When word of the Shaymin’s discovery made its way to Anahera’s tribe, it was agreed that they should investigate. The group had made a place for themselves in the Howling Forest, but always they feared the encroachment of humans. Perhaps this was a chance for a true home.

Caliban was the chosen scout, and it had taken him days to make the long trek to the base of the mountains. Leaving the safety of the forest for the first time in years, he’d had to dash through open grasslands and snow plains where humans might appear at any moment without warning. It was a relief to finally find the meeting place in the shadow of the mountains.

The Leafeon was ambivalent about the large crowd gathering – neighbors were far from high on his priority list, but kindred spirits were not unwelcome. It was not surprising that so many wild Pokémon sought sanctuary from humans.

The Shaymin was nowhere to be seen, but of course she ought not put herself at risk. Who knew if some enemy might hear of this and seek to capture such a special creature? Caliban never thought to doubt the rumours. Wild Pokémon were not liars, as humans and their captives were.

When the Masquerain appeared, Caliban’s ears twitched irritably at her repetitious call, but, as soon as she revealed herself as Shaymin’s messenger, he listened attentively.

No path? No matter. The Leafeon snorted. Did she think wild Pokémon needed something so… so human as a path? The forest was his home. No mere brush would hold him back.

As soon as Lain began moving, he followed, keeping a close eye on the fluttering wings.

Jax noticed a very fearful Caterpie and a Gengar conversing. She decided to walk over and see if they would be interested in traveling together and see if the little Caterpie was alright. "Pardon me, but are you alright, little one?" She asks, sitting next to the two cautiously. She wasn't really trusting of ghost types like Gengar whom were known to cause havoc.

Tybalt grimaced, tail twitching in annoyance and remembered discomfort. His skin crawled and he scratched violently at phantom fur hitchhikers until the feeling subsided. The scrawny growlithe's fur was left mussed and bedraggled. "Why did it have to be a bug?" he grumbled, ears flat. At least it wasn't a joltic, but it's nagging was much a pain in the hindquarters as real nibbling.

Marmalade headed into the bushes after the masquerain. She added a quick hop every now and again so she could make sure she could still see her. Flying pokemon got places so much faster than she did.

A particularly persistant voice caught Rei's attention, and he looked around to find the source. Then looked up, since the speaker turned out to be a flying bug pokemon. Who was some sort of messenger for the Shaymin, sent to guide them all to the santuary. Which suggested they would not be meeting the pokemon who had sent out the call just yet.

"It seems we're starting off now," he said to Chi. He glanced at the Growlithe and added, "Are you coming, then?" The Masquerain kept moving on without waiting to see if the gathered pokemon were following, so he started off as well. It would make things difficult if they lost sight if their guide.

Caliban spun to face the flame-happy Growlithe, livid. "How dare you!" he barked. "The brush is what’s protecting the sanctum. What kind of wild Pokémon are you if you need a path?" He glared coldly at the offender. "Destroying the natural world.... What a human thing to do."

The Leafeon turned back toward the bushes the fire had struck, then slapped the ground with his tail, launching a spray of mud to dampen the smoldering foliage. He scowled at the sight of the crispy, black leaves and the scorched branches. As a Grass-type, the greenery was practically family to him.

Noticing the recoil mirrored back by the offending Gengar, Barneby felt a pang of guilt grapple him, making his uncurling movement increase only slightly faster. The assurance did well to encourage it further, making tiny feet meet the ground once again.

Antenna wavering ceaselessly, he scanned over the stranger very quickly. Here for the same reason... So they'd come from hearing of the Shaymin's promise too. Surely that must mean they were of no harm... right..? With the indication to the moving group, he scrambled onto all of his lined up feetsies, to frantically glance to the moving group, "o-o-oh...!" he exclaimed with surprise. They were moving already! That must mean the journey was about to start! "y-y-..y.yes... it... it look-looks like... i-it's time t-t-o go." he didn't want to be left behind!

But he gave pause in progressing, visibly shrinking when another Pokemon approached him. An Elecktrike. However her gentle inquiry let him raise up from his flattening position, to give a hesitant nod, and another meek response, "y-y-yes, miss. I-..it seems... w-we should be going, th-though." he repeated from the Gengar's earlier observation, red antenna twitching in said direction in gesture.
