She didnt notice the cold, just the dark that seemed to absorb everything. the light from her flame only made it so far before it was consumed by this unatural darkness, and it made Ember wonder if the Satan owl had done this, it was the only logical explination at the time. Eventually she started to wander looking arround for any lad marks or even buildings of any kind. She put out the flame since it wasnt helping much, the light reached only so far, but if she was careful she could probably let her eyes adjust to the darkness and make out something... anything really, there wasnt even a moon to guide her through the night. "this is all... very unatural" she mummbled before she heard the sound of footsteps, Ragged breathing as if the person was running and scared, scared for their life. her eyes had not adjusted well enough for her to know where this person was coming from. "stop!" she tried to shout and lite a flame but someone ran into her as soon as the words left her mouth. She fell back into the soft dirt and scrambled back, lighting her flame as soon as she was too her feet. The Sight was... pretty? she was some dancer, dressed up and shining all over, light grey scales sprouted from certain points of her body and she had an un natural grey color to her skin. "are those... horns?" not exactly what she wanted to say right off the bat, but at the same time she wasnt sure if she was seeing things again.

Radiant Grey
Her breathe tore through her lungs with every step, her pace growing faster and faster until she was at a full sprint. Moving as though she was gliding over the ground as if it dared not to touch her beauty. The darkness growing around her frightened her. Clinging onto her veil, her loose skirt flapped behind her gone were the feelings of cold and shivers that once consumed her thoughts now consumed with the fear of what grew behind her. She dared not to look back, her heart rate growing more and more rapid. She wanted help, someone, anyone who could help her not feel so alone. She couldn't go back to that life to the world where she stood beyond the reach of others wanting so desperately for someone to just reach out and tell her that they saw her.
"stop!"
Her eyes widened as the voice registered in her mind a second to late. She felt herself collide with something. The rough collision knocked her over sending her tumbling down rolling along the dirty ground. Lifting her head up she coughed the wind effectively knocked from her burning lungs. She looked up half expecting to see the darkness now solidified before her eyes ready to put an end to her escape.
But this was not the case. Waves of yellow hair illuminated the darkness casing a bright contract on the colorless world before her. Her breathing softened. A person? Was she seeing things? Was this a final trick of the darkness? Give her something she wanted so desperately only to reveal it all to be a lie?
"Are those... Horns?"
Her eyes widened again a small gasp escaped her pale lips. She didn't know what to do or say a wave of relief overcame her at the sight of another living person! She felt a soft smile slowly spread across her eyes that now filled slowly with tears. Short lived was her comfort as the sounds of whispers once again returned to taunt her with their intangible forms. Reaching onto the ground she gripped her veil, wrapping it around her body once more she clumsily got back to her feet staring behind the fiery haired girl. She took a few breathes staring into the haze that approached, what time she had gained but making a hasty exit had now been wasted by her stumble. Gripping the veil tightly she took a nervous step back, whipping her hands out the veil followed in a large sweeping circular motion she connected the ends of her veil, with a stomp of her foot the once shimmering cloth crystallized on point floating in the air in front of her. Reaching out she gripped the crystallized ring, when her skin made contact with the ring the crystal shattered into powder now revealing a large metal ring blade. Spinning the blade in front of her she moved her hips in rhythm with the swaying of her blade. Her legs could not carry her fast enough to outrun the cloud anymore their options were limited.
"When you live for someone, you're prepared to die." She whispered to herself, a quote from her mother she spoke whenever she was scared to remind her why she fought.

She didn’t get her answer, instead she heard a chilling whisper approach from the direction the woman had come from. She couldn’t see anything in this blasted darkness, it was very unnatural and by the sounds of things there was something behind the veil of pure darkness. ”there are actually things that live in this darkness?” she growls and both her hands hold fire, a flicker of light catches her attention, the bright glow of her fire jumping from the surface of the weapon the woman was hiding, where the hell did that come from
The darkness sprang forth and for once she could see the hint of something beyond the orb of her light. The shield she held in her hands slowly growing smaller and smaller though as the creatures swarming the two of them grew closer, sand was stirred up into her light and into her eyes, casting shadows all over as she moved to shield her eyes, giving a growl as something lashed at her forearms making her feel as though she were starting to suffocate... like the feeling of drowning in water.

