Elsheba: Post 1 This really was a mess. Elsheba had been somewhat nervous coming to the yearly gathering, but she had hoped beyond hope that, at such a holy time, politics would be shelved. It was simply too much to hope for - and suddenly she was thankful that she had sent Nimueh away, with Samoset. Pausing as she stepped around the mother, eyes soaking in the beauty of where she had been born, Elsheba listened to the conversations about her - then looked up as a younger sister (about her age, really, maybe a bit younger) began to talk of things she didn't understand.
Then there was an eruption of conversation - Lumi's voice, her little sister, started out strong, near the voices of those who had started this argument. Bristling, Elsheba began to move through the crowd towards her, listening as she went - casting her eyes to the sky in frustration at the voice of her future-mate, Samoset's, aunt ; then murmured a quiet 'thank you Aisha' as Kadriye came to the front and spoke.
Finally, Elsheba reached her sister and gripped her, loosely, by the loose ring of cloth around her shoulders, tugging her forcefully away from the trouble makers, and stopping only once they had some space between them. "Don't lend your voice when you don't understand what's going on, little sister. There's more than one Mystic for our mother to speak through." She scolded, roughly, giving her sister a hard look before she released her. "Even if Mystic Aselia is trying to take Sauti for our Mother, it simply isn't sound strategy." She let her words stop there - two sisters who she didn't recognize (Tahira and V'demhe) had summed up just what she was thinking.
Even if Elsheba's future mate was a hybrid, and his family sympathized with the rest of the tribes, Elsheba wanted what was best for her sisters - she wanted to expand, until Jauhar was once again filled with Alkidike, and didn't always trust the elders to make the best decisions to further those goals. But forging a path to Sauti, leaving Aisha unprotected now that they had a foe to their south, was simply foolish.

Vollerei post 1
Vollerei was growling and pissed off; why had the youngest mystic done something so stupid? Now was a time you were supposed to be with the Mother... and her actions were just giving fuel to flames that were already hot from the extremists actions these past weeks.
"Two of our Mystics speak out against doing this! The youngest probably just wants to see the world and figured now would be a time to sneak away while everyone was busy with the festival! Not to go out and do something so stupid as to fight the Wind tribe!" How stupid could you get? Or greedy?
She looked at Niabi; "Why do people want more than what we've got already? We don't even need more land..."

NIABI POST 2
She could hear more and more Alkidike shouting out, both for and against Aselia, and it only had Niabi shaking her head more. How could anyone assume to speak what someone's intentions were when she wasn't even here? Or how could anyone badmouth one of their own without her being here to stand up for herself.
Aselia may be different, but she was not a fake. She was born of Aisha, with only Alkidike blood. She heard the voice of reason from Vollerei and gave her a small squeeze of her hand. She was glad that someone understood her thoughts and could speak them for her, with a much louder voice than she could muster. "I have faith things will work out." She had to believe that this wouldn't be taken any further. That it was all talk.
"Our Sisters may be right, that Aisha wants to give everything to her children, but this isn't the way. It can't be."

Anya post 1
Anya was lost in the crowd, trying to find her sisters and failing. It was hard to move through, especially as people began to argue. What happened to festival to celebrate Aisha? She shook her head and muttered under her breath about stupid msytic apprentices who didn't understand their duties.
"People should just stop fighting.. I doubt Aisha wants us to kill everyone."

Lumikani Post 2
"Hey! Hey, hey, stopit!" Lumikani cried out, getting yanked away from the other sisters as they sent her confused and agitated looks. She stumbled a bit before righting herself, turning her head to see Elsheba just as she was freed from the hold, "What was that about?!"
Lumikani kept a disgruntled look on her face as she listed to her sister speak, pursing her lips and resisting the urge to stomp and demand she no longer be treated like a youngling. Instead, she took a deep breath and let it out in a huff.
"It is my right to do what I can for the great mother - I've done enough sitting and waiting." She argued quickly, before her face softened and she began to see some reason, "Aselia is a mystic, and she is there for a reason. I never spoke of war...but I believe in all of the mystics, and that Aisha sent Aselia out there for a reason. Why else would she not be here, at the ceremony that is so important to our sisters and mother!?"
Lumikani was getting frustrated and angry. She knew there was a reason the mystic was gone, she had been raised to know how important this event was. Why else would Aselia go to the lands during this time if she didn't have a reason?

