conga rhythm on the bar again, moving enthusiastically to it. "We'll put on a proper show for them!"
Rob laughed too when she burst into laughter and admonished him on how passionate Brazilians were. He figured they must be, if she was any example. Then she put her hands on his shoulders and said something in Portuguese to him. That made him laugh even more. "I have no idea what you just said," he sputtered with glee, "but it certainly sounded pretty." She could have cursed him out and called his mother a goat for all he knew.
His volume was increasing too, without his realizing it. They were causing quite the scene in the small bar.

Oh, we can have them hang around a little bit longer -- Rob's already thinking about how to get her home safely, though he's getting pretty drunk himself. XD All depends on how quickly you want to wrap it up for Juno's growth! <3
Green braids swished mildly back and forth as she shook her head at his amusement, though her own smile grew all the more. He liked her cursing at him? Well she could find a lot nastier or dirtier things to say to him. But for now she simply pushed herself back to her own chair, musing nosily. "I say <******** you, son of b***h." If it weren't for all the laughter coming from their little portion of the counter someone might have assumed they were actually getting testy with each other after the loud exchange.
Rob's 'equal opportunity' comment received another amused snort from Aitana. She was perhaps the same way, able to appreciate something beautiful in almost everybody and form. Not that all of it effected her in the same way or brought forth the same amount of appreciation. She was, in fact, more the sort to admire from a distance, rarely riled up enough to actually flirt with someone herself. But it was true, there were far too many beautiful men and women out there to try and narrow to only liking one type. "Easily pleased or greedy even." She joked in return to his title of 'equal opportunity'.
"Yeah sure, I take you to Mardi Gras next time it comes around. I'm sure your drums will make even better." She agreed with a nod inspired by his own enthusiasm. "But is not until February so it will be awhile..."
"What is it you do for fun?" She piped up curiously as she finished off her second pint, sliding the glass towards the interior of the counter so that the bartender couldn't miss the fact it was empty. "Just music, beer, and bar fights?" The Brazilian teased. It was a pretty okay mix in her mind even if that WAS all he did. After all, the only thing she did for fun lately was beat the ever-loving s**t out of stuff at night.

I'm in no big rush, I've got two solos to pound out and a handful of rps close to the end sooo it shouldn't be too long even without rushing anyone along. ;3
BUT your post gave me a good idea! We could always just have the bartender cut Aitana off when she finishes her third pint, since they're already getting loud and rowdy. If you want you could even have Rob have a part in that if you like - subtle hint hint to the bartender since he knows him and all.

Rob stared at Aitana as she translated what she'd said, then burst out in loud, raucous laughter. "I was right! I was so right!" he chortled, poking at her shoulder. "You can curse someone out in Portuguese and it sounds pretty!" He allowed his laughter to calm down and patted her arm. "You can curse me out anytime you like," he grinned with a cheeky wink. "I won't give a crap what you say as long as it's in Portuguese."
He contemplated her question with another drink of his beer. "That's a lot of it, to be sure," he replied with a smile. "When I'm not busking or patr- um, other stuff, I'm home writing music or drinking here at pub. Oh right, I also work a lot on the house -- I've been restoring it since I moved in, and there's still a lot of work yet to do on it. And I putter around me garden, though my mum helps a lot with that." He gave a soft laugh. "Doesn't sound like fun, but it is.
"And I have a big project I'm working on." He sat up straighter, the enthusiasm showing on his face. "I'm working on putting together a record label for other punk bands here in Destiny City. The punk scene here is really fragmented -- broken up in little pieces -- and it's hard for them to get their music out there and heard. I aim to fix that." Taking another swallow of his drink, he continued. "Even if I have to sacrifice my own band to get it done. I'm partway to where I need to be to do this, and I've a bit of a ways to go yet. But I'll get there," he nodded decisively.
Resting his elbow on the counter, he studied the tall Brazilian as the bartender brought her another beer. "What about you? What do you do for fun?"
Her brows furrowed as Rob practically died in laughter, poking and teasing her playfully. But it was quickly followed by an over exaggerated roll of her eyes and an amused shake of her head. "Idiota." He probably didn't need a translation for that.
When he spoke of working on his house her interest visibly perked, shoulders seeming to lift a little. Never in her life had she imagined a job in construction, it had simply been a choice when she returned to Destiny City and needed to do something to feed herself. But now that she was doing it.. she found there was something satisfying about building things and fixing them. It was a good menial task too, especially when someone else was telling you what you needed to do to complete your task. "I help you sometime if you need extra hands for something." She offered mildly. He had offered to show her his house at some point anyway, seemed a fair enough trade. "I do not think such things are boring."
As he spoke about his big project Aitana found that she understood very little of it. She still wasn't 100% sure what type of music 'punk' was (surely she'd find out soon enough). Recording labels she knew even less about. But it hardly mattered. His enthusiasm, his resolution and drive, how happy even speaking about it made him and that was more than enough for her to want it for him. "That sounds amazing. I am sure you will do it. You are..." She was looking for a word like tenacious or resilient, but in the end she couldn't find an English word that was was happy enough with. "I believe you can." Aitana settled with finally, giving him a genuine smile.
Idly she wondered, in the back of her head, if she used to seem as excited when she talked about volleyball. Back before her everything happened and her dreams were crushed. But just because her dreams failed it didn't mean they all did. Rob's could come true. Would come true. And thankfully her next drink arrived before she could dwell too much longer on the past.
Still caught for a moment in her thoughts her first drink had been a bit of a long one, draining about a quarter of the fresh pint, before she looked towards Rob once more.
"You already saw the other night what I do for fun." A cryptic comment for anyone except Rob who almost certainly knew what she was talking about. It was all she did lately really. Well, up until some cool guy agreed to spar with her. And reintroduced her to the wonderful world of drinking.
"I am the one who is boring." She laughed with amusement. "But maybe I find some new fun things to do, no?"