She took a step backwards again both her hands now pressed against the dull inner edge of her ring blade. Biting her lower lip she repeated the words she needed to hear.
"When... You live for someone... You're prepared to die!" She shot forward pushing off the rocky ground like a spring board. Swiping her ring blade outward she spun the blade gracefully around her arms, her body moving fluidly with every motion. Her feet tapping to a rhythm in her head as she pirouetted back and forth. Sliding along the ground she slashed at the darkness, though her attacks found no target there simply wasn't anything there to hit! She took a few steps back sliding the ring over her head keeping it now waist level around her. She stepped back towards the fiery woman. As she looked back into her palms flames emerged, flames that frightened her more then any darkness ever could.
She screamed tripping backwards she fell onto her back her ring blade landing a short distance away from her. Now out of her grasp the blade quickly transformed back into her less than protective veil. She held her hand to her mouth as it to muffle more screams. Now was not the time for old psychoses to cause her to tremble she knew this but why couldn't she move?! She felt herself shaking at the sight of the fire, she reached out grabbing her veil which she clung to desperately. A trembling whimper came from her mouth as she clenched her hands over her draconian ears that stuck out of her flowing ivory hair. She couldn't do this! It was one thing to dance with a fire behind her but she couldn't fight not like this. She wasn't her mother, not as strong or dependable. She was a woman who stared adversity in the face with a smile and compliment while her daughter trembled like a child at the mere spark of fire. What would she think if she could see her now? Oh the disappointment she must feel looking down from on high at her daughter she and her father had sacrificed everything for!
The sounds of splintering wood under heat filled her ears and mind. The smell of the wood of her house burning to the ground, the sound of her mother and father telling her to run, the feeling of the cold ground beneath her tiny cut feet. It was all to much to quickly! What sort of world had she entered into?! Darkness, fire, loneliness and she had been here all of an hour! What sort of God would allow a place such as this to exist!?
"H-Help me..." She whispered under her breathe, calling to some unknown force for help. "I can't do this... I can't..." Her voice trembling through shivering lips. She felt the tears well up again in her eyes the salty sting as they poured out over her cheeks.

Evie had just left the hotel room that they would be sharing in Romania, and Irian was planning on just lounging on the sofa or something until she returned from the grocery store with food for their stay here. Upon hearing the door shut behind her, Irian went over to the sofa, ran a hand back through his silver hair, and then plopped down to sit on the couch. He closed his eyes and turned over to his left before leaning back with his hands folded behind his head. He planned to just fall asleep like this with his legs and feet propped up on the armrest until whenever Evie decided to return.
But instead of the soft catch of the sofa cushions, Irian felt his body continue to fall for some odd reason. that was until, his body hit the ground below him with quite some force which was enough to cause him to cry out. If his hands hand not been behind his head, he probably would have been more seriously hurt though.
”Oww! What the hell!?” The impact quickly brought Irian back up into a seated position. As he looked around him at his surroundings, he quickly realized he wasn’t anywhere he recognized as a Romanian hotel room. ”s**t… Where the hell is this place?” he asked himself, a frown placing itself once again across his lips as he slowly made his way back to his feet. Compared to the hotel room he’d left behind, this new location was definitely considerably more dark and deserted. In fact, it was literally a vast wasteland of nothingness, dirt, and dust as far as the eye could see in every direction. Whatever this place was, it was certainly very very very far away from where Irian wanted to be, which was in Romania and searching for his brother.
The emptiness of the landscape didn’t bother him so much as the silence did. Granted, he had spent quite a few years of his life in an isolated prison cel underneath Eden and Cleanse, but even there he had at least had the occasional visitor to deliver food and the sounds of the other electric lights and other various things that served as the functioning of the systems. Here in this unknown place however, Irian couldn’t hear anything that sounded remotely familiar to him at all. Not even the sky and its stars appeared in familiar places in outer space above the planet.
”This is just way too… ******** bizarre…” Irian muttered to himself as he turned around to try to get his bearings.

