Otto's heart raced, like it did when he was scared of something. Not of Chance, of course. He couldn't be scared of him. The song playing sounded fun, and the beat was steady enough to make it perfect to dance or shimmy to. He felt hyper aware of where Chance's hands were, from his shoulders, to his hands, and ultimately where they rested now on his waist.

"Well.. maybe. A little.." He grumbled in compliance, slowly swaying his hips side to side. He loved music, and it was hard to deny. "I mean, just cause you seem all gun-ho about it, or whatever."

Chance was in no way an expert in dancing, especially in terms of classical dancing where one had to take careful steps, and his longer limbs made it harder to accommodate. But this was not classical dancing; this was casual, relaxed, lighthearted dancing, the kind of dancing that Chance was used to. In spite of his inexperience in formal steps, he'd been to enough clubs to know how to move a different way.

He felt a smile break out on his face, and Chance's fingers curled in Otto's shirt, still resting against his waist. He took a step back, tugging Otto gently with him, trying to ease him into an easy rhythm.

"It's just nice up here, and we're both here, together," said Chance, unable to stop the small fluttering of giddiness in his stomach. He had started to move himself, hips swaying gently, Chance's fingers light against Otto's waist. The music filled the air around them, and he tried to find the beat in it, nodding his head in tune.

"See, you're doing it already," he murmured, eyes flickering encouragingly to Otto's hips.

Otto turned his head away, his face going red. "It's embarrassing.." He grumbled bashfully, always a bit shy when it came to things like this. Still, he kept it up, finding a rhythm to follow, and moving with Chance to the music. They were alone, after all. So...

He hated to admit it, but he was actually.. having fun.

He held onto Chance's sleeves for now, still uncertain what to do other than wing it.

He was biting his lip, trying to hide the grin that was on his face, but it wasn't working. "You're doing great," said Chance, which was true. Otto may have been reluctant, shy, and embarrassed, but he was moving well. He'd managed to get into the rhythm, and Chance gave an encouraging nod, taking another step back to draw Otto forward.

The music swelled, sound bursting from the speakers, and Chance looked up at Otto's face, his own cheeks tinged the faintest pink, Chance's hands sliding to rest on Otto's hips, his own swaying easily from side to side.

"It's only embarrassing if you think it is," he said, and he was starting to move a little faster now, a little more enthusiasm in his steps, Chance's eyes alight with eagerness.

"Then it's embarrassing cause I think it is." He sassed back with a slight hint of snark. At the very least, that edge of sass made him a little more eager to compete, getting more into the music and the beat with his movements; an attempt to match Chance.

Chance was encouraging. That much was expected. And rewarded, since Otto seemed to react positively to it.

He could tell Otto was beginning to loosen up, beginning to let some of his reservations go, even with the sass. Chance's grin was spreading wide and bright across his face, and he stepped back, to the side, forward, and back again, his movements all intending to guide Otto.

His hands on Otto's hips tightened a little and then loosened, and in one swift movement, Chance had swung around behind Otto, hands resting lightly on his waist from behind.

"Just shut up and dance with me," he laughed against the back of Otto's neck, unable to hide the happiness in his voice.

He got more into it, even if he wouldn't admit aloud that maybe dancing with him was more fun than he thought it'd be. His posture and movements were much looser and less tense, and that alone told Chance he liked dancing with him instead. Otto's head turned as Chance slipped behind him in a smooth move, his own hands falling to rest on the ones over his waist.

Otto snorted, looking down at the floor as even his ear lobes blushed.

"You're a dweeb." So much for shutting up; but he was still dancing.

Regardless of what Otto had told him about not dancing, it was clear that he could at least move well - and he was becoming much more fluid in his movements, hands resting on top of Chance's where they lay on his waist.

A quick kiss was pressed to Otto's red ear, Chance laughing against it.

"And you said you couldn't dance," he murmured, lips to his ear, and his arms wrapped suddenly around Otto from behind, holding him back against his chest. Chance was still swaying, still moving as the music swelled once more, the beat quickening.

Then he let go and swung back around in front of Otto, laughing, Chance took both of Otto's hands in his and began moving them around in a circle, his feet never stopping, Chance's hips swaying, his entire body in tune with the music.

"I said I didn't." He grumbled with a smirk. However, that too was now a lie. He was beginning to understand that dancing with someone was way more enjoyable than he'd have thought.

He smiled to himself when Chance held him close, still moving in sync with the music and Chance. When Chance laughed and spun, Otto started to laugh too, albeit with his head turned in bashful resistance.

