Salathielly Hassli I am also ok with this. I want to propose setting up a kickstarted guide thread before the event, so we can control the reactions to the kickstarter. The Ammual Userball did not do this for their event, and they got a lot of user push-back. Many users compalined that they should just "donate to the ball directly," and not give into gaia's gold sink. The D-Party, however, made our guide thread and got to control the reactions a little better. It helped us to explain why we wanted the kickstarter and why we supported the gold sink. I think it made the public response considerably better. We had users of our guild sign up to be "greeters" in order to help explain our event to people who stopped by. It just worked very well to control the reactions people had. I second this! I think the D-Party kickstarter guide worked out great. :3
I'd be happy to help out with making a guide and greeting folks once we find out what information to include. Some of it we can write up now, but there's parts we can't plug in until we get more solid details about the kickstarter.thats pretty much what we did smile

So one of the tiers could be getting our own forum? For those who go to conventions how could a forum reflect an actual con? I mean we can add more if its possible?
Artist Alley Dealers Room (where people can sell their services not just art?) Roleplay (to reflect LARP in real life?) Contests Workshops (I saw some panels on how to run a fanthread etc) Panels Special Events (Maybe interviews with NPCs? Maybe interactive?)
I'm not sure how many subforms a kickstart event is allowed or if some can be combined? i.e. Panels and Workshops. Maybe the special events can happen in the main forum as a sticky??
One thing I would love to see is a tier for NPC interaction. Maybe even something where past NPCs makes a return i.e. zurg ninja

As far as I know the new date is fine for me. It will be much better for us if our event doesn't conflict with what Gaia has planned. We want to be the center of attention.

Ahh, I'll be at Otakon the beginning of the week, but, it shouldn't cause a problem for me. It should only be a problem on the 25th since I'll be there all day, but I'll be checking in from my phone. 3nodding

Hopefully I can snag internet at the hotel and pop on with my trusty laptop!

I think for special events, that could just be the main forum. We also want a links page (maybe call it convention program or schedule) that links to all of our official stuff that we are putting together.

I am perfectly fine with a delay. I think it will give us many more opportunities that maybe we wouldn't have gotten before.