Ember was getting claustrophobic, the air was suffocating and her light was turning less the vibrant yellow it should be but more a soft orange, she fell to one knee as her head closed in on her feeling tight like she was going to be suffocated in a dark box.
"You're prepared to die!" the woman, the other one that was there with her shook her back to her senses, she was able to shake off the edge of her impending fear. this is why we drink ember, your such a problem some times she growls to herself and shakes her head, the suffocation still there but her anger getting the better of the helplessness. her hands began to glow brighter but she took little notice. The ground cracked under the pressure and heat she started generating and she took no notice of the woman that had fallen at her feet, frozen in fear.
Ember wasn't going to let her fear get the best of her, a spark danced across her body and she took the pent up rage she had been holding for years and she suddenly let loose, the light exploded around her, and her shouting was drowned out by the roar and blaze of fire that cleared the surface of this dead planet several miles radius of her current spot, had the draconian not been what she was or holding the magic sash she would have burned to a pile of ashes and dust.
The light could surely be seen by anyone on that face of the planet, and as it died slowly Ember gave a sweet sigh of relief, her hair still glowing slightly but nothing like it just had, she looks around her then to the girl on the ground, starting to feel bad again she looks down "you... you alright?"

Andrel wasn't a stranger to loneliness, he had spent a lot of his time alone while traveling the world. but this wasn't the same kind of lonely he was accustomed to. This world was foreign and dying, there were no creatures about that he could study and follow, nor was there any greenery for him to tend to or learn of, everything was dead and or dying, and he could feel something deadly was in the wind and it made him very nervous.
So nervous that he caught himself starting to hum once or twice, a few of the show tunes he was really getting into back home were still stuck in his head. mostly cause the headmaster Armand had started dancing around the school grounds singing those and some Disney songs that were quite catchy. In light of things though the memories were helping him keep his chin up. Despite not knowing if he would ever get home again, he had already broken his favorite tea cup, a gift from Daryle even, he would be so upset about those rides to class.
This is just way too... ******** bizarre..."
Andrel stopped dead in his tracks as he heard something up ahead, a voice? did he hear that right or was the darkness tricking him "hello? someone there?' he was meek in responding hoping it wasnt some trick the monsters of darkness mgiht play to catch a wary straggler or a unsuspecting prey, as it was Andrel knew he had been gaining weight. he was prime prey for a lot of predators out there, plump fleshy horsey meat... "oh i knew i should have started that diet a long time ago" he wimpers helplessly as he grabs the skin on his stomach to pull on it.

Anansi Araneae Alias was wondering if they were perhaps just really…really hungry. Here they were, in the middle of nowhere, smelling pancakes. Their stomach grumbled uncomfortably at the thought. Alias's pancakes were probably almost done. All warm and drizzled with maple goodness. The small robed form sighed. Well…the pancakes would still be waiting for them when they got home.
Or…sooner than that. Alias was starting to get that buzzing in their head. The faint sound like whispers mixed with bees. "Secrets….so many…." And so concentrated. Alias turned their head towards the sound of secrets and the smell of pancakes to see two small forms in the close distance. The stone and metal mask on their face shifted a little as if in a smile. Thank goodness, people.
"Hello there!" Alias's soft voice wafted directly into the minds of the two beings. Seemingly human and dragon. Or…no not quite dragon. Alias picked up their speed, catching up with the other two. "William DeScythe. And Armand. You may call me Alias." The tiny teenage sized form bowed their masked head respectfully, just sort of knowing that Will at least spent some time in Japan and was familiar with their customs.
Alias might have said something more, but their gaze immediately went to the giant stack of pancakes in Armand's hands. "Ooooooh pancakes?! Can I have some please?! Pretty pretty please?!" Alias's voice chimed in both their heads. The small person was practically jumping. But then….they got a hold of themselves again, and cleared their throat out loud. "Excuse me….I mean….I see you have food. And I was hoping you would be willing to share with a poor….hungry…person?" "Hello there!" sounded in Will and and Armand's heads, shortly followed by the sound of shuffling in their ears. Luckily for Alias, not much surprised Will and Armand these days, and being spoken to telepathically certainly wasn't new to them. Apparently, their bickering had attracted another rat in this dark dirt filled world, a rat who knew their names without them asking, a rat who apparently enjoyed speaking through their minds instead of verbally, a rat who bowed a head presumably as respect for elders since...this rat seems younger, a rat who.... had some mad hankering for pancakes. Will knew it probably didn't help that Armand's pancakes were probably argubly some of the most delicious ones in the universe. "No, " the blonde demon stated. "No pancakes for you.""Aw, don't be so mean, grumpy. You said it yourself. Enough pancakes to go around all of hell~" the red Mandy dragon chirped as he expertly balanced the pancakes on the platter. Obviously, not all the pancakes had been transported. The funny man had made enough pancakes to fill Will's kitchen, and not all that had come to this new dark place. "Here! Have some." And like magic, a plate and a fork mysteriously appeared in Alias's hands, and some pancakes on the giant stack began to float themselves over to Alias's plate. The blonde demon glared at the red dragon. What were they going to do with all those pancakes anyway? Fine. Will made a motion to snatch Alias's mask off her face. "Well, you might as well put a face to your ....pseudonym." The name Alias to Will was clearly not a real name. Armand just didn't care. "And Armand, you forgot the syru-----" SQUIRT! "F-k you, stop sign."Mandy dragon was now floating in the air, no longer on Will's shoulder. In his free claw/hand, he had magicked into existence a squigee bottle of honey syrup and promptly squirted syrup in Will's face. ":3"