Tahigwa, post 2
Tahigwa listened to the growing voices around her and took deep breaths. She didn't want to start a riot, or cause trouble with the only elders she held respect for, but the fact that so many Sisters had already been indoctrinated into following Aselia made her livid. Her attention was diverted, briefly, to Ilyra, to whom she smiled, until V'demhe's words pulled her back in. Well, she would have to agree, Aisha was without fault. She couldn't make mistakes. The Warrior turned her gaze to the ground, her lips twisting, before looking toward Aisha and the elders.
"If that is so, that Aisha cannot make mistakes," She began, taking a breath. "Then who's to say that Aisha wasn't trying to purge Aselia from her divine body when she was born early? Who's to say that Aisha wasn't trying to save us the trouble of having to deal with this rotten woman in the first place? She is our Mother, and if our Mother doesn't make mistakes, why did you try to save a child she obviously didn't want to keep alive any longer?"

Zahra Post 2
Zahra turned to glance at her mother for a long moment, then glanced over at her twin, giving her a long look before looking back again, "Alright, here's the plan, we pretend that we don't know her." She said in a hushed tone to her twin, her antennae twitching rapidly as she studied her mother. Her dark eyes turned back to watching the others before she sighed, "I don't know, surely Aisha wouldn't do that, right, Jojo? I mean I can't see her being that harsh, she always seemed to be a more loving sort to me."
The idea of the Great Aisha trying to kill a child, it seemed to be a little far fetched to Zahra but she didn't call it out, instead chatting directly to her sister about her thoughts and feelings about their mother's claim. Her antennae gave another twitch before she said, "It's kind of odd, huh? I can't say I've ever had such a differing opinion from Mom before." Lifting a hand up to toy with her shell necklace. Turning to look over at her for a moment, "So... there isn't gonna be a party, is there? Just a lot of arguing. Now I wonder if we should have gone to the party with Uncle Yaho and his family instead.
Giving a sighing sound she added, "Maybe that would have been a bad idea, huh? The Earthlings probably wouldn't welcome us to their parties given everything going on?" She made a bit of a face before crossing her arms behind her head and shifted her stance, "Here's to hoping things perk up or I am gonna go find a party elsewhere, Jojo."

Ariya Post 2
She had already given her view, though it didn't call for violence. Unwilling to stay near her mother and listen to her spill nonsense in her hate for all things earthling Ariya moved away. She passed those who were speaking, V'demhe, Tahigwa, and Ilyra, and continued on so that she could find somewhere to sit and simply listen. There was no point in adding more fuel to the fire. Everyone else would do that. For now, however, she did hold the view that spreading out into the rest of Tendaji wasn't a bad idea, but that was all she was for. Not war.

Kadriye post 2While she may have missed those whose comments were most inflammatory Kadriye's eyes did find Ilyra and Briella amongst the gathered crowd. It did her troubled mind some good to see them to know they would be here for her if any trouble came. Pleasant thoughts were cast aside when a certain voice rang out again though. The novice mystic's whole body trembled as she moved to confront the older Alkidike. "Aisha's strength is great but not beyond all measure. It is not often but some lotus bloom early and others contain weak sisters who needed more from the great mother than she could give at that time. You, who are ignorant of how we are grown and cared for from bud to blossom and beyond should not dare to judge those Aisha has chosen to carry at all." It was incredibly rare that Kadriye tried to pull rank on another of the tribe, that she flaunted her position and connection to Aisha but in this case it felt needed. She was no Eshe, she lacked the elder mystic's years of experience and deeper connection with Aisha but she was more than familiar with how their tribe grew and how important it was to tend to Aisha and the lotus at all stages of development. She has been there first hand to care for a sister who needed extra tending to after blossoming and who was now just as healthy as any other youngling. Kadriye was still a fledgling warrior, more at home with rituals and history then the use of her spear and magic offensively but she would fight this sister with the best of her ability if need be. "You will temper your tongue or I will remove you from Aisha's presence myself." Perhaps she overstepped her place and Eshe and Yansa would chastise her but Kadriye's normally gentle soul was raised in an ire she hadn't felt since the battle against Oba when she first took up arms in Aisha's name.

