"I lived all my life in caves, we are all good at climbing in my family!" Abbie said with a grin. "But we are still wyverns, and we do fly when we are outside."
The monster's pale eyes lit up with wonderment and delight. "Really? I don't think I've ever had cakes before! What are they like? HEY WATCH OUT YOU!" Abbie yelped as a sand lobster careened down the slope after them, and it was unable to avoid the collision entirely. However, the hard shell made up for what the pale creature was unable to protect entirely.
In it's attempts to avoid the lobster, it was now balanced on one foot, one hand, and it's tail to steady it.
Abbie blinked. "I guess you could say that, but it's not really like..." SNIFF. "Gooey sticky. See it's soft!" It put it's foot back down, and offered the palm of a hand for examination. It was deep red, and covered with little ridges almost like exaggerated fingerprints. If Holly reached out to touch it's hand, it would feel smooth, and soft just as promised.