Radiant Grey
She could feel it, the heat from that night, the roar of the flames as they licked at her skin, the fire that started it all. She could hear her father telling them to run, her mother refusing to leave his side and sending her away.
A new wave of heat encircled her, her eyes tightly shut her hands still clutching her head as she attempted to hide away from it all. Her cries soft whimpers of a girl scared by more than just the flames of her past. She felt the tears continue to roll down her face and onto the ground her veil now tightly wrapped around her shielding her from the inferno that charred the earth around the two of them. Her body shivered, what seemed like hours really seconds. But just as with all nightmares this one too came to an end. The heat subsided, her trembling slowly ceased.
"you... you alright?"
Radiant's eyes opened slowly. She stared out blurry vision from the tears which she wiped from her eyes. She lifted her head the darkness now banished back to where it crawled from. She blinked but how? It had completely surrounded them. She looked up at the yellow haired girl, had she done all of that by herself? The ground around them was scorched by her flames though none remained to tell of it. She looked around them as if to reaffirm what she thought, then back to her. Nodding softly she dabbed her eyes again with her veil before getting up. Draping the veil over the small of her back and around her arms she took in a deep breathe steadying herself. After a moment she opened her pale eyes looking the girl in the face. "Yes I am alright." She let out a small exhale, placing her hand gently on her chest to slow her heart rate. "I-I'm sorry. I don't like fire." Obviously, people do not shrivel up in a cowardly mess around things they love. "But... Thank you I certainly needed the help."