Ilyra - Post TwoShe didn't like this. Not one bit. On one hand she had her girlfriend which she lived very much, and on the other her mother's girlfriend who she had also grown to love and respected very much as a mystic. It was because of her that Ilyra knew what little magic she did. However inclined she was to side with her girlfriend for loyalties sake she was, she didn't agree with the things that Tahigwa was saying. She herself was born early, or at least that's what her birth mother had always told her.
As much as she wanted to speak again she didn't want to argue with her girlfriend, and kept her mouth shut. She comforted herself by telling herself that at least Tahigwa wasn't asking for war.

Briella - Post TwoShe liked Tahigwa well enough, and agreed that she was good with Ilyra, however she was starting to think the girl not as bright as she originally thought. Just as Kadriye said, Tahigwa was talking about things that she didn't know about. However she was very much caught off guard when Kadriye threatened to have the girl removed. She knew that Kadriye had that kind of power, but she didn't think that she would use it. This showed Briella more then anything else how angry the young mystic was.
"Kadriye is right. There are things to be discussed here sure, but there are also things that most sisters, myself included, don't know enough about to speak about. We have mystics for a reason, and there is a reason that not everyone can communicate with Aisha like they can."

Bhima- post 1
The idea had been to arrive in celebration. It happened every year; the Alkidike returned to their homeland to celebrate mother Aisha. In fact, the plan for Bhima had been to make her plea for children while on the island, but suddenly everything seemed to have gone wrong. What was this talk of taking Jauhar, and Sauti as well?! The races had only just recovered from the attack of Oba and now this? Alkidike were larger, stronger, sure. They had a closer connection to the earth all races walked upon, but this was all ridiculous. The idea of birthing children in this turmoil, hybrid children especially, was long gone and replaced with worry.
This all had to do with that new mystic, the younger one traveling to Sauti.
"Have you forgotten free will? she asked no one in particularly, willfully adding fuel to the fire, "The mystic may have gone for her own reasons, and without her here there is no way to know what Aisha may be saying." Never mind the fact that she wasn't particularly keen on believing what one person had to say when no other could check their facts.

Vollerei post 2

Vollerei shook her head; it looked like both sides were just throwing names or pointing fingers. Aselia was Aisha's child, just like the hybrids were. In fact, you could say she was a hybrid; born of Aisha and alive because of the firebird.... She kept that thought to herself though; it would really rile up the extremists who thought of her as "their" mystic and voice.
Vollerei sniffed. "My mother's loved me but they never just gave me everything... why would Aisha be any different? I think it's just made up by those who seek a reason to take things from others."

Maya Post 2
Wandering the crowds had proven nearly futile for the Guardian Alkidike. At first Maya had gone about in search of one Alkidike she knew better than she did most others, Rishima. But that searched had turned up little information and no one seemed to have seen him. Her heart sank a little as her eyes shifted towards the direction of Jauhar. Was her daughter safe, she was with Nkole after all. Or so she hoped at least, her eyes seemed to wander distantly, and what of Shukri. Her heart hammered painfully with the thought of her earthling friend stuck in Sauti. She had promised to return to see him again once the celebrations were over, to give him a proper answer to the feelings he had expressed. Her heart hammered again as she thought about them.
The mention of Sauti from several of the sisters along with mention of Aselia had the woman raising her eyebrows. She refused to join in the argument for or against the choices laid before them. Some seemed to have far outlandish cries. Something Aselia had mentioned were one of the reasons she was so desperate to find the Suruhama. That information had only been gleaned from the battle they had fought not long ago.
Folding her arms across her chest Maya's hip jutted out to the side as she continued to calmly inspect the crowd. Her eyes jumping from one voice to another before settling on a few quiet individuals. Oh, what was this? Not everyone was as eager to join in and create such a black and white image of the youngest Mystic?