"Okay maybe I lied, and maybe this is kinda fun." He finally admitted, holding his hands and moving to match Chance's steps. He was a drummer, and knew a thing or two about rhythm and keeping a beat.

"Well, you are now," said Chance with a gleeful smile, lacing his fingers with Otto's. He wasn't moving in any sort of set pattern, but instead matching the movement of his body in time with the beat of the music. He took a step back and then spun Otto out, abruptly before whirling him back into his arms, Chance rocking them both from side to side.

The fact that Otto was enjoying this just made it that much better - and the laugh sent spirals of happiness all through his stomach. Chance's eyes fluttered, and he leaned close to Otto from behind, lips an inch away from his.

"Dancing with you is very fun," he murmured. "And you look hot, by the way."

He hovered a fraction of a second, like he was going to kiss him - and then didn't, pulling away and spinning Otto out again, Chance's feet moving quickly to slide to the rhythm, a wonderful, carefree laughter spilling from his lips.

The spin surprised him, and made a laugh burst out, ducking his head in lieu of hiding his face with a hand. Crap, he'd been caught into Chance's energy, and he couldn't help but feel giddy when the man seemed so happy.

"Do not.." He didn't even know why he was pushing away the compliment. Maybe because he felt as if letting loose made him look silly. His eyes flicked up to meet Chance's in a moment of bravery. Yeah, with a happy face like that, how could Otto not have fun too?

His lips seemed to hover, leaning in teasingly for a kiss. Otto nearly slowed down to meet him, but found himself taken aback when Chance pulled away. Otto was spun again, and once again Otto laughed, this time with less bashful restraint. "That's mean." He said, looking at the man with a mirthful glare. There was no interest in holding back anymore. Not when he felt so playful. He smirked and played along more willingly, giving in to the desire to dance with him, a feeling that outweighed his fear of looking stupid.

Otto rarely let himself go like this, so tied up inside with his own emotions sometimes. And while Chance very much liked him the way he was, he also liked these scant times when he simply...fell free and let everything go.

The laughter was bubbling out now, and Chance drank it eagerly in, grinning excitedly as he followed after Otto, his feet sliding along the ground, Otto's expression becoming less and less restrained with each second that past. Chance reared forward, snagging Otto's hip, and leaned into him, again like he was going to kiss him, but not following through, Chance instead sliding around behind him at the last second, a smirk on his lips. The music had shifted to something much more vibrant and vivacious, bright and eager.

"Did you say something?" Chance asked playfully, laughter and pleasure in his voice, sliding an arm around Otto's waist from behind again and swaying back and forth.

Even with the shift to a new song, he couldn't help but keep it up. This was possibly the most fun he'd had on duty... ever. Duties weren't meant to be playtime, but he couldn't very well stop yet.

Chance once against teased him, earning a huff from Otto. "Cheeky b*****d." He smirked, trying to keep up with Chance's carefree movements. He leaned back into him, tilted his head back to sneak a kiss to his jaw. He couldn't stop smiling now, the dancing giving him much the same feeling drumming did; it was a means of enjoying music, and in this case enjoying Chance.

He moved hips hips and feet in time with Chance, finding it more and more fun to allow himself to be swept up in his pacing.

There was nothing else to do while on duty, especially a duty that had little to no activities except to essentially sit and stare at the sky. Chance figured why not make the most of it, or at least a part of it.

Otto's huff earned him a grin, Chance's lashes fluttering a little at the stolen kiss. He wanted to take that smile and imprint it in his memory, take it out and remember it for another time - to remember all of this, just a carefree, wonderful excitement of music and dancing and being together.

He had both arms around Otto's waist now, Chance easing both of them into a restless, upbeat rhythm of moving. He pressed the side of his face against Otto's, whispered something affectionate and nonsensical into his ear and held him close, arms tightening so that Otto's back was pressed firmly against Chance's chest. A kiss was dropped idly to the patch of skin just below Otto's ear.

He stayed that way for several seconds while the music trilled happily on, and then, as the chorus built, Chance spun them both out, twisting and turning, tugging Otto in a wide, reckless circle, laughing with abandon as he made his steps match, hands back on Otto's waist as he spun them around.

Aw crap, his cheeks hurt. Smiling so much was something his facial features didn't do enough to be used to. He had reprieve when their pace slowed during averse, his smile softening into a more restful way as Chance whispered into his ear. His hands held his arms in place, his body shifting side to side. His heart swelled and pumped with energy, especially when the pace picked up again. Tugged along to his boyfriend's whims, he spun and turned and danced the shift away. He'd rest his hands on his shoulders, or hold his hands tight when they moved faster. The whole room was their own personal ballroom, all to themselves.

He'd never laughed so much in his life.