Alias' mask clattered to the ground. Though, they were not bothered by this. Rather, a small giggle rang in the minds of Armand and Will. "You could have just ask you know. As old as you are William, I thought you to have better manners." Alias sat down cross legged on the ground next to their mask and looked up at the Demon and Dragon pair. "Sorry you can't get what you want though. Alias suits me doesn't it?" The 'face' that looked up at them was as smooth and featureless as glass. A olive toned oval framed by black hair.
At the appearance of the syrup, Alias lifted their plate and caught some that hadn't hit Will's face first. They dug in with enthusiasm. With every bite, a mouth would form out of the nothingness that was Alias' face and take the pancakes with fervor, before disappearing once again. "I don't wear a mask for my own sake you see. Mortals are strangely unsettled by a body without a face." Not that many mortals actually saw Alias. Alias was the type of person where glanced bounced right off them. Regular folk could be standing in the same room without ever knowing Alias is even there. Unless of course Alias made a point of making their presence known. Which…again was rare. "And Armand these pancakes are amazing! A food worthy of Amun-Ra himself."
((IMPORTANT PLOT STUFF INCOMING!))
As our heroes find themselves in the desolate landscape, some have already noticed the shadows that approach. Like snakes, the Shades sense the presence of the heroes by just their being. The vibrations upon the earth, the sound of breath in the still air. Every movement creating a larger target on each of their backs.
The shadows swarm on the heroes. Cloaking them in total and complete darkness. Where not even the light of the stars can penetrate. And in the darkness, they see the face of nightmares. It is different for all of them. Whatever fear lies closest to their hearts springs out at them. Clawing and inescapable. Those with powers will find them bound. Reduced to their most mortal form.
Like dying stars, one by one our heroes are dragged into darkness. Through the dying planet they are brought to where all the heroes from the countless years have eventually found themselves.
In the deepest places of the planet, there is a machine. It runs day and night, powered by the turning of a monstrous wheel. The Shades are always there, keeping the heroes turning the wheel. Round and round they go, until they can no more.
Only two are left out in the wastes. Rika, in her mustang with the headlights blaring, was left alone. As was Ember, a blazing sun that could not be put out.
((And back to regular post.))
One second, Alias was happily eating pancakes and giggling at the rather rude William DeScythe, and the next second Alias was ambushed by darkness. There were….things….in the dark. Shapeless at first, but as they began to take form Alias found themselves reaching for their mask.
A Pharaoh and his Queen stepped out. Tall and elegant, headdresses gleaming in a nonexistent sun. Alias looked up at them, trying to get up, to run, to do anything. But as Alias tried to move, bandages reached out of the dark and caught at wrist and ankle. Wrapping around their body. "N-no please! You're dead! You're d-" Alias's voice was cut off, their power mind speak cut off as their power was muted. Desperate guttural cries came from a mouth with no tongue. The smooth, featureless face became that of a girl. Dark eyes and full lips, cheeks rounded with youth.
The darkness pulled Alias down. Down through the ground and deeper into the world. When the darkness lifted enough to see, Alias was in a cavern. In front of her was a large spinning wheel. Like the cranks she remembered the slaves using to build her father's temples.
Speaking of, the shadows were back. Over her shoulder she saw the form of her human parents, and the sight put ice in her veins. Her father was holding a whip. He gestured to the wheel, and Alias felt the whip across her back. She hissed, and stumbled for the wheel. Her heart was pounding in her throat. Why couldn't she feel her demon? Where was her voice? Why….her parents were dead. They were dead! They were supposed to be! Alias shuddered and felt the whip again. She pushed at the wheel. It wasn't real. It couldn't be.

Aiden stared in bewilderment at the ... Human, in front of himself. It was actually human. Him, and the baby, both were. They were mortal, vulnerable, and reeked of life, and the potential of death. Death for a moment had to wonder if there was still a trick involved when the man asked ever so kindly if he was well, and that they should go rest. In their arrogance, the shared minds assumed this was now just a mere simpleton, obviously looking out for a little child. Death composed his mental strength, and retained control, against Aiden's desire to teleport away.
With one meek hand outstretched, the young 'human' approached and grabbed hold of Nathaniel's pant leg. He looked away, seemingly shy, but more than that lost in thought. 'No human would be punished like this. What has happened?' Their humanity thought, and demon responded; 'It isn't Tartarus. It isn't Hades, and it isn't Gaea.' A world without the primordial deities that make up the Earth, the sky, the seas, a world without the underworld, and without Olympus - the great seat above them all - made little sense to them. Death resigned to the fact that allowing two humans to temporarily live, even here where they were not watched by the Olympians, was their best chance to learn more.
The boy stayed quiet, and intended little else but to follow Nathaniel. This turned around, given what their eyes spotted in the distance. It came ever closer, yet it could not be given shape, or identity. What was coming was mere darkness, like the fall of night, but moving with purpose. It moved at and over them till the darkness in the horizon from before also filled the sky. Without light from the stars, the very ground they stood upon was unseen, and could only be felt in the soles of one's shoes.
Aiden's head turned and turned, and he could not sense life. Whatever this was, it was not living. The sensation made him miss Hades all the more, but he was hardly afraid of a few black clouds. Something, however, then caught his eye. It moved within the darkness, slowly becoming apparent. Aiden waited, prepared for anything. It was a corner of a little square thing, well decorated, which peeked out from the shadows. All this time, Death thought he had forgotten it; Forgotten what it looked like, tried to forget what it felt like. When the whole form of the ornate box of Pandora attempted to appear, Aiden grabbed Nate ever tighter, and teleported them both out.
Then once more, and more.
The two stood once again under the stars, as before, like nothing had happened. It was dark out, but whatever had attempted to envelop them was no longer there. Somewhere in the far distance it had vanished into the impenetrable horizon. Aiden raised his right hand, the left clinging to Nate, and pointed over the ruined foundations of a house. In the distance there was light. It was still calling for him. The boy spoke not a word, did not teleport them closer, but waited to be led there.