"You'd like my house then -- it needs a lot of work," Rob laughed in enthusiastic response to Aitana's offer of construction help at his house. Seriously, additional help from someone who knows what they're doing would be fantastic -- I've taught meself basically, done all the work meself. My big project right now is expanding and separating my studio from the rest of the basement. Soundproofing it too. I need to build walls and a door and put up really solid insulation." He really was proud of the work he'd done on the house so far; he hadn't blown anything up or burned anything down, and his work was solid and looked almost professional. Not too bad for a punk kid.
He ducked his head and returned her smile when she expressed her faith in his record label project. "Thank you. I've put so much of myself into this, it has to succeed. Not so much for my sake -- I'm not setting meself up as a music mogul or any crap like that -- but for the kids who have a dream and no way to pursue it, you know? Coz I've been there." The struggle of getting his band Torgo out and heard back in England bubbled up in his memories. He would have done -- and did -- anything to get his music out there.
Aitana took a deep drink of her fresh beer, and Rob roused from his musings enough to realize the Brazilian was getting close to her limit. This was what, her third beer? A glance to the bartender, who was keeping an eye on the inebriated pair, was enough to indicate that this was going to be her last beer. He didn't want her getting staggeringly drunk, after all.
Her cryptic comment caught his attention. He knew exactly what she was talking about. "Yeah," he nodded. Was that all she did, go out at night and beat the s**t out of Negaverse agents and youma? That was sad. Again he wondered what had gone on in her past that made her so angry and lost. He really wanted to help if he could. "Well, we'll have to think of other fun things for you to do, right?" he offered, clapping her on the shoulder. "This has been fun, hasn't it? I mean, you can't go out drinking every evening -- well, you can, but I don't recommend it. I don't even do that," he laughed. "You're far from boring. I think you're a very very interesting person."
That was perhaps a little more credit then she deserved, but she would take it, with a wide and confident grin on top of it. Aitana knew the basics and a bit more than the basics, but she was certainly no expert yet. But the Brazilian had as much tenacity as she'd praised the Brit for. And she'd sure try her damndest.
In giant work crews they could put up rooms work of walls in a single day. But for a person working all on their own Rob's plans were big. If ever there was a project for two sets of hands, that was it. "Walls and insulation are easy enough. And making room with no sound is something important for noisy musicians, yes?" She smirked, nursing her drink further.
Had she been drinking a little more slowly, or if it hadn't been so long she probably could have lasted longer. But her enthusiasm had gotten the better of her, and the more buzzed she got, the less she thought about how much she was drinking. And before she knew it she was almost all the way through that third pint, a tired sigh escaping her.
"Fun and less painful." She agreed with an amused laugh. "When I first came to Destiny City I used to just walk around and look at everything. Find new things to see and try. Who knows, maybe I might start doing that again too." Rollerblading, contortion, parkour, metal shop and motorcycle repair. She'd seen so many new and exciting things in the beginning. Participated in so many stupid and meaningless races and competitions of athletic or gymnastic prowness. She missed it, and for once Aitana was actually willing to admit it to herself.

He's adorableeeee. heart She'll have to spill the beans and dispell some of those secrets for him sometime - Maybe during a patrol or when she comes to see his house.

"Yes, very important!" Rob grinned. Walls and insulation were vitally important for a music studio to have, especially when one lived adjacent to one's parents' house. And doubly so with the kind of music that would be going on in his studio. His plans were nothing if not big and ambitious.
He caught the tired sigh escaping from the Brazilian. Yeah, she was about done for the evening. "You doing okay, love?" Gently he reached out and touched her arm, the one holding the nearly-empty beer glass, one step away from taking it from her hand. "You absolutely should start exploring Destiny City again. There's a lot to see and do here." Even he had to grudgingly admit that this was a pretty okay place, for as much as he hated being here, despite the youma and Negaverse infestations. "But you can start doing all that tomorrow, right?"
Everything could wait til tomorrow. He was feeling the beer himself and likely wouldn't be long awake once he got home.
Iris_virus
Yes absolutely! I'd love for that to happen at some point ^__^
Short post is short XD He's just about ready to send her on her way home XD
His concerns were met with a response that he should have certainly expected. The Brazilian straightened a little in her chair, her chest puffing out subconciously in a show of just how very big and tough an strong she was, and she lied through her teeth. Or maybe she had actually just deluded herself into believing it. "I am fine."
But when his fingers actually touched her skin, which was radiating with a soft heat, she couldn't help but devolve into a round of laughter. But she didn't try to fight him as he offered her his thoughtful advice. "Yeah alright. Sleep tonight. Adventure tomorrow."
The pint glass was lifted to her lips, the last of the golden liquid drained before she set it back onto the counter, and began to dig clumsily for her back pocket and the wallet the resided there. Which brought another set of giggles from her when it turned out to be a harder task then it should have been.

