Rin smiled, hopeful, damn it Melvin. Why did you have to get her all excited. "That sounds really nice," because she really was excited even if she stubbornly suppressed showing the feeling under her heel. Her heart skipped a beat, maybe a few, as she glanced around the room. "Maybe we could tweak the plumbing even... put in a big vine covered shower. Riiight..." She pointed at a far corner where attaching a door to a room on the nearby wall seemed logical, "there." She knew it would be a long time away, she inwardly reminded herself of this fact.

[sozd=10]He looked to where she pointed with a smile. "Could hide the door with flowers. Secret room just for us whenever we wanted to get away like this." A private haven to get away from it all without going on leave. This far away from the lights of the Deus buildings, it almost felt like they had their own cabin somewhere far away.
He smiled and kissed her brow. "We just won't tell te Leads how te funding it being used." He said with a chuckle even if he knew most of the added construction would be out of their own pockets.
"A nice place to wash after a hard days work."He saw how exhausted Rin was after digging and transplanting all day when she came to bed.

"Exactly," Rin agreed to the thought though she knew all of her project funding would remain exclusively to the garden. The additions would be entirely out of pocket. She didn't argue though, it was a sweet thought - beginning to end. "Did you want any pets too?"

He looked up at the sky. "I grew up with a cat named Pepper. When things got bad for me at night, she kept me company. I really miss having a cat around, but minipets?" He shrugged. "They just don't feel right. It's like living the enemy. Like not quite the same."

Rin twisted part of her lip back with uncertainty. Cat person and bird person, at least there wasn't a third - dog person - in the mix or they'd really be in for it. She wanted to laugh at the mental image, but worried Melvin would think her mad so instead she relaxed her lips again. "You know, Halloween seems pretty passive in itself." She started to fondle his own hair a bit. "It's the horsemen I don't ******** like."
She wondered how Melvin would react to being surprised by a minipet gift. Would he still feel the same and simply reject it? Or would he accept it for what it was? A creature of fear, just like them.

He rose a hand up to drag over his neck where his mark was, frowning back at her. "It just seems passive. I don't really trust any part of it. I mean, some of them look cute, but if I focused too much in liking them, I think it would make testing harder. Ya know?" He really didn't want to get caught up takin care of a minipet that would hurt him or otherwise make him feel bad when he had to experiment on one.
"Yeah, the horsemen are the biggest pain in our sides."

That sounded a bit persuadable Melvin. Noted. "Well, we don't really experiment on favourites..," she decided to change the subject. Paranoid he might figure out that she was up to something. "In any case, there's a lot to look forward to still. Like I think I'm up for promotion soon. So soon I can taste it. Then we'll have our own private bathroom."

A large grin came over his face as he scooped up Rin closely, wiggling her back and forth. "Yes! And we can celebrate by staying in that bath till I turn you into a prune." Of course while being very active in the bath.
"I'd say I'd miss sneaking into the women's bathroom with you or taking you with me, but it would be nice to be able to walk around naked with you without caring who sees."

Rin laughed, of course that's all he could think about on the subject of a promotion. It was okay though. It was true, the subtle added independence of being a full hunter. For her it was the prospect of possible additional funding. More permissions. Possibly even using plants to specialize her skills. The possibilities ahead were endless.
She sighed thoughtfully.
"I hate to admit it but it's exciting," she reeled back the reigns to the much nearer future. "Did I ever tell you about my mini?"

The suspicious look she had been giving him twisted up into something much more aware, much more naughty. She turned and lunged at her unsuspecting 'victim', attempting to pin him - with one hand, to the blanket below. "You tell me."