Radiant Grey
The answer to her questions never came. From the ground she felt soft rumblings, the whispers of the darkness slowly beginning to claw at her ears once more. Her eyes widened, looking around for another cloud of darkness that heralded another fiery storm yet none could be seen. As the ground shifted below her again she stumbled falling onto all fours, though not the rough surface of the jagged rock met her hands instead a void, a suction that she could not escape. Her eyes widened as the darkness below her grew, shapeless masses clutching onto her pulling her downward. Letting out a quick gasp she reached out her hand towards the girl with the yellow hair but in moments she was gone, leaving nothing in her wake but a memory.
Her eyes clouded, it was difficult to breathe. She squirmed in the void, her body shifting back and forth. She gasped reaching for the comfort of her veil that was now gone her shoulders bare, cold in the dark. She curled up hugging her knees to her chest. "Help me..." She mouthed.
Her eyes slowly opened, the screeching of metal a hideous noise that caused her to jolt up. She blinked where was she now? Looking down at herself she gasped, her clothes, and hair they were no longer flowing as they always did? What? Was her magic no longer working? A sudden violent tug of her hair caused her to scream painfully. She felt a boot press on her back while her head was yanked painfully back. She fell landing on the ground her hands pushing up to help alleviate the pain from someone tugging on her hair.
Her eyes shut tightly she slowly pried one open her attention focused now on the image of the Elveran woman who had set her home ablaze. Her eyes widened how was she here?! The woman raised her up, she screamed her hands reaching up to try and pry the Elveran woman's hands from her hair.
"Your kind belongs in the dirt. Half-breed whore." She threw Radiant onto the ground. She supported herself on one of her arms as she looked back to the woman who pointed behind her. Radiant's eyes followed her finger looking upon a massive wheel. "You're a shameless display." Radiant's eyes widened slightly, was this what she had told her mother when they stood outside her house? She slowly stood up looking back at the woman who now clutched her veil tightly in her vile hands. Radiant understood, turning she headed towards the wheel. Pressing her hands against the lever she began to push forward, while her magic was gone her strength was not but her strength alone was nothing compared to the undertaking it was going to take to get this stupid wheel to move. What contraption needed such a colossal generator?
Nathaniel Kenneth Griffon & Noelle Cardes
The young boy looked as frightened as they were, he was most likely in a situation similar to his own stolen from another location, but the question was was this for better or worse? He felt a tug at his pant leg, looking down he saw the boy had clutched to it. Smiling down to him he reached over with the hand not holding Noelle placing it on the boy's shoulder. He had to move somewhat slow, with the boy clutching to his pant leg he couldn't take full strides while certainly not the fastest mode of transportation it didn't matter they had no destination to have a time table.
As they walked a sudden gust of wind caught him off guard making him take an involuntary step backwards. He held Noelle close to his chest while he stood in front of the boy to shield him from the wind. It would seem even the weather was not n their side. He looked over his shoulder what he first took for storm clouds proved to be much worse. They crawled along the ground an amalgamation of smoke and smog that choked the planet racing towards them. He grunted, not knowing what do to they couldn't outrun it, as he reached down to craft a makeshift wall the darkness had already surrounded them. A sudden gust of wind again and Nate could no longer feel the young boy clutching to his pant leg.
"Hey?! Call out something I can't see you!" He shouted into the darkness. He was met with dark laughter though, not the sound of the boy's voice. He slid back the mechanism on his boots firing up as the sound of bullets chambering clicked into place. He held Noelle with both hands they would not have her as well! He attempted to raise his leg but soon found he couldn't. Looking down half of his feet had become enveloped in some cavernous darkness it clawed its way up his leg wrapping around him tightly. He choked gasping for air the feeling of the wet darkness defying logic as it climbed his body swallowing his vision, Noelle all the while remained quiet as ever her tiny hands still clutching gently to his finger.
He felt himself being thrown by another blast of wind he stumbled falling onto his back with a rough thud! He coughed a few time clutching his chest, not because it hurt but for Noelle. When he did not feel her tiny warmth his eyes shot open in a panic. He stood up looking for her where was she?! His eyes locked onto what appeared to be a massive gear in the center of the room, a wheel to some unknown device that dwarfed anything made back in his world.
"She's not yours."
He felt a chill run up his spine, spinning around his eyes focused on the source, Noelle's mother holding Noelle gently in her arms. "H-How?"
"You let me die..." She whispered her voice soft but still echoing in his head.
"What? No I didn't! I tried everything in my power! There was nothing I could do!"
"LIAR!!" Her voice screeching and rough grinding against his mind. He winced lightly. Noelle began to cry herself, her tiny eyes filling with tears as her cheeks turned puffy and red. He took a step forward but felt the familiar seize of his muscles as an electric current shot through them. He fell to his knees, looking up he saw two of the soldiers who guarded their prison camp, one was the guard he had killed, the other was the one who refused to give them more medical supplied when Noelle was born. The guards pointed back to the wheel which was ever so slowly being powered by a few other people. "Just don't hurt her..." He said as he lowered his head in defeat. He got up walking towards the wheel he took an empty place before he began to push.

