Nina cocked her head at her mother and squinted as if trying to spot the ruse in her words but quickly gave up and wrapped her tiny body around her mother's legs cheerfully nuzzling and soaking up the attention like a dry sponge. As much as Nina liked to spend time with the many different adults that shared kit-sitting duties, she absolutely loved her mother best of all, and wanted to be just like her when she grew up. She would be happy just to spend time together with her. Mollified she burst into a rambling tangent which was at least half made up or at least highly embellished.
"You're probably just going to take lots of naps. Mr. Two-Dee said grown ups have lots of fun sleeping together when there aren't kittens around to interrupt. Kimi hushed him up cause he wanted to keep it a secret! I guess when you're old and boring like him then naps must be the most exciting part of the day, but Kimi has already had lots and lots of time to himself when he was traveling, momma. He definitely enjoys spending lots of time with me, cause he said so! Everyone that watches me says that they like spending time with me. Even you like spending time with me best, right? What are we gonna do together, not naps I hope, we're young and full of life and don't need no boring old naps, nope!"
Peeking his eye open at her voice, Kimi listened carefully to Parvati's quiet words. He nodded and added his concern with own soft voice.
"... but what does it sound like...?"
She said no doubts and he wanted to not disappoint her, so he closed his eye and his mouth once again, held his breath and felt his pulse pounding. It thumped strong and steady and if he tilted his head just so he could definitely feel it more strongly in his bad ear. There was a definite rhythm to it, but the song aspect that he didn't understand still seemed to allude him. Not wanting to disappoint Parvati, Kimi smiled.
"Ah, is that it? ...I suppose it is like music."

 Rire's eyes widened with a flicker of fear for a moment before they settled, thankfully Kimi had stepped in, but she was going to have to find this Mr. 2D and have a few words with him she thought, tucking that way in the back of her mind for later as she tried to keep up with Nina's excited chatter. "Oh yes Kimi has traveled to such far away places, he must really enjoy having your company my little love." She bopped her daughters ear tuffs lightly. "I like spending time with all of you.." She carefully avoided stepping into the trap of favorites. "And we can go anywhere you'd like darling, though no where to dangerous of course." She added in quickly, before Nina could run away with it.
 "Not all songs have lyrics, some are just rhythm.." She said as she listened, her ears twitching around like little radar systems. "Dadum, dadum...dadumdadumdaumm..Dadddum.." She repeated softly until it made a rhythm. "Each beat is unquie to the heart it belongs to." She said as she nuzzled his cheek softly. "Yours makes me think of the ocean at night.." She closed her eyes and just listened to him, it was soothing and she couldnt help but purr.

"Anywhere!? I want to gooo... to the moon! Can we go to the moon, or to the beach, or, o-r, or!!!" The hint of fear her mother felt went completely over Nina's head, much as the casual innuendo that occasionally spilled out of the lanky lyricist's gap-toothed maw.
Nina pranced away as Rire moved to bop her ears, eyes sparkling and giving her mother the most charming look she could manage, pouting out her lower lip just a little bit. "But you like spending time with me, right? That's not why I'm always being looked after by everyone but you..."
Kimi hummed and nodded, "Yes, I suppose that is true..." He kept his eyes closed as she began to voice the rhythm he could feel but never really paid any attention to before now.
"Ah. Now I think, I really understand." When Parvati began to purr, Kimi couldn't help but to relax more and allow himself to join her. His eyes slid open and he watched Nina's antics and Rire...
"The rush of the waves."

Rire's chest tightened at Nina's words, she could feel her heart break a little bit. Her daughter felt neglected and unloved, and it was no ones fault but her own. She quickly pulled the little kit close and nuzzled her face into her soft kitten fur. "Oh baby, mama loves spending time with you so much. So very very much, I promise more time for just me and you okay?? I love you baby, I am so sorry.." Rire couldnt hide the slight crack in her voice, or the gloss of her eyes as she felt tears build up behind her eyes. " We can visit the moon from the beach, or whatever you want baby.." Rire would do anything to make up for failing her daughter, her chest hurt so badly now. " I love you so much Nina, please never think I dont honey.."
Titi was senestive to those around her, her lack of real sight made everything about her other senses hightened. She burrowed closer to Kimi and let out a soft mew as she just wanted to hide now. "Mama's sad.." She whispered. "Mama's only sad sometimes, not often...only sometimes and only when she thinks Im sleeping." She admitted, she knew she should be sleeping when she went to bed, but sometimes she just..couldnt sleep. She didnt understand why, she just laid there some nights, listening, feeling the things around her.

Caught up in her mother's embrace, Nina gasped and gave a little squeal of pleasure before cuddling into her mother's warmth, purring and nuzzling her. "Oh, mommy! Nini loves you best of all too..." she muffled against her mother's shoulder, wiggling happily at the promise of getting to spend time with just her alone. She didn't really feel particularly neglected or at all unloved, but she did miss spending time with Rire, as much as she missed spending time with Titi or with anyone she didn't get to spend a lot of time with.
Parvati's words shook Kimi out of his staring, he gathered the kitten up into his arms and pet her ears, hoping to comfort her. "Shh, sweetheart... That's not for you to worry about. I'm sure she's just got things on her mind. Grownups sometimes..." He trailed off. It hadn't been his intention to talk down to her, he wasn't trying to shush her up either, when he realized what he was saying he hefted Titi closer and took her over to Rire and Nina.
"Excuse me, ladies..." Kimi handed Parvati to Rire before Nina could continue with some other story from that chatty little mouth of hers. Kimi had not heard everything that passed between mother and daughter, but he'd heard enough and now was providing a distraction. "It's such a lovely day, why don't we, ah... go for a walk. Together. Perhaps you two would like to play together? Nina, Titi?"

Rire's eyes fell onto Kimihiro with gratefulness, he was such a god send she couldnt fathom what she had done right to be so blessed. But he was giving the perfect distraction as she licked both her girls lovingly. Rire loved her kits, even when their more bratty side showed. "A walk sounds lovely doesnt it girls?" she put them both down and nudged their rumps. "Specially on such a day.."
Titi chirped at her mother before she wiggled with excitement, her sisters scent was one of her favorites, it was fruity and something else..a little..spicy? That was the best way she could describe it at the moment, she bumped her head against her sisters shoulder. "Let's play Nina!" She beamed a smile while her whole body seemed to quiver and wiggle.

Kimi smiled pleasantly at Rire, he'd quickly learned how to distract Nina, when her line of questioning got too precocious for anyone's good. The tiny ball of fluff was swiftly growing and soaking up everything he exposed her to, perhaps it was time he was more careful about who he visited when she was tagging along.
"It is a very nice day, nicer still with good company." Kimi hummed, tail curled against his back, his feet were already moving. He was slow, but steady once he got going, and he knew from experience that Nina would outpace him a dozen times over if he didn't keep a spring in his step. Nina nearly began to pout when Kimi interrupted with Titi, but with licks and a nudge to her rump, she was quickly on to the next moment without looking back. "Yes, mommy~"
Nina fell into line beside Parvati, bumped, she bumped back and laughed, bowling her sister over and then dashing forward to roll through the grasses, giggling wildly. "Tag! You're it! Catch me, Titi, catch me!"
