"I...have no idea, but maybe somewhere up north?" Chance asked, with some amusement as they made their way to the lighthouse. He remembered all too well Otto's aversion to the sweltering heat, a little smile tugging at his lips.

"You're the one leading today, so you pick where we're going."

"Maybe Canada?" Did Canada even have Ikea? He'd find out. They reacched the lighthouse, and Otto already had a sheen of sweat over his skin. And he hated it. "Air conditioning... it'll have air conditioning..." He repeated like a mantra, running his hands through his long hair. "******** I might have to cut my hair for the summer." It was too hot! Too hot!

He talked with the attendant, and put in the coordinates.

"Okay. So Canada does have Ikea. Let's go. They're droppin' us off a few blocks away from it."

Chance liked the heat better than the cold most of the time, but even this was a little excessive. His shirt was sticking damply to his sweaty skin, and he kind of wished that he'd decided to wear jeans, instead of shorts.

"Air conditioning, yes," said Chance, brushing a curl away from his face. He glanced sideways at Otto.

"I think you'd look good with short hair, though the long is nice too. And Canada it is - yet another place I've never been," Chance added grandly, and stepped through the portal.

"I've cut it short a few times. I prefer it long, but with this heat it's just annoying." He supposed he could always tie it up, though.

Beyond the portal as they stepped through, the wall of heat.... was still there. Of course nothing compared to the tropics. So as they stepped out of the alleyway, they were met with a refreshingly cool breeze.

"Oh thank Goooooooooodddd..." Otto groaned, standing still and letting the breeze cool him off. However, it was still muggy. And AC was just a few blocks away. "C'mon, let's get there already."

"There's unfortunately not much I can do with my own hair, unless I cut it," said Chance ruefully, tugging on a curl. "But I definitely don't want to do that, I like it the length it is."

The other side was much less hot, with a nice breeze, though not entirely a saving from the humidity. Chance gave a fervent nod and began walking, though really he had no idea which direction it even was; he would just follow Otto there.

"So this is Canada, hmm?"

"I like it too." He murmured, reaching to tug on a curl. "I dunno if it'd be fun anymore of you cut it." And Chance looked so handsome with it long, after all.

"Yep. This is Canada. My only experience with it is the boonies, though." He drawled, scanning the city blocks as they walked. "S'far as I can recall, they say Sorry a lot and drink syrup and beer." Blending in would be a cinch with Otto, obviously. Thankfully, they didn't actually need to pretend to be Canadian just to go shopping.

He could see the line of Ikea flags a few blocks up. They really were dropped off fairly close.

"Hmm.. A lotta folks had their rooms wrecked.. wonder if anyone needs some s**t from here." Feeling a little bit benevolent, Otto took out his phone. He certainly wouldn't be buying people anything; fully expecting to be compensated if someone did order something. He just knew getting leave was often difficult.

He turned his head to give Otto a smile. "I like that you like my hair," Chance said lightly. "So it'll stay the way it is."

He also liked the feeling of Otto's hands in his hair, but that went unsaid, since it was a relatively obvious fact anyway. Chance glanced left and right as they walked, eyes taking in all of the buildings, the signs, the billboards. "Drinking syrup sounds unpleasant," he said with a laugh, wrinkling his nose a little.

His gaze flickered towards Otto's phone.

"Are you texting people to ask if they want you to pick stuff up for them?" Chance asked, amusement in his voice.

"Don't let me be the dictator of your hair, man." Still, he was happy his hair would remain the same.

Otto nodded to his question, replying to tweets he'd received. "Mm.. yeah." He murmured. "I've seen people do the same when they're out. I always found it pretty helpful, so..." He shrugged lightly, pocketing his phone for the time being.

"Desk for Jordan, Mirror for Chel. But, you come first."

"You're not," said Chance with a snort of laughter. "I like that you like it, idiot, that's me being in control of it."

He would have reached out to ruffle Otto's hair, but it was too hot to be physically affectionate at present, so Chance kept his hands to himself, tucked into the pockets of his jeans. "I like Jordan," he said mildly. "He seems like a good guy. Never met Chel, though I've seen her on Twitter."

They rounded a corner, Ikea looming just ahead.

"We're gonna have fun carting everything back."

"Jordan's chill. Chel, I ain't sure. Only seen her on Twitter, too.. I think." If he had met her, he'd forgotten.

"It'll be a pain in the a**, but maybe we'll get good karma or sumthin'." He murmured, though he didn't sound certain. Doing good things didn't always reap benefits. Apparently that wasn't the point.

Finally they were walking down the massive parking lot towards the building. The cars they walked by were bouncing heat off their metal containments, making it feel as if Otto was walking past a thousand suns.

"I take back what I said about likin' the sun." He sneered.

He gave into the moment anyway and lightly bumped his shoulder very briefly against Otto's. "Good karma is nice," Chance said mildly. "But we'll manage it, regardless."

They were almost there; Chance could feel the sweat beading at the back of his neck, pooling in his collarbone. "Let's get inside already before we melt," he said with a laugh, and quickened his steps until they reached the front of the store, Chance immediately sliding in past the automatic doors.

A welcome blast of cold air greeted them, and he inhaled deeply, closing his eyes a moment before opening them again.

"Holy ******** it's huge in here."

There was a God, and he lived in Ikea.

Otto let out a sigh as the wall of AC hit his sweaty skin. He held no plans to go outside again for a long long time. "Yeah, it's somethin'." Otto murmured, wiping his face with the inside of his shirt. Such manners.

"They even got a restaurant." He began walking toward where he assumed the room displays were. The warehouse part was boring and not fun. "Don't go wanderin' by yourself, or you'll get lost." He scolded in deadpan.

"I'm not gonna wander," said Chance indignantly, but his eyes were already drifting towards all of the things that surrounded them. There was just so much to take in, even if they were still in the warehouse section.

He followed after Otto, letting out a low whistle.

"Maybe after we get some s**t we can have lunch," he said. "Where to first? Pillows or...I forgot what else we were getting for me."

"Lunch sounds great." He murmured. They'd be starving by the end of it all. "Pillows seems easiest, sure. We'll need a cart. Grab one." He demanded in a monotone, pointing at a lone cart.

"We also need curtains, cause the default blinds are boring. Like your room." He stared up at him. "Your room is boring." He was being a s**t again.

"Yes, sir," said Chance melodramatically, giving a mock salute. He ambled over to the cart and snagged it, putting one foot on the bottom bar and half riding it, half pushing it back over to where Otto was standing, a little grin on his face.

He rolled his eyes. "Okay, then, Mr. Interior Designer Graves," Chance deadpanned. "I defer to your expertise."

A pause.

"At least, in this sense."