'Why isn't he moving? Tell him to move, lets go,' one voice spoke in Aiden's mind. The second one was silent. 'What, did it spook you that much? You are fear,' and even to taunts there was no response. Nothing to tell him to be as silent as death, and for that he felt alone. Aiden turned his head, and realized he himself was in control of their body. Of.. His body. As he swung his head to the left, there was nothing there; no stranger, no baby, and the sensation of whatever he had tried to hold onto was gone. His fingers grasped the empty air, and he relaxed his arms against his sides in defeat.
The wind did not blow, all was still, silent... gone. It felt much like before when they arrived, yet so much more obvious, without a hint of hope of there being something, somewhere out there. For a minute, Aiden stood there in contemplation, looking around. All that seemed to be left in the world was him and lifeless earth, few stones foundations of a structure. The light in the distance had died. Hope was gone.
A glimpse at the sky did make him realize something, the stars above formed constellations. Star formations which he recognized... Had recognized, in a past life. With a shiver down his spine, Aiden turned to gaze upon the ruins of the house in front of him, realizing, remembering where he was. This had been a man's house, now long gone, forgotten by history itself. There was nothing left, and either he too would disappear eventually, pitifully starving to death in this empty world, or live. Live on, to be the last. Forever. It was not something he could run away from, nor could it be fought.
Aiden woke up with a start, eyes wide in horror, now staring at a large wooden construction. It was dimly lit and all that he could perceive, besides the silhouettes moving it. He did not need to look behind him to know what was there. There was life, up ahead. There were others. With that thought, Aiden ran, scrambling over the unsteady floor to reach the people.
The boy took up the first post beside another living person and reached for the wooden bar sticking out of the gigantic wheel. With small pale hands he pushed. A whelp of effort, tears rolling down his cheeks, he did what he could in his weak body. "Where am I?" He pleaded, and looked up at the person beside him. Gee, did they look freaky with that mask and robes. Regretting turning his eyes, he looked back ahead, and let his eyes bore into the woodwork. He was not alone, that was what counted now.