No worries, I kind of felt the same way about my last post. XD So seems like a perfect point to wrap up and then just plot the next one, wahaha.

Aitana's struggles with her wallet put a bemused, lopsided smile on Rob's face. "No no no, I got this one. I'll cover it." He waved her off with one hand and fished around for his wallet with the other, with a bit more success than she was having, giggles and all. Her giggles made him sort of giggle a bit himself, snickering through his nose. Poor girl was pretty well drunk. Hopefully she'd make it home safely.
He signalled the bartender and placed a couple of twenties on the bar. "For your troubles, mate," he mumbled under his breath. He knew they had been a bit of a handful, loud and jovial even for that place, and frankly he was surprised they hadn't been ordered out or cut off sooner. To Aitana he said, "You can pick up the tab next time, alright?"
Now came the most challenging part: getting off the barstool and back onto his feet. Bracing himself against the bar, he slowly slid his butt to the edge of the barstool, flailing a bit with one foot until his toe touched ground. The floor thus located, he slid the rest of the way off the stool until he was standing. The wobbliness of the room around him indicated that yep, he'd had entirely too much to drink.
Steadying himself, he held out a hand to her. "Here," he offered, "in case you need it."
The announcement that he would pay and she no longer needed to hunt for her wallet was quite welcomed. And she agreed with a quick nod to the idea that she would pay next time. She'd just have to make sure to put her wallet someplace else next time, because her shorts were far too tight for her to blindly dig when she was this drunk.
Years of gymnastics and an impecible sense of balance were probably all that kept her from falling on her a** when she slide down from the stool to the ground. Her height gave her an advantage too, having less of a space between her feet in the ground, so while she wobbled once, she landed firmly enough. Grinning as if to say 'Ta-da!', before an arm whipped around Rob's neck, pulling him in a bit of a playful headlock. One that, given his height, delivered his face right into her chest as she chortled with drunken amusement. "Ha... so worried about me when you are the one that can not walk."
She released him after a few seconds, grinning like a fool as she patted his shoulder. The world around her was swimming just a little, but she kept herself upright. Heck, once they were outside she might even power up for the trip home. It would definitely be quicker, thought who knew if it would help at all with her tipsiness.
"Was fun Rob, thanks for inviting." A hand raised, offering a mild motion of departure. "We will have to hang out again sometime soon." Whether that be patrolling, drinking, working on his house, or whatever. Rob was a 'bad' influence in all the best ways.

Close it up in the next couple of posts? And then I'll pm and bug you again once we're done.

"Whup," Rob boofed in surprise as he suddenly found himself getting up close and personal with Aitana's chest. It was not an altogether unpleasant experience at all, and confirmed to him that she smelled very nice indeed, even mixed with beer as her scent was. And her skin was warm and soft despite her athletic build, or maybe it was just that he had his face buried in her cleavage...
Fortunately, he was released from the headlock before he inadvertently embarrassed himself. "I can walk just fine," he protested, drawing himself up to his full height (such as it was). "I've been a hell of a lot drunker than this and made it home just fine. Just. Fine." He poked her shoulder on the last two words for emphasis, followed by a short laugh. "Besides, I haven't got far to go. This is sort of me neighborhood pub."
He raised a hand to wave at her. "Yeah, this was a lot of fun. I'm glad we were able to hang out like this." Taking her arm, he squeezed it gently, offering her a wide, genuine smile. "I'll ring you up or send you a text or something, see when you're free. We can decide what we want to do then."
And with that and a final wave and grin tossed to her over his shoulder, he was out the door, whistling as he walked down the street toward home.
Iris_virus
Sounds like a plan to me! <3 You want to wrap it up?
Aitana snickered a little as Rob poked at her while asserting his ability to walk before giving him a pat of his own, once on the top of the head. "Yes yes, I know. You are big and tough." She probably didn't need to add the that's why I like you because it was pretty evident from the smirk on her face. It was funny how alike they could be in some aspect and so very very different in others.
The assurance that he'd ring her eventually so they could do something again received an approving nod. "I will talk to you then."
Following him towards the door and then outside, with only minimal swaying or wobbling, Aitana glanced lightly in the direction he'd gone before continuing in the opposite direction towards her apartments. It was a little more of a walk then he had, but nothing un-managable. It wasn't like she wasn't alert enough to punch someone in the face still if they tried to bother her along the way, and with her mind swimming with beer and good memories she wouldn't even notice how long it took.
