keepin' cool: Her best friend was a reptile and Half Truth couldn't be more envious. Her caiman seemed to actually enjoy the disgusting summer heat- Weird Dog was such a weird dog. Still, at least her favorite activity was swimming; that way, the doe could keep cool too, submerged up to her eyeballs in dark water, much like a caiman herself.

keepin' cool: Pestilence did not like the heat of summer, partly because of his dark colors, but mostly because it dried up many of his death pools. And so, instead of watching bloated bodies hover beneath their glassy surface, he watched them shrink and dry out under the sun. He himself stayed quite cool beneath the roots of a tall tree, pouting all the while.

keepin' cool: (Future Kin hopefully :3) Shadows in Starlight normally loved the strain her morning work-out gave her but today the sun was belting down rays of pure heat as it drew higher in the sky, turning the sweat on her pelt into an uncomfortable stickiness. Drawing closer to the shade of a nearby tree she flopped down underneath it, only to jump back up in shock as her movement dislodged water pooled in the leaves from the previous day's storm. That's one way to keep cool! she thought to herself with a shudder.

He preferred the cool of the winter snows. The snow felt so much better on his skin and scales. On days like these, he usually sulked underneath the shadow of a large tree. So much cooler in the shade...

keepin' cool: Neither Nor was not keeping cool. Oh sure the shaded mossbeds cradled by large tree roots were their favorite spot to hide from the summer sun, but Neither Nor's temper kept their blood at a low simmer.
One time. ONE TIME! And they're saddled with the foals! Of all the rotten luck!

keepin' cool: The overarching willing branches that dipped into the water below were a perfect canopy from the sun that made the summer hot, especially for Uprooting the Willow, who felt a sort of kinship here. It was difficult to stay long in one place, but wherever she could find such a tree she would lay for a break. It was pleasant and she sighed, laying her head against the cool earth beneath the tree.

keepin' cool: Eyes in the Dark had tried bogs and streams, shade trees, caves, and wishful thinking. She'd asked her friends to fan her with wide, crispy leaves. But the only thing that worked to keep the heat away was a hole she had dug herself, a long tube of dirt that hugged her so tightly she forgot how miserable it was to be alive in the daylight.

keepin' cool: Koi spends summer mornings swimming in shaded ponds, playing tag with any fish brave enough to come out of hiding. In the water she stays until the sun is too high and the shade dissappears. Reluctantly she leaves the water, finding a bush to nap under, sleeping through the hottest part of the day.

keepin' cool: Ducky dipped a hoof in the algae-enriched swamp waters before wading out to her knees and finally her shoulders. She still wasn't cool enough, so she went deeper and deeper. Finally, she got relief, but only her nostrils were visible above the water surface - now that was nice...