Masked girl with an attitude apparently... was what Will thought as the mask fell. Not that it mattered. The devil was not always known to be the nicest of people after all, and he certainly knew how to bring out the worst in people. An expression of recognition lit on his face for a moment, and his thoughts were only confirmed when the girl complimented the red haired stop sign's pancakes as being worthy of Amon-Ra after she sat down on the ground to enjoy the same syrup that splashed his face. "Oh, it's you," the demon looked at Alias with a bored expression as he banished the syrup from his face. "More giggly than before, daughter of dumb pharaoh. At least you did something right by setting them back on the right path." His expression might have as well been "Why didn't you just say your name without trying to sound all mysterious and sh*t?" He coughed. "Alias enough to be an ally.... in a ways."
Once again, Armand and Will were not surprised by Alias's featureless face and the appearance of her actual facial features during the nomming of sacredly delicious pancakes. Will simply glared at Alias before taking on a bored expression again.
The red dragon fluttered and landed on Will's head shortly after Alias mentioned mortals not liking her lack of face. "Bad kitten. You were thinking of drawing on her face, weren't you?! Let her enjoy the delish pancakoos...you know you want some too~" There were still pancakes and syrup to share, but neither Mandy dragon nor William partook in them.
And then....they were enveloped and swarmed by more darkness, darkness in the form of shadows that they cared not for in the least....
The darkness itself was not scary, although it did seem to be slightly suffocating until Will got used to it. Instead of cowering in fear, this particular blonde demon let out a couple curses and "F--- it" to whatever he was seeing or feeling. If he was fearful at all, it certainly wasn't obvious. Fear was something he exacted upon others and did not experience himself. Whatever the case, something still drove Will toward one of the wooden bars around ginormous wheel, aware that he couldn't just toss lightning bolts when he cursed because they wouldn't appear...
However, he stopped his beeline toward the wooden bar and was broken out of the spell when he spotted a certain red drunken frantic fox running and hopping around in circles, almost looking like she was just chasing her tail. He proceeded to laugh out loud, but would probably be shortly nudged toward the wooden bars again by the Shades soon after Meia's post.

Alias felt the small boy sliding to the spot next to her. She looked at him. They were nearly the same age she realized. She was maybe a few years older. He looked so frightened. What could such a small boy see in the shadows to make him so scared. But….there was something in his eyes. Age….he had old eyes. By habit, Alias's mind reached out to talk to him. But she found herself mute. The familiar connection of her mind to another's cut off from her powers being muted. Under the mask, she bit her lip. She wanted to comfort him, he looked so scared.
Taking one hand off the wheel, Alias pulled off her mask and slipped it in the pocket of her robes. She was so out of practice in using facial expressions, but she arranged her face into what she hoped was a comforting smile. And then, stuck out her remaining stub of a tongue as means of explanation.
Looking over at the shadows briefly, she saw the Shade of her parents standing there still. She shuddered and forced herself to look down at the boy again. She reached over to his hand, and with her finger started spelling on the back of his hand. "I-D-O-N-T-K-N-O-W." She sighed a little, and then spelled, "S-T-I-C-K-T-O-G-E-T-H-E-R-?"
Before she could get a reply however, she heard a laugh behind her. She looked back, and saw Will and Armand from before. With her mask now off, there would be no hiding the look of absolute panic. He knew her. He knew her and he knew her parents and he would know her name. Though, thankfully he had not said it. Yet. Luckily down here her name held no power. But what if her powers came back? What if William said it. Her face pleaded with him, screaming silently for him not to say.

First, cat boy. And then, being surrounded by darkness and dropped into a fresh hell. The shades were a very different thing for Meia. Without magic, she was a fox. Her fears were something ancient and primordial, reaching out and booming from the Shades. Without the rationality of the humanity she normally had, Meia panicked. She bolted from spot to spot, desperately trying to find a way out. At every turn the Shades were there, corralling her towards the wheel.
And then suddenly, there was the scent of something familiar. Along with a harsh though unexpected laugh. Whirling around, Meia spotted a human and a small dragon. She recognized them. That human was familiarity and shelter and comfort. Well….not so much comfort. But her canid mind was associating him with survival. She ran over to him and the dragon and fell into a trot beside him. Tail tucked between her legs, and ears pinned down, Meia whimpered and nuzzled Will's leg with her head.
